Elizabeth Barbour, Generator 5/1: Celebrate Life

This is the show where I bring on guests who are out in the world doing their purpose because they are aligned to their design. Our guest, Elizabeth Barbour, specializes in creating rituals for people who are going through a major life transition. This life transition can be positive or negative. Positive life transitions could be your son or daughter is graduating from college or getting married, you are getting married or a baby is born, etc. There can be more negative events where you lose a pet, a beloved family member, a friend, a spouse partner passes away, you might be dealing with a chronic illness or some other shock in your own personal life.

Our guest thinks it is very important to mark these events and to create special ceremonies around these events because one of the things it does is help us navigate through these events. It also says to our subconscious, “I am changing. This is important and matters to me. This matters to the people around me.” With that, I’m going to share a little bit about our guest, we are going to dive right into our interview, and then we will look at our guest human design chart towards the end of our interview.

How are you?

Thank you so much for having me. I’m so happy to be here.

I’m so happy to have you. Share with us why Sacred Celebrations?

Sacred Celebrations came about many years ago. It first popped into my awareness of, “This is an important thing I need to be doing and teaching in the world.” In the last years, it popped in after my mom passed away. I created a very unique white rose ceremony with my friends and colleagues to celebrate her life. It was a very unique and different experience from a traditional funeral. Very soon after that, within about a month or so, I started writing a book, which would end up becoming the book, which is finally coming out five years later, and ultimately, a product line.

It is all about that we are disconnected. You and I have talked about this over the time that we have worked together. We are disconnected from ourselves, from others, and our spirit. Ritual is a way to bring us back in connection with ourselves. It helps us to be back in integrity with ourselves, be more aligned, whole, and complete.

What is it about the ritual that speaks to you personally?

For me, ritual is a timeout from our everyday life. It is time out from the mundane. It is giving ourselves space to step into the sacred. That does not necessarily have to be big, fancy, and dramatic. It could be as simple as making your morning cup of tea, sitting on your back deck, and listening to the birds as you are savoring your tea and enjoying that. It could be an evening walk underneath the stars with your sweetie for fifteen minutes at the end of the day as you are transitioning into the evening time. It does not necessarily have to be something big and grand to still be meaningful.

When did you first realize you were into ritual or into celebrating things? Do you remember?

Ritual is sort of a timeout from our everyday lives.

I do. It was one of my very first coaching clients. I probably have been doing it for years before that but my conscious awareness was one of my very first coaching clients. That would have been back in 2000 or 2001. She was a woman who had been trying to have a baby for many years and it was not happening for them. They had discussed adoption and they finally landed on, “We think we are going to move forward with living a child-free life. That feels like the right decision for us.”

As we were coaching together, I very distinctly remember saying to her, “What if you did a ritual to honor and acknowledge this important decision in this transition in your life?” She said, “That is a brilliant idea.” That was the first ritual that I started co-creating. Soon after that, I’ve got divorced and I had a friend who said to me, “Aren’t you going to do a divorce ritual?” I was like, “I guess I should do that.” I ended up doing three different ones. That is when I started. Years ago, I had to go conscious awareness and now it is part of my everyday life.

Tell us about the first book you wrote.

My work as a coach for the last decades has been about work-life balance for busy women, professionals, entrepreneurs but the juggling act that we all do, whether we are raising kids, caring for aging parents, we are partnered, running a business, are involved in the community or volunteering, doing many different things, and so often, forget to take care of ourselves. My first book is twenty simple lessons to remind you how to pour back into yourself.

We tend to give so much to other people. That is the natural way we operate in the world. We want to give and help others but we have got to make sure we refill our own cup. That book has some stories and tips on how to do that in little bite-sized pieces, so you do not feel like, “I have to go take a whole week of vacation to recharge.” No. Sometimes just taking fifteen minutes or an hour a day can make a world of difference.

One thing I did when I moved from California to the East Coast is I start my day no earlier than 11:00 AM Eastern. I did not change my Pacific schedule. I was thinking how that ritual has been a godsend because I’m naturally a night owl. Now I can sleep until 8:00 or 9:00. I get up. I still have time to get all sorted for my day and then I finish by 6:00.

It is a dream for me. I get a lot of work done in preparation. It is great. It came about because I had not changed my schedule when I moved and then I decided to keep it. I do think that, whether the ritual is something seemingly small like a schedule change or taking that fifteen minutes leads to a huge movement.

In that case, you are talking about going with your natural rhythms. One of the challenges we run into in this life, especially in Western society if you are working a 9:00 to 5:00 job, that does not fit everybody and their personality, energy cycles or what their responsibilities are at home. As a working mom, I have to now work around my daughter’s schedule and I’m lucky that I am an entrepreneur. I can set my own schedule and plan to work while she is at school. When she comes home, I have time with her.

You have another book coming out about the sacred celebrations themselves and you seem very excited about this. Will you share about the genesis for this book? My next question is how is the writing process? Finally, why are you so excited about it?

My mom passed away on September 11, 2016. She had been sick for three and a half years. I had been her primary caregiver, taking care of her then, and my daughter who was only five at the time when she died. I was that true sandwich generation where I was feeling stretched in both directions. Fortunately, I had help and support. My husband was great. We had lots of friends and others who were helping but it was an exhausting time. When I did the white rose ceremony for mom five days after her death, and I was going to be doing a traditional funeral in Florida, where my dad was buried, we were going to bury her there and I had family there.

After that white rose ceremony, there was something magical and transcendent that happened that day. It was at my home and then we walked down the creek. I was living in Houston at that time. We had a little creek by our house and it was a bridge. I had given everybody white roses and we all carried our roses down there.

I talked about my mom and shared her life but then we talked about moms and women in general, the relationships and connections that we have, and how do we learn from one another. It was not all like sunshine and unicorns either. My mom and I had a hard relationship. She was critical, controlling, and challenging in so many ways. I’m sure I pressed her buttons, too.

We talked about how do we learn from these relationships, the good, bad, and other stuff. We all throw our roses in the water. It was this beautiful day of celebration and honoring all of the things in our lives. After that experience, I went and did her more traditional funeral a few weeks later, and I realized that we need more intentional, meaningful, magical sacred spaces in our lives when we are going through these big transitions. When you lose a loved one, change a job, move, get married, get divorced, have a baby, send your kid off to college or whatever it is. These are major milestones in our lives.

AYD 29 Elizabeth Barbour | Rituals
Rituals: We are so disconnected from ourselves, from others, and from spirit. And ritual is a way to bring us back in connection with ourselves.

Often in our society, we do not give the space that we need to process and integrate. Think about it when someone you love dies in the traditional corporate world, you might get 1, 2 or 3, and then that is it. You are expected to go back to work. Who can do that if you lose a spouse, a parent or a child? That is not humanly possible. We need more space and time to process.

The Sacred Celebration book came after I did that ceremony for my mom, as I started looking back on my life, realizing all the big events that I had created a ritual for, and had helped others do it, whether it was birthdays, baptisms, getting divorced, getting married, all of it. Also, realizing that I wanted to share the stories and inspire other people to do it. My book is not cookie-cutter. It is not prescriptive. It is not, “This is how you should do it.” It is, “Here are some ideas. Here are some things you could do, and then go create your own.”

You are giving the reader inspiration and some guidelines but leaving it open for their own creativity to come through.

The ritual that would work best for you is going to be different from me and somebody else. It is all based on our life experiences.

What is one of the most memorable celebrations that you can think of that you have been a part of?

It was my daughter’s baby blessing. We adopted Riley when we were living in Tallahassee, Florida many years ago. We were from Asheville, North Carolina. We had a huge group of friends there. When she was about six months old, we drove up to North Carolina to visit friends, introduce and say, “Here is our new daughter.” One of my dear friends, Barbara Brady, who you know, through your Human Design training, is a minister and she said, “Eric and Elizabeth, I would love to do a baby blessing for Riley.”

What we did was we invited another dear friend of mine, Eileen and Lars. They hosted it at their home. We had about 25 friends. We all were in the front yard on these big, beautiful Oak trees. Barbara had bought little river rocks and she passed out the river rocks to each person who came in attendance. We stood in a circle. She had Eric, Riley, and me in the middle. She invited people to go around one by one and share their prayers and blessings for Riley, for us, and our little family.

As people spoke, they said whatever it was that they said, “We love you. We wish you well. We hope you have a life filled with joy, adventure,” and they blew it into the rock. Barbara had a little heart-shaped bowl and everybody put their rocks into the bowl. Riley has those rocks still and she calls them her love rocks.

What has been one of the most memorable ceremonies you have done for yourself that you want to share on a public show?

I had a hysterectomy in January 2021. Anyone who has gone through a major surgery knows that it is a big deal to lose an organ. Particularly one that defines who you are as a woman, femininity, and all the associations that we have. About two weeks before the surgery, I took myself down to the beach for a couple of nights. I made myself a beautiful altar at the place I was staying and I brought all my food. It was during COVID, so we run out. All in the world has run out, my own food.

I made a little alter for myself, bought some flowers, and I went down to the beach multiple times but one particular time I remember. I went and released some flowers into the ocean and was thinking my uterus for all it had done for me all the years and was ready to release it. I felt a sense of peace at the end of that weekend.

When I went in, I was nervous, anxious and I do not know how I’m feeling about the surgery. By the time I had written in my journal, I had full goddess cards and done the work with the flowers of the ocean, and I felt this sense of peace like, “I can do this. I’m ready to do this.” My surgery went smoothly and was successful. It was good. I was in a good space for it.

It seems to me that these rituals create a tone for the event that is being celebrated and also a beautiful memory for people, which in some way, I would think, anchors the significance of the ceremony and support future intentions. Have you found that to be true that there is less resistance and more go-with-the-flow ease in the unfolding of the future event?

Having time and space to honor and recognize our losses helps us with transitions.

Your reflection is accurate that when we can be intentional about ritual, whether it is before or during an event, it helps us with the integration of life before and after this event. It is a universal thing for us to have a loss like the loss of a pet, a loved one, a job or like in surgery, the loss of a body part. There is life before when my Uncle Johnny was alive, and then there is life after Uncle Johnny and when he is no longer here. Having time and space to honor and recognize helps us with that transition. It gives us keys.

Is there anything else you want our readers to know about Sacred Celebrations that seems important to share?

The reminder for that celebration is such a critical component. Think of a happy, healthy life, and it does not always necessarily have to be a happy thing. I love celebrating the good stuff, birthdays, holidays, weddings, and getting a new client like, “Let’s celebrate. Let’s do something to mark the occasion.” We can also celebrate those hard and difficult things, the losses, grief, transitions because we learned something from that experience. The more we can honor and recognize, whether it is joyful or filled with grief, that is going to help us be more whole and complete.

What are you working on future-wise?

Partly, thanks to you and for being part of the Life Purpose Mastery program. I have developed a product line that goes with the book. I never in one million years would have thought that would have happened. I remember my very first one-on-one with you. This would have been March of 2020. I was telling you about this Sacred Celebrations idea, and at that point, I was working on the book but it still was not fully formed. Somewhere along the way, the idea of a product line came up. I can’t remember if I said it or you said it but we went, “That is it.” Each chapter in the book will ultimately have a product associated with it but I do not have them all developed quite yet. For example, I have a house blessing. In fact, that is the first.

When I moved into my new place, Joanne came over and said, “I have a gift for you.” It was the house blessing kit. It is wonderful.

These ideas behind the products are giving people the tools to create a ritual for themselves. It is not prescriptive. It is just saying, “You have house blessings play. You could walk around and do that while you are saying prayers in each room. You have a candle that you can light. Say prayers and intention.” It is giving them some of the tools but then they can bring in other things that they want to create that more sacred experience and personalize it. The first thing I have is the ritual boxes. The other I have are my dragonfly collection of Sacred Celebrations bracelets. I have other designs as well but these are the ones that are on the Sacred Celebrations’ website.

Dragonfly has been my totem animal for decades, probably since I was a kid. Dragonflies represent resilience, transformation, change, light, love, joy, playfulness, and all of that. When I had my hysterectomy in 2021, I was in recovery, and I did not work for almost about six weeks, my good friend, Sarah Winn, sent me two little dragonfly discs. She said, “I thought about you. I know you love dragonflies. I thought you might want these.”

While I was in recovery and my brain was not firing that well in terms of doing coaching clients and stuff, I pulled out my old jewelry kit and said, “Let me see what I can make with this.” I made my first bracelet and went, “This is cool. Let me see what else I can do.” I started ordering bees, and then an entire jewelry line developed.

What is interesting about this, and it is the exact desired intent that I was hoping, is that when people buy them, they are buying them for special occasions, “My best friend from high school is getting remarried. There is a couple of us that are going to be at the wedding party. I want to buy bracelets for everybody. My best girlfriend from college turned 50 and I’m taking her away on a 50th birthday weekend. I want to buy bracelets for both of us so we have it as a memory of our time together.”

I facilitated a retirement ritual in Asheville, North Carolina in the mountains for a friend who was retiring. She hired me to make six bracelets for all the women who attended. They did not know that was my intention when I started making jewelry but this is all about helping people have a talisman to remember a special occasion or experience in their life.

Should we look at your human design chart?

I would love to because you have helped me so much with this over the years.

AYD 29 Elizabeth Barbour | Rituals
Rituals: We need more intentional, meaningful, magical, sacred spaces in our lives when we're going through big transitions.

What I like to ask all our guests is, what is one thing you are curious about in your life now if we will look at it through the lens of human design?

We could talk a little bit about the open throat. I still struggled with that a little bit because I am a natural communicator. Sometimes I feel like I’m like, “Maybe the open throat can help me understand.”

My sleep has been so off. We have that Leo full Snow Moon that happens. It is weird energy. What are you going to do? This is your chart. Left ankle cross of cycles and you do have a completely open throat. Before I talk about the throat, I want to talk about your incarnation cross because of the cross of cycles, you have got the 53/42 energy in your incarnation cross, which is about your life purpose.

This channel here connects the root of the body to the sex organs and it is about completing things. That is why I think it is interesting that you are focusing on Sacred Celebrations, creating books, instructions, classes, jewelry, and all these different ways for people to complete cycles such that they can move into the next cycle as joyfully, peacefully, etc. as possible. That is part of your purpose. It is something. It is so wonderful when people are aligned.

This throat of yours, there were no gates. There is nothing activated here. It is totally open. You also have an open will. Let’s talk about these two open centers. When a center is totally open, it gives you tremendous flexibility in terms of what that center represents in your physical body, and therefore in your life. The will represents our ability to commit to things, be devoted to things, and essentially keep our promises.

The throat fundamentally is about manifestation for something to occur in the world that we need to communicate. We ask a question, sign an agreement, publish a book. There is some form of throat chakra or throat center communication. With this center, when it is totally open, it gives you great flexibility in choosing the right way to speak based on the situation.

A podcast is a great example because when someone asks you questions, you are prompted in which direction to take your messaging. It depends on the situation. Because you are a sacral generator, it is best for people to ask you questions before you speak anyways. Simply wait until somebody asks you. When they ask you, then you will be able to formulate an answer but if someone turns to you and says, “Go talk,” probably it is a deer in headlights, “We will talk about what? What do you want me to talk about?”

The other person might say, “Think a manifestor. Think of something,” and you say, “I’m not a manifestor. You are informing me to think about something that is not helping. Can you ask me a question?” That is why you need a projector. Projectors and generators have a thing because generators need questions, and projectors’ best form of communication is a question.

Whereas the manifestors are more of the lone wolf. It is not that they do not work with others but they have got their own thing going on. If others are working with them or for them, they are more being informed by the boss. You, as a generator, are so well-served having an advisor or several advisors that are projectors because they ask the most extraordinary questions.

I have two coaches that are projectors and they will give me homework. It is usually in the form of a question. They will say something along the lines of, “I want you to think about X, Y, Z topic. I want you to journal about what is going on in your life every time this topic pops in your head.” I think to myself, “Okay.”

I start doing the exercise every time the topic pops into my head. I reached for my journal, write down what I’m doing, and then started to connect the dots, “This thought pops into my head when I’m feeling this way, I’m worried about that or whatever it might be.” I started to see the connection. I thought to myself, “Smart projector asking me questions, giving me good homework.”

For you, you need that counsel of questions for that undefined throat because otherwise, you can end up being mute and not saying boo or you end up talking too much. If someone asks you a personal question and you go too much information, you might overshare and get into the weeds with details and the other. A person is thinking, “Why is she telling me all this? I’m not sure I need to know all this.” It is much better if they ask you questions and it also frees you from feeling pressured to speak because you have got a defined mind. It is very interesting.

There is no way for what is coming through the 64/47 channel to get down to the throat. You need other people that could even get your ideas out into the world. I would not recommend that you are in charge of marketing. You are here to speak but more in this context as a 5/1 profile. You are here to universalize a new consciousness, which you are doing with the Sacred Celebrations, an older tradition something common to the human experience and you put a new spin on it. In a sense, reeducating people about the value of marking life’s transitions.

The only fight that matters is the fight for your life's purpose.

You will be visible doing that but your best time is spent using your creativity to fuel your ambition by creating content, which is what you are doing, writing books, having products. You need a midsize team when I look at your design, maybe 3 to 15 people. One of the other things you’ve got going that is great is this 57/34 channel right into the sacral. It is pure, intuitive power. It is not verbal. It is an energy that moves you in the direction of things. It’s because you are sacral, you can move pretty quickly, as long as you check-in for the yes or no sound.

For all the readers who have sacral authority in their human design chart, you need someone to ask you yes or no questions, or worst-case scenario. Record the yes or no questions into your phone and listen back because it is always very depressing to me when a sacral person is not having a good time with it. I find out where their head is and I think, “They are making decisions from their mind.” Your mind is very strong but notice that it does not have any idea what is going on down in the body.

One of the biggest things I learned from you in Life Purpose Mastery was understanding that our mind is for gathering information and that our bodies are for decision-making.

Your body is instinctive. You are designed to move on the impulse of sound. It is very acoustic and also there is a component of dealing in the abstract. You have a nice balance when I look at this chart. There is a bit of tribal energy. There is a fair amount of individual energy, which is empowering yourself and others. There is a bit of the collective abstract, which is about creating experiences. In many ways, you are here to move on this impulse to build a legacy and an empire but do it through a very nurturing approach. You have Gate 22. I call this the hostess with the mostess.

It is such beautiful energy, very gracious, and it is important because your North node in your design, which is where you are moving in your life, is in Gate 22. This is about creating events. It is being an event, ritual or celebration planner. That is a correct use of your energy. You are moving away from mental oppression and feeling like you have to coach people through their mental blocks, which is what you did in the past.

People were drawn to in the past over on the personality side, they were drawn to this 64-Gate and 64 line 2 where you were going to help them overcome confusion because they are having difficulty in making decisions. Now you are interested in people that have already made decisions but have a doubt about their future.

They have made a decision, let’s say, to have awake for Uncle O’Brien or to have the surgery because they have got a serious problem we need to deal with. They have made that decision but now they have doubt and they want to feel good about their decision, similar to your description of going to the ocean a few times, preparing yourself for this surgery, and dealing with your fears, anxieties, hopes, and dreams about a good outcome, which you invariably had.

You are moving on the personality side. What people see is that you are available to help people stay congruent with their powerful decision during the transition and not allow doubt to derail them or, in a sense, poison the outcome. In many ways, what you are doing is a preventative measure against future problems and toxicity.

It is operating on several levels in this chart. You are helping the person on an individual level to feel empowered, that 57/34, the 54/32, this is entrepreneurial. This is part of the ego circuit. It is tribal and it is about creating a legacy for the tribe and your immediate family but also for your team, employees, and clients that everybody profits from these ventures. It is very important to you. You also have Gate 14, which has a similar frequency of wanting to develop your skills, such that you always are prosperous.

When people have Gate 14, it allows for a very nimble and quick adjustment to what life throws at you in terms of pivoting towards new skills you need to learn. When people have this ability, they tend to make a lot of money because they should not have real rigid rules about how the manifestation occurs.

Especially as a sacral person, you do not know what your future is going to look like. Did you anticipate years ago your life would look the way it does now? No. Part of this surrender, particularly for generators and manifesting generators, comes about from lining up with your design, making good decisions from your sacral, and then surrendering the outcome because you do not have the privilege of knowing what it is going to look like.

You are not even supposed to know. The universe has it set up this way because if we knew, we might almost jinx it or the anticipation of it gets in the way energetically. It can be difficult if you are around people who can see into the future, as some people can, and they tell you things. I often say to those people, “Please, do not tell them.” I do not want to know because then it plants a seed of expectation.

If you are excited about it, it does not happen. You are disappointed or you are scared about it, and it does happen and you are disappointed. It is much better to do our best to surrender to the no. Particularly in your design, it is a very present design. You are in the now. You are quite jovial and committed to being this bright light for people.

AYD 29 Elizabeth Barbour | Rituals
Rituals: The ritual that would work best for you is going to be different from others. It's going to be different from somebody else. It's all based on our life experiences.

It’s because of Gate 27, you have multiple times, which is very nurturing. Gate 6, wants harmony. Gate 22 is the gracious hostess. You do a 49, which is revolution. You have 28, which is the discovery of life purpose and living that purpose, then Gate 18, you have multiple times, which is about correcting things, not people but situations.

Often I find people with Gate 18 are designers of some sort. They might be interior designers, Feng Shui specialists, jewelry, designers, makeup designers or clothing designers. It is to beautify things. To me, Gate 18 is seeing what is spoiled and then bringing beauty to it. Not criticism or complaint saying, “This is how it is. How can we make it beautiful? How can we make it joyful? How can we just make it better for everyone without tearing people down, attacking or criticizing?”

Your mother was a great gift to you for being controlling because Gate 18 is very controlling in the shadow and you have it multiple times. One of the manifestations of Gate 18 in an individual’s personality can be this edge of control, being controlling, critical of others, and nitpicky. You get an A on the test and someone says to you, usually your parent, “Why did not you get an A-plus?” You are thinking, “Could we celebrate that I’ve got an A, please?”

Sometimes we are given difficult parents because we have such a big destiny in the world as you do. You have the most transpersonal profile with the 5/1, meaning you are here to universalize these concepts we have been discussing around cycles and celebrations. You are here to bring this information to the masses. Often the difficult people from our past, if we have a transpersonal, this is particular to transpersonal, they are coming to dump karma on us. Our job is to not accept the karma but to learn the lesson that they are bringing. This is particular to 5/1s, 5/2s, 6/2s, and 6/3s, the four transpersonal profiles.

People come and dump their karma or try to, and the trans personnel’s job is to say, “I’m handing your toxic crap back to you because it is yours to deal with and I’m going to give you some space. The door is always open when you are ready to talk with me about it in a rational and loving manner or else, we are not talking about it.”

The difficult people for transpersonals are often crying to do their creation of karma pattern that they have been doing lifetime after lifetime, relationship after relationship. They are playing the controlling one, dominating one, or the victim, being the manipulator, liar, deceiver, or whatever it might be, being passive or being passive-aggressive.

Your incarnation or purpose is about helping cycles beginning, middle, and end. It is the whole cycle, soup to nuts, how you finish things, as the saying goes is, “How you start things.” You are here to help people finish things so they can start things correctly, work through that process and celebrate their completion. When a difficult person comes in and they are trying to dump their karma, as a 5/1 profile, your job is to very gently say no to the dumping like, “Not for me. I’m looking for some a-ha satisfaction and this is not bringing it.”

You filter things through this sound frequency. It is shocking to me that sacral people do not get in the habit of this. Part of it is they want to hang on to the toxicity and negative patterns. The problem is when they come in contact with you, there is no way. They can’t be in your presence and keep up their nonsense. 1 of 2 things will happen. They will either transform for the sake of the relationship.

They will say to you, “Elizabeth, you are worth it. This is dysfunctional. I’m going to clean this up because I value our relationship,” or they need to go away from you because either their cycle is something they need to complete far away from you because it is not helpful to you or they need to go away from you because they are being toxic, difficult, running interference, and you need them away. You are pretty good at heading these things off in the past.

The last thing I would offer to you with this undefined heart, and this is another interesting thing is you can never make promises with this. I have told people with an open heart, “Have a clause in your contracts that says, ‘I can cancel even in a 24-hour period if I do not feel like it.’” With Gate 22, you have to feel like it anyways.

This is a chart of do not do things when you do not feel like it because you will pay the price. A lot of the conditioning in the world is to work hard, be disciplined, and be consistent. Those things are true if they jive with your design but your chart is not about discipline. Your chart is about easy-breezy prosperity by spreading love and letting your mind do the research.

Your mind is there to watch. It is to observe life as it passes by. It is the bobblehead passenger, “Look at all this cool stuff going by.” That is what the mind is but it is totally disconnected from the rest of your body, so you can’t trust it at all. You are like, “Thanks for sharing. I will sit on the shelf. Go find me some clients, vendors, and more supplies. Stop talking. Leave me alone,” because your body is like, “hmm, uh-uh.” It is that simple for you but you are not here to make promises, dig in, and force yourself to be disciplined.

The thing is you do have Gate 9 where you can be very focused and you have Gate 60 where you have to wait anyway. You are forced to wait on things. You can’t move past the sacral, “Hmm, uh-uh.” It will tell you all the time, “Should I start now? How about now? Next week?” “Yes.” If you keep pushing Gate 60, you will know because you will get a pulse. You say, “Now?” You get this feeling in your body of almost like moving forward a little bit. Have you never experienced that?

I have.

Going through a year of the life-purpose master program is life-changing.

It is leaning towards the thing you want to create. Let’s stop here. Before we wrap up, any a-ha’s from this?

One of the biggest things you said to me around the business piece is, “You should not be in charge of marketing.” I thought, “That is such a relief,” because I have done all my own marketing for all these years because I have been a solopreneur but as I’m growing the Sacred Celebrations business and the brand, I will be bringing different people onto the team. I needed to hire a marketing person.

That will be a great hire. That is your next step.

That is my next hire.

You could get the book launch in place now. You can get everything in place. The publisher you are working with is terrific. In my experience, they are very amenable to collaborating on launches. You might want to brainstorm about, “If I brought in a launch specialist to help me market this thing, how would that free you up? How could we use those resources in a different way that maybe they have planned to use?” You then get a double whammy.

If you are paying for support to work on the launch then they can allocate the book resources to some other marketing things. You have a lot of options here in terms of how big you want this book to go. This is the book that gets you on CNN and the major networks. This is the book that builds your YouTube following. That is my intuitive hit. As a 5/1, you have got to be out there and teaching about this. You need to set things up, so you have got a projector around you to ask you questions.

That was a good reminder. I have two friends in particular who are projectors, who are good with that. I will be on the lookout for who is projector coming into my list.

Any words of wisdom you want to leave our community with before we wrap up?

Spend as much time with Baeth and the Align To Your Design folks as you can. I went through a year of the Life Purpose Master program with her and it has been life-changing business-wise, relationship-wise, and energy-wise, all of it. In fact, I have a lot of people looking at me and going like, “You are all glowy. What is going on?”

It is because I have gotten in touch with my life purpose. It is one thing to know it. Baeth, something that you are gifted with is you help us embody, live, breathe, feel, sleep and dream it. It becomes a part of our whole experience because a lot of times, people are like, “I find out what my life purpose is,” then they just go off and do whatever. By studying with you and digging into the human design, it allows you to integrate it into your whole experience.

It is part of our DNA to have a purpose. The ignorance of the purpose, not knowing the purpose, not embracing the purpose is very toxic to a person’s life. As I’m fond of saying, the only fight that matters is the fight for your life purpose. All these fights in the world are every single fight I defy anyone to tell me otherwise.

Every single fight and down to the individual level where couples are fighting, trying to change each other is because people are not focused on their purpose. All those fights are a distraction because when you are living your purpose, first of all, you do not want to get into it with people. Also, you are not unwilling to confront situations but you do it with grace and with heart. You respect the other person even if the other person is very difficult, manipulative or toxic and you need to set boundaries.

Respect for that person is where they are at on their journey. They are in that place and we have all been in dark places and the shadow of our design. It is wonderful to see you fully embody that you do indeed help people learn about the cycles of their life, start to take them seriously, and bring consciousness to the cycle so that one cycle ends and a new cycle can begin without all that emotional, spiritual, psychological baggage from the past. What a remarkable gift. Thank you so much for being here.

Ali Brown, Manifesting Generator: Hope For The Future Of Business

Internationally Recognized Business Mentor, Ali Brown, Gets Raw & Real

You are attending the show where I interview people that I feel are living their design in real-time, having a great time doing it, influencing and impacting the lives of other people, and inspiring other people to align to their design. No matter what business you're in, your job is to make other people's lives easier, smoother and more fun. Whether you sell tires or coaching, you're here to bring more ease, success and joy to your clients, customers, family and friends.

Our aim here is to help you get true to you. You know that saying, “You do you, boo.” The saying that we abide by is you've got to learn your own design so you can customize your life to you because what you learn out there isn't going to help you in the long run, and you will have to dismantle a whole lot of it.

I'm super excited about our guest. She's one of my dearest friends. Back in 2005, I was the first person to sign up for her first online workshop. I attended that workshop three times. I have coached with her and watched her become one of the most recognized entrepreneur coaches in the world. You may have heard of her. Her name is Ali Brown. She has built a coaching and consulting enterprise that has ranked in the Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing private companies in the nation.

She was also named one of ForbesWomen to Watch, one of Ernst & Young's winning women entrepreneurs, and was an entrepreneur delegate for the United Nations Foundation's Global Accelerator Program, which she and I talked about before it happened. We both saw it. I said, “You're going to go to the UN.” She said, “Yes,” and she did before she got the invite. Ali was also featured on the ABC hit primetime show, Secret Millionaire. I recommend you to gold watch that episode on YouTube. It's such a moving episode. She has over 250,000 followers via AliBrown.com. You can find her there. Her social media channels are rocking.

I love her Instagram account. She's always doing great lives there. She has Glambition® Radio show on iTunes where she interviews 7, 8, and 9-figure and beyond women entrepreneurs who have these extraordinary stories, much like Ali’s of being in one place in their life and coming up with a solution, and bringing it to market. Please subscribe to her podcast, become a follower and leave a review. Her coaching and mentorship have been featured on CNN.com and many other major media outlets.

She has been named by Entrepreneur Magazine as having one of the Top 10 Twitter Accounts Every Entrepreneur Should Be Following, so follow her on Twitter. Ali is a frequent traveler with their husband, Brett, and their four-year-old twins. They live between Arizona, Southern California and Sydney, Australia. She has created an organization called The Trust, a premier network organization for high seven-figure and beyond women entrepreneurs. There are very few networking groups for women of this caliber.

You may be experiencing this if you're in that range of success financially in your business that a lot of the groups you join don't have peers. She's created a peer network that leads to amazing business collaborations, great business deals, amazing learning and support. Check out her organization JoinTheTrust.org. Let's bring on the amazing, beautiful, brilliant, reverent, and most talented business coach I've ever had, Ms. Ali Brown. It's so good to be with you. It’s nice to see you.

It’s good to see you too. Even though some days I prefer audio, I was like, “This would be good to see Baeth.”

It's great for people to see you because you are beautiful and telegenic. You also have such a wonderful energy about you when you're teaching and presenting. You really draw people in. Will you share with everyone where you were before you decided to become an entrepreneur and then how you became an international mentoring sensation? Most of my clients will tell me, “On my dream board, I have Ali Brown and Oprah,” and they list some other people but you're on people's dream boards. You've reached dream board level

Information is helpful, but it changes all the time. The person you’re becoming is the gift in all this.

It's funny going back because as we get older, you count the years. It’s almost weird to go back because it seems like so long ago, but it is good to go back because everyone needs to hear how things started. I'm glad things started when they did, and it was before I had a lot of people to compare myself to. There were no social media, and the web was new.

It's 1998 and I’m trying to put you in the right frame of mind. Maybe a year or two earlier, the number one song was Macarena. Let's go back to the ‘90s, hip hop, Salt-N-Pepa, and the exciting thing at the time was the web was so relatively new. It was like, “This thing is going to come out and connect the world, and we're all going to be a part of it.” We didn’t really understand it. That's how it started. I switched from job to job, and I thought something was wrong with me because I kept thinking, “Everyone I graduated school with has had the same job 3 or 4 years.” I'm hopping around and I'm restless. There's this restlessness.

There was one point I was working full-time at a publishing company. I was teaching step aerobics. I was selling vitamins off my bicycle. I joined a network marketing company. I was having fun. I was trying stuff on, and I'd see people so scared to do that. I would try it and say, “I'll buy into this thing and sell these vitamins. If no one buys them, I'll take them all myself.”

My last job was at this little ad agency in New York, and I worked for these two older, Orthodox Jewish guys. I was the first outsider they led into this agency. They didn't know what to make of it. I came from this healthcare background where the last job I had was I wrote newsletters for health insurance companies who would publish magazine-style newsletters for their insurance holders. They said, “You, healthcare.” If you've ever been to hire for a job, you can say like, “Can you start today? You have healthcare experience here.” They brought me in and stuck me in a corner. I loved it though, because I got to create this whole plan. They signed this huge hospital program in New Jersey and didn't know what they were doing.

I was 26 and I was like, “These guys don't know what they're doing,” but they trusted me and I felt so proud. I knew what a big deal it was for them to let someone new in, put me in the back and say, “You work with the clients.” I figured this whole thing out myself. They said, “We have a printer and a designer. Here you go.”

That is when I started realizing I'd probably love to run my own thing and work for myself because I was doing everything from getting the ad copy out to the clients. I knew how to fix the fax machine because when Tony's rabbi would come in, it would always break. All these stories are going in my book. I realized that I'm not writing a business principle book. It's all these hysterical stories from New York. The place was like a comedy, but what changed was when I had a freelancer coming in and out. His name is Eric, and he did the design. I got to know him because we would sit there and move the clip art, nudge it over and try to get the columns right.

Finally I said, “How do you freelance? What is freelancing? I noticed you're not here all day. I've seen your invoices. You charge well. You come back then from The Hamptons. How do I freelance?” He's like, “You could do this easily. There are many ad agencies in town that don't hire full-time copywriters or designers. You could get some gigs and probably make twice as much as you can make now.”

My jaw dropped, and my awareness shifted in a way that had never shifted before. I was like, “How soon could I do this? It’s because I've gotten a little disenchanted with the office, and they wouldn't update it. There was 1 bathroom with 8 men and 2 women.” I decided to leave. I remember going to the Barnes & Noble down in Union Square and picking a book off the shelf. At the time, it wasn't $100,000 grand. Now it said Secrets of a Freelancer Writer, Second Edition: How To Make $85,000 A Year by Bob Bly. I picked up that paperback and started to learn how to work for myself and get gigs.

I walked into ad agencies, asked for referrals and joined networking groups. I'm so glad looking back that there was no way to do it online at that moment because I had no one to compare myself to. I had no one to even ask what they thought. I had no choice but to do it. That is how that started. The turning point was when I started an email newsletter. There are ten clients that had been put together and a few colleagues. This was all there was at the time in my AOL address book. This is how we start things.

I started sharing a bit about what I knew. I started teaching like, “These are some things that I've seen are working.” If you could say you wrote web copy, these ad agencies would pull you in. They thought you were like a new God in this new media that no one knew how to do. I wrote a bit about that and started to grow the newsletter. People started asking me, “How are you marketing with an email newsletter?”

I was like, “I don't know a lot but I've done enough to get some clients from this, so why don't I write an eBook on this?” It’s because I’ve started to see eBooks. I bought an eBook on how to sell eBooks online and put it up. I sold it for $37 and would start selling products online. This was fun. I miss these days. It was simple. I had no one to say, “I'm not doing as good as her.” Everything was so new. I loved learning. That turned into people asking me for more business advice and teleseminars where you had those classes on the phone.

I was doing them before they had Bridge Lines muted. You would hear people flushing and making dinner. It was such an exciting time. That turned into bigger conferences, big home study kits, and all this stuff during the heyday of that time. We were shipping out our products and speaking of so much fun. Where I landed that I loved so much was the coaching end of this because the information is helpful, but it changes all the time. When I'm working with the people, it's the person you're becoming that is the gift in all this. In the end, who I'm here to help are the leaders who are transforming through this process of growing a business.

AYD 19 | Future of Business
Future of Business: When social came on, it ruined the party. Suddenly, everyone was on there. Everyone could copy each other so easily.

What a beautiful realization through your own journey that you are here to profoundly help someone develop in a sense their truth and depth.

Jim Rohn said that. If you don't know who Jim Rohn was, he was Tony Robbins' original mentor. Tony took a lot of those ideas, added cool music, and flew through the air. Jim Rohn was the originator of a lot of that type of thinking. He said, “You don't become a millionaire for $1 million. You become a millionaire for the person you become in the process.” I remember sitting with that for days going, “That is what it's about.” Especially for women, you break through that first million, and there are chance launches and these things you if you land backward and gold. When you earn it, who you are at that stage, you've learned to likely manage a team, you know who your friends are. You've had this bomb, and you've probably blown up a relationship. There are all these check marks on the way to that point.

I was asked in the interview with Business Insider. They said, “Why did you choose to work with women?” I said, “It's because it’s fascinating and a much more holistic journey for them than men.” I know you work with women and men, Baeth. I have in the past. People don't know that but I do take on male clients sometimes, and I find it quite boring. It's a very linear process for many of the situations I've been in. That's changing. There are many more men now involved in a business that is more holistic-viewed and can pull a conversation we could have. For women, this is such a personal journey in who they're becoming.

In part, it's because of how our brains are structured. Men, in general, are very single-focused. If you give them a task, they're very good at being single-focused and getting that task done, whereas, in the female brain, everything's connected, left and right hemisphere. We are almost always aware of everything at all times. I know where the dog is in the house.

When I used to have kids, I knew where they were. I know how much food in the fridge, and always get gas for the car. We're aware of all of it. It’s because more of that circular awareness, we can't go towards the goal without understanding how it impacts the rest of what we do. You often give clients the opposite advice of most coaches. I wondered if you could tell us more about that. Give us a couple of examples.

It didn't start that way. Meeting you was such a pivotal turning point for me because you were the first to sign up for my workshop in 2005. That's when I was very much about teaching. I would get information and teach. I showed you guys how to do HTML code to teach everyone out. I loved teaching what I knew and sharing it. Once I got into the internet stuff, I learned a lot from watching the guys. I loved what they built, and we need that. I'm going to quote my friend, Claudia Chan, “The world needs a mom and a dad.” That's very true. We need the feminine and the masculine.

I learned from emulating them because I was looking at the bigger launches. I'm like, “We'll do things this way.” As I built, I got a bit disenchanted with everything. You met me before when I was still building, and I was so excited. You've been so privy to my journey that you saw a turning point where I also started to see the big levelizer when the social came on. It ruined the party for me. In social, suddenly everyone was on there. Everyone could copy each other so easily. There were suddenly template websites.

Sometimes we wait too long and have that little wake-up call when we realize either we've not been so clear in what we stand for or we've not been acknowledging it.

I'm not saying it's not good to have things easy, but you could do it even if you didn't want to and earn it. It was crazy. I started to look at what was happening, and I'm thinking, “If I'm just teaching information, that's very easy to knock off and copy. It's going to change all the time.” This isn't why I'm here. I don't want my epitaph to say, “She taught the online blueprint.” It was evolving but I was still enjoying it. I still helped so many people.

It was great but there's this little inkling, which many of us have at times like this, “What's the next chapter? What's this about?” I started looking at a few things. One was the internal part of this and what I desire like, “Why am I here?” Externally, I was starting to lose my positioning. My team is getting questions about, “What's the difference between Ali's program and the coach that dances in our videos?” I'm like, “What?”

If you’re dancing your reels and make money, God bless you. I don’t have the energy for that market. It’s too much going on. I started to see all this craziness and I'm like, “Wow.” If people don't see the difference now, then I need to pick a new lane like Inc. 500, the UN, and all this stuff like Secret Millionaire. From an external perspective, sometimes we wait too long, and there will be a little wakeup call when you realize either you've not been so clear in what you stand for or you've not been acknowledging it.

I got sucked into that lowest common denominator marketing and trying to help everyone. This is a multi-layered answer but it's very important because we wait on both. Sometimes, we wait too long to say, “Do I have permission to make a change? What do I want?” Even if things are going well, you’re trapped in an excellence-type of thing.

If you've not been watching what's going on in your industry, then you may be thrown for a loop because suddenly, people won't be able to tell why they should invest in your program. Why would they want to work with you? Why would they want to buy your product? That's the external conversation in all this. All I knew was like, “If I want to stand out immediately and probably honor myself, I'm going to start dismantling this stuff,” and I started to.

2011 was when I was on the show, Secret Millionaire. That was a life-changing show. If you want to see it, you can still see it on Amazon and Hulu. You'll see me transform on that show. You'll see me go through an experience that re-oriented me and get clear on what I wanted because I hadn't had the space to do it. I had to live among the homeless for a week to have that space in my life to think about what the next level would be like. I was at a point I had every five minutes of my day scheduled and having a blast, but then at night quietly going like, “Where's this going?”

AYD 19 | Future of Business
Future of Business: If you haven't been watching what's going on in your industry, then you may be thrown for a loop because suddenly, people won't be able to tell why they should invest in your program.

All these experiences could have pointed me in this new direction to start to want something different and made some big changes. I decided to dismantle some of the programs I’ve built. I wanted to make a lot of space. I wanted things to be simple again. I wanted to only work with the clients where I knew that I was in my absolute sweet spot and had no competition in that particular lane. That's working with the women in 7 and 8-figures as far as coaching them individually, working with them and nurturing them. I made the shift for myself.

I had no idea how beneficial making that shift would also be externally, and getting so clear that I wanted to do things so differently that it was a marketing and a positioning tool like, “Ali only does one-on-one coaching. No one does that anymore but Ali's doing it. That's all she does.” That's all I did at the time before I started The Trust. It's a saying that's been around for a while, “If you want success, look at what 99% of the world is doing, then you do or the people in your industry do the opposite.” It's a sure way to stand out and get clear on what matters to you.

For example, clients come in and we'll do the VIP day, which I love in person. There's still nothing like it because we shut the doors, we have a huge whiteboard and we're like, “Let's go.” We start mapping everything out. Very often, they've gotten locked into a model that they started because in our industry, this is what we all do. You build it this way. You have three levels of programs, and then you have a mastermind. I'm talking about the business coaching space.

I walk up with a red marker and I'm like, “What can we start? What do we take out?” It’s because they have no space, but they have a long conversation, they know that something has to change. What they've built was determined by this point is not sustainable, scalable or enjoyable. What are those options? When we make space for them to then think about, “How could you do this differently? What is this about?” It could be as easy as making a program simpler. It could be them suddenly not being accessible to anyone. It could be taking them off social media. I love poking at things, prodding them, and saying, “How can you do this in a way that is so in line with who you are and unlike anyone else out there?” That's the fun part for me.

That's a long answer but it started with my shift, which I was worried about. My ego was like, “How am I going to be received? Who am I if I'm not doing huge events with acrobats?” Part of me was like, “Ali was always doing the big thing. If she did big, I’d do bigger. I’ll bigger my biggerest. Let’s do it.” It became about a whole different game and honoring the metrics that mattered to me and not looking at what anyone else was doing.

If you want success, look at what 99% of the world is doing, then do the opposite.

It occurred to me that our readers could maybe figure out what their metrics are. What are your fulfillment metrics? Pick five and keep it simple.

That's going to be changing now, freedom is metric. Time-off and not working Fridays are metrics. Some of you may not be working on Tuesdays. It’s something that you want to do every week. It's changing the game, and this is a microcosm for what's going on in the world now. The old systems, matrices and the paradigms, everything is being blown up now. It's terrifying and exciting at the same time because we are reinventing all the new models. Here we are with all this control over our own business, and many of us are paralyzed to make changes. We're moving as slow as a corporation when you can decide to instantly like, “I don't work Tuesdays.”

I take Mondays off now, which is a game-changer for me to not have to wake up Monday and work.

That’s nice to get your head around the week.

Plan the week, be easy to the week, and do things your own way. It's brilliant. You take people through this process and help them figure out what to keep, what to shift, create space for new ideas, new approaches to come in, and show them they can pivot quickly because they're nimble. What are some of the strategies that your seven-figure-plus clients have been implementing of late that are working well?

People want more high touch now. People who want different texts have taken over. If you have an opportunity now to sell anything in person, in small groups, and where people get something real from you, you have a huge advantage. Not everyone is up for that until we get that, but people are craving connection, gathering and new experiences. That's going to be the next level of doing business. There's a bifurcation in so many places in the world nowadays, and then you see these splitting everything from incomes, and how we look at things to the Ascension Language, you have the 3D and the 5D.

There will be a bifurcation in how people want to be worked with. There’s a tech. There's the low touch. Everything is apps, instant click. You have a brain fart and something is delivered from Amazon. You don't have to think about anything. There's going to be this whole other side of gathering, connection, and that high-touch transformational work with people. You and people who are a lot in these spaces, there will be incredibly increased demand for these experiences and services. I see that in my clients as well.

Many of them have a mix now, but when they are doing more of that high touch, and it's about quality of life and the meaning of the work they do, they're getting a lot of response. I want to give you credit too. I want to draw into the work that we did together. There was a lot of this time that I felt so different. I remember you were in my events and programs. I'm like, “Can I get a reading from you?” That's back when you were doing solely the hand analysis at that time. I finally felt that I wasn't abnormal. I finally understood more about how I was wired.

I always had some confidence. It wasn't a lack of confidence, but it was a little confusion over why I was here, why I always felt different and never felt like I fit into a group. I don't go to a lot of things, probably because I feel like a bit of an oddball. When you did that very first reading for me, and we did several from that point on, and when you link in the human design, my mind was blown because it finally explained also these waves of how I would feel that I would beat myself up.

I’m like, “I'm not on. Why am I not wanting to power through this and make it happen?” I see people doing that, and that's where social for me was the death of me. If I pay too much attention to that, I'm like, “I'm not doing enough. I'm not marketing enough. There are not enough people that know what I'm doing and how cool I am.” I get overwhelmed with that stuff, so then I would shut it off and hide. You said that's how you're designed. I said, “Really?” These waves and honoring who we are, that's the whole new journey that we're on. I'm happy to talk about that if that's where you want to go.

AYD 19 | Future of Business
Future of Business: The old systems, matrices, and paradigms are being blown up now. It's terrifying and exciting at the same time because we are reinventing all the new models.

What we're on in understanding our design, whether we use hand analysis, human design or straight ahead astrology, is that we're moving into a time where the person who is individuated or differentiated into their true self. They have the advantage because they're more creative, they don't need to look outside themselves for their answers and their inner-directed rather than outer. We're all designed to be in response to our environment, but we're not meant to make our decisions from the authority of other people. We're meant to make our decisions internally.

This is a pretty development in our evolution. 1,781 are decisions moved from the mind to the body. That's the first thing. You've got to be inside your body and be able to feel your body to even know, “I'm going to cancel that meeting because I'm not in a meeting mood. I want to be there for those people, and they deserve the best of me but I deserve the best of me, which means I'm canceling the meeting.” Your design in particular, you're here to be influential to other influential people. There is a rarefied quality.

One of your gates is 31, which is influence and you have Line 3, which is about exclusivity. Much of what we're taught is, “My design is to include everyone who wants to play provided they don't throw sand at anyone. They're welcome.” It’s not your design. Your design says you're only able to lead those who lead, which is what your business is about. It’s calling on other leaders to show how leadership is done.

Being a leader to leaders is a very important role that often gets overlooked because mostly leaders are leading a community, they’re the spokesperson for their corporation or whatever they’re doing. That’s maybe impacting others, but who’s helping and leading them? The other thing in your design is so interesting. You have this exclusivity piece being an influencer to influencers and a leader to leaders. The other side of it is you have the design of a profound healer and transformation agent.

One of the things that your design requires is that you go on retreat frequently. Your day will have downtime structured in the way you set up your day. We’ll have a lot of spaciousness. You’ll take little retreats right at the local hotel like, “Here’s my phone number. I’m going to be there for two days to work on my book or whatever.” You may know like you described, completely dismantle what you're doing and disappear for a while as you regroup, and then the rumor mill starts, “Did Ali Brown quit?” “I heard she downsized.”

People are craving connection, gathering, and new experiences. That's going to be the next level of doing business.

People will make up stories. When the fact is when Ali Brown retreats and goes inward, you get stronger, not weaker. You have the design that requires copious amounts of introspection and alone time in order to bring that next creation forward. As a result, you're not designed to be constantly out front of people. You'll have a social media blitz when you have something to promote, but otherwise, if you're out there once a week or every two weeks, it's not going to matter for you because it will be correct.

I need to hear it again and again because I do still feel the constant pull and pressure. For example, the solution is that when I'm in the mood, I'll put Instagram back on my phone and take it off. I'll put it wherever I want to post. You’ll know because I’ll start doing a story blitz on things that I’m feeling, memes and things that go on in the world. I’ll cool it for a while and my team will keep up the regular posts and I’ll be on there again. It’s so perfect, and to honor that and be like, “We don't need six posts a day and X percent engagement.” It's so different.

I have a couple more questions for you, then we'll look at your chart. One thing I want to address here is that you and I are emotional types. Fifty percent of humanity is emotional in how they make decisions. There are seven other decision-making processes. The emotional type is the most common, and it's also one of the most difficult. The reason is emotional type people almost never have 100% clarity about anything. We have to get to 67%.

If it feels pretty good and it's not either triggering fear, anxiety or on the other side, massive ecstatic excitement, neither one of those is good for decision-making. It's more a calm feeling like, “I'm ready to do this thing.” It’s because of that, half of the world's population is not consistent in how they show up. We've put this huge thing on consistency. Consistency is a masculine attribute. It is not a yin feminine attribute. Consistency, structure, even alignment, and purpose are very masculine. It lives in men and women.

If women get too caught up in being consistent, it does not honor their flow. Women technically have a cycle so even if the woman is not an emotional type, she still has a body that doesn't consistently perform. If women do not get 8 to 9 hours of sleep at night, they don't function. Their hormones are all out of whack. We can't perform because everything in our body is so we can grow a baby. That's how our biology is. We've got to eat, sleep right, and have copious amounts of non-stress time to even have our brain function and fire the neurons properly.

You look at most women and they're operating like men. There's this huge pressure to be consistent, “Be consistent in your marketing. Be consistent on how you show up.” I don't have any consistency in my chart but you have a little bit. People will say to me, “I need you to be more consistent.” I'm like, “I'm not the person for you.” I flat out tell them, “You will never get consistency for me.” I will honor my word but that's different.

We are the more emotional types. Your waves, they're literally waves that go up and down. You're here when you're calm and feel like, “I'm ready to come on a retreat.” You come right out and out comes The Trust. Remember, you and I talked and you'd already created it but you hadn't announced it. I said to you, “Ali, you need a group that's exclusive, maybe a networking group.”

We'll look at that because one of the things about everybody's design is everyone is designed to make money and work. It's just how you work. There’s a type called the projector. They're the opposite of you. They can only do a few things at a time and they need a ton of sleep and downtime. They're trying to be the worker bees, and it's a nightmare for them until they learn to be correct and embrace their laziness. Speaking of that, you have a term called excellence burnout. This is a perfect segue to that question. What is excellence burnout, and what are the signs that a woman is possibly on the brink of or deep into excellence burnout?

Excellence burnout is where I was. It’s where you are proven and generate the money sometimes. Often, we build a whole brand around ourselves in excellence but we're craving the genius. I got this concept from Gay Hendricks's book, The Big Leap, which I often give to my clients because they will be at a level where they are trapped in excellence. This can be for people on many different levels, but those of us in a business, especially for a long time and you see people out there that they can work off in the same brand and messaging forever.

AYD 19 | Future of Business
Future of Business: Excellence burnout is where you are proven and generate the money. Often we build a whole brand around ourselves in excellence, but we're craving the genius.

I kept thinking why I need to be more consistent, so I need to do something for years at a time and lock-in. That's where I got trapped. I had no creative space and a place to do some things that I wanted to do. The business worked. It's what I designed, but then I was trapped in it. I mentioned this because a lot of people are this way with their businesses and jobs. There's nothing to complain about, so sometimes they feel almost like, “Do I have the right to even say that I like something different and something better?” It’s because in here, all your prayers come true. Everything on my vision board was pretty much checked off.

Kids were not on the vision board by the way, and that came later in the story. We’re having a great time. It’s all good. It's all the beautiful part of the journey and very much part of the story in the end because until I made that space, I had no idea of the wild ride that was in store. Some symptoms when you're experiencing the excellence burnout, if you're starting to feel a little resentful of your schedule and work, you don't have freedom in your business, unconsciously starting to self-sabotage things a little bit if you go way too long like things blowing, not working or team leaving. That means it’s probably way too long.

Here's a great solution. The first few things you should do for that first is to make space wherever you can. Secondly, I tell clients, “You may not be able to get out of this thing now.” This isn't like a decision you make quickly but add on a creative project. For me, that was Glambition® Radio. People were like, “What was the strategy behind your podcast?” I'm like, “We launched that when podcasts weren't cool.” I wanted the opportunity to have incredible in-depth conversations with these women leaders that I wasn't seeing anywhere else. You don't see it covered in Fast Company or Inc. It’s not how I built my business. It's like, “Who have you become? What's the wisdom you want to impart?”

I remember being on this team call. There must have been ten people on this call alone. When I mentioned the podcast, they all went crazy because they started planning like, “What's the upsell? What's the down-sell? How are we going to use this? How has it been in the plan?” I said, “Stop. I'm doing a podcast because I want to do a podcast. This is mine. No one is touching it. This is my thing.”

How funny that I came full circle to wanting to do something all on my own in this magical way? I'm like, “There are all going to be a whole other level of comments.” That was my slow escape from excellence into genius. It’s the best tool I've had to connect with incredible women and stay in touch with them. Many of them have said, “I'd love to join what you're doing or I'd love to come to speak.” It's been an incredible tool. I'm glad I started it earlier.

It's a wonderful podcast, and I encourage everyone to check out Glambition® Radio with Ali Brown and leave a review. I have one more question, then we're going to look at your chart. Where do you see the business going after 2020 and even 2021 of this pandemic? What do you see?

Make space wherever you can.

There are a few factors going on. Firstly, you have the Great Resignation. I first heard Dave Ramsey coin that phrase, “You have many people being unlocked or forced out of their jobs now. It's an incredible thing to see happening that people are finally realizing that they have some freedom they've had all along, but it's going to force them to do something and live differently.” You're going to see more people coming into work for themselves. Overall, it's a big question. The wonderful thing about this is that we were being forced to unlock living our lives the way we've always wanted to. A quick example for me is homeschooling my kids. When I thought of homeschooling, I thought of the Duggar’s.

I liked the part making them do chores and stuff. The weirdness started happening and we weren't sure what school was going to be. They were going to be home on a device. At that time, they turned seven and I'm like, “I don't want them in the iPad all day. I sent them to Montessori to not be on the iPad.” Finally, we're like, “What does it take to pull them out?” In Arizona, you fill out the form, then you can go home and work on the farm. It's so simple. I'm like, “Brett, I think we could do this.”

To his credit, that man was so onboard. He's like, “Yes, totally.” This has been the last domino for women business owners because education was the last thing we tolerated. The bus comes, you put them on, you go, “Thank God,” and then you get on with your day. You know what they're learning but you may not know, “It's school. It worked. We went to public school and I was fine so they'll go to public school and they're fine.”

Now that we got a taste of the homeschooling, don't get me wrong. There are still days that I'm like, “I'm going to put you guys on a bus. I don't even know where that bus goes but I know it comes at 7:30,” tick me off. Overall, it's been incredible experience that we opted into for 2021 because you realize what you're capable of, and this has unlocked freedom for our family. Now, we can travel when we feel like it. Hopefully, by 2022, we'll be able to go back to Australia, which we were going to every year. That's where Brett is from. There's been unlocking and very uncomfortable moves that we've had to make, but then we settled in. We're like, “We’re made for this.” This is who we are in the first place. That's what I see transforming on people on many levels.

One of the things in your human design is motivation. We all have motivation or human design. Your motivation is hope. I was thinking about that as you were sharing through this whole interview how hopeful I always feel when I speak with you. The way you motivate others is to give them hope about the future and things to look forward to. You very much orient from this observational place of seeing what is and what could be. This hope energy is your genius. Not a hope without a plan but hope with a plan.

The thing for you while we're talking about hope to be aware of is that you want to watch out that you don't slip into guilt because guilt is your not-self. Guilt is when you feel like you should be doing something or you should be showing up a certain way around social media. The ‘shoulds’ for you. Whereas some people are able to motivate with guilt. It's in their design. They're the people who are more of the taskmasters, “If you eat that, you're going to get fat.” That's a guilt motivation.

AYD 19 | Future of Business
Future of Business: The wonderful thing about this is that we were being forced to unlock living our lives the way we've always wanted to.

Whereas hope motivation is, “You may want to make some changes with your body. Let's talk about what results you're looking for and create a plan.” Both help motivate people depending on who's delivering the message, and you're the person that delivers hope with a plan. It's a beautiful thing. Before we wrap up, shall we look at your human design chart?

Sure.

As I say to all of our readers, I always ask the guest, what should we talk about with your human design chart before the show? We're going to look at your purpose as it relates to how you are designed to go in and out of hiding or retreat. I meet a lot of people that have this, and they feel very much like you do. They feel that pressure and even guilt sometimes to be consistent, be out there all the time and always forward-facing. Some people have that in their design. Some of the mega-famous people out there, they're in their design. They're visible all the time, like Jennifer Lopez. Some people never go away. It's in their design.

We're looking at your design. Where we find purpose in human design is in the location of your sun. This is at the moment you're born, and your Earth. The design sun and Earth, which is 88 days before you’re born. Every human alive has this going on. Eighty-eight days prior to your birth, this is when the soul comes in. The soul crystal is right here. It’s basically our neo-cortex. Our soul lives in our neo-cortex. What the soul crystal does, and it’s an actual crystal, is it informs the building of the body.

What's interesting is when we die, that crystal goes back out into the field. This idea of past lives and reincarnation, it has some basis in how consciousness travels through time. I don't think it's as literal as it's been made out to be in terms of actual bodies if people remember. You have a soul, and so your soul came in. When we look at the sun and the Earth, they make up 70% of us. You have a very interesting incarnation cross, and I want to talk about it because you're a very visible person and there are things in your chart that lay that out.

Let's talk about your personality sun because that's the first thing people see when they encounter you. I'm going to tell you the keynote for 33 line 4 is dignity. “A lack of turmoil in retreat, the underlying faith in resurrection that turns retreat in an opportunity for renewal and the healthy retreat for regeneration.” What happens for you is when you hit what the coach Dan Sullivan calls The Ceiling of Complexity, your natural inclination is healthy. It's to retreat and say, “Like you do with your clients, what am I keeping? What am I getting rid of? What excites me? What's creative? What's going to cause me to want to step out of retreat?”

Your personality Earth, which is where we are growing as souls. The personality sun is what people see. You’re a Leo. You shine without Leo energy and people see this tremendous dignity you have If you just carried it and you've always had it. Even the way you speak, you can get away with saying some pretty heretical things because you deliver it in this very dignified, classy and thoughtful manner. You're not haphazard in the way that you go about things with this design. It's calculated and it needs to be.

All of our learning is our personality Earth. It's the part of us that needs to get grounded so we can be most effective with other people. Yours is down here off the route, and you have the whole channel, so it becomes even more significant when you have incarnation gate connected. Let’s look up 19 and 4 because this is what you’re learning. It’s the team player, “Individual approach, which attracts and accepts cooperation. The power and energy for outward activity and the ability to accept others as long as they can keep up. A driving force that can benefit the whole group, the energy to seek out and exalt in the company of others.

It's an interesting paradox, the dignity to go into retreat, and then when you come out, have the right team and people to exalt with. When we move over to the design side, and this is true for all of us, our design sun is what keeps us healthy, radiant and alive. For you, it’s location. What keeps you healthy is a mental process because 24 is off the neo-cortex, and 24 line 6 is called the Gift Horse, the possibility of being deaf when opportunity knocks. There's a reason for that, “The conscious participation in a process that prepares one for easy identification of opportunity. Identification and focus with the rational thought process.”

What this means is that what keeps you healthy is choosing the right opportunities and being careful not to be too suspicious because you'll be suspicious to keep your privacy, but lots of opportunities will come to you. There's another piece to this about what keeps you healthy. You're here to systematize what you do and you're a role model who then teaches people the system. You did that with your online blueprint. You were able to systematize.

There's role modeling and also a sharing of your system that is so impactful. Finally, your core genius, gate 44. This is all about being a role model to a team. There's so much leadership in your chart and there’s no surprise there. Forty-four is called coming to meet, and it is alertness. It's basically that the success of any interaction with others is based on coming into those interactions without an agenda like when you do an interview with someone or you meet a new client.

It's the capacity to go, “Let's see what's here before we try and change it, judge it or fix it. Let's see what's here.” You're going to love this because I think I mentioned this word to you. Aloofness, it's in your design. “A perfected renewal in which the establishment of new form protects you against being rejected. The awareness of patterns, which ensures one's instinctive wellbeing.”

You have this ability to be aloof from the team and the larger community when you need to be. It's fascinating that you have a retreat on one side, which is about going into isolation to regenerate. You have this aloofness, even when you're participating where you have a lot of gatekeepers. The reason for that is you have to have the gatekeepers to protect your energy.

The shadow side of it would be being intolerant of lesser mortals or being intolerant of people not as competent as you. Never feeling special, different or above it all, but that's the shadow. What's interesting is you've probably noticed in yourself as you've gotten older and it's integrated more. You're like, “I'm choosing to be distant to protect my energy,” versus, “Those people aren't up to snuff.”

It shifts as we evolve into a more holistic view. That's absolutely correct for you and that is your genius. The thing people are coming to you for is you show them the patterns that they need to put in place to ensure their wellbeing as an individual. To make this practical, it might be saying to someone, “Client Jane Doe, you need to get some help with your childcare.” It’s something as simple as that like, “Do you have permission?” Your design is one that has hiding built-in.

Once I learned that, it gave me so much less guilt because the guilt was built into. It all came together and it's good to hear again and again because I forget. You get swept up into, “What are the plans? How are we growing? Also hiring a team.” There's a time now for example that I'm working probably more than I'd like, but we're in a big push. How do you recommend I negate those times, do what I can and then maybe plan a big rest after?

The thing for you is the way you're built, you have a ton of energy for what you love. You're going to work in spurts. It's similar to someone that works in the movie business. They're in it when they're in production. When they're not in active filming production, they're either editing and maybe many times prepping for their next project. They don't have to get all the editing and planning done in one day, and they're able to take more naps.

I would build in retreat time after any big launch push because your nature is if you're into it, you're going to bring everything you've got. You're going to say, “I've done my part. Now, you need to leave me alone for however long so I can regenerate my energy for the next time. If you want me like this, I need a lot of time alone to rebuild the fuel stores.”

The way you're designed is your fuel burns out fast in a spurt. You're like a sprinter versus a long-distance runner. The sprinter sprint. They win gold medals and do these amazing things. They're like, “I’ve got to go retreat.” Versus someone who's a marathoner and they train seven days a week, rain or shine, so they can run their six marathons a year. I know some people like that. They do 50-mile races. I'm like, “Good for you. I'm not doing that.”

We all are designed to do the thing we're designed to do. For you, I would say that if you can recognize, “I have to power through this and I have this big break to look forward to.” Planning backward always from your retreats would be my advice to you, which wouldn't be my advice necessarily to someone else. To me, that's the beauty of the human design. It's so customized and tailored to your genetics and how your body functions. When you get that right, everything else is easy. Thank you for your time. Before we wrap up, I know you have an amazing event coming up, which I bought a ticket to. Could you share more about the event and then share about The Trust?

I'm going to start with The Trust, then I will go back to ICONIC. The ICONIC is coming up quicker. The Trust is the network for women entrepreneurs doing over $1 million. The reason I created it was that once I got over that mark, and I didn't want to be part of a coaching program anymore or go to some of these masterminds and stuff. I was like, “Where can I meet other amazing women, create and support ideas and all this stuff?” I tapped into a few organizations they felt really outdated or I'd tap into some other places that were still a big brodown or circles you couldn't get in.

Things I've been privy to like winning women and these groups of women that are incredible and doing $50 million or $500 million. I'm like, “How do I connect these worlds for these women who need to see something but brodown and in a different way?” That's why I created The Trust. It's JoinTheTrust.org. We have some incredible events coming up in March 2022. We're going to be in Miami Beach with the founder of It's a 10 Haircare. If you know that little blue bottle, it's everywhere. It's in every store. It's in every Ulta. She's built a $500 million company from one product. I love her story because she had a line of products that bombed.

She said, “I'm going to create one amazing hair product.” It took off. We bring these women in to spend the morning with us. Visit JoinTheTrust.org, and we'll be happy to talk with you if you're a fit. If you're not at $1 million, have a look at ICONIC. At ICONIC, we attract a lot of women over $1 million but we don't require you to be. It's a wonderful room to be in. If you like some of the conversations, it's two days of exciting conversation and closed doors. This isn't like a filming event, dog and pony show. It's amazing women in a room.

I'll tell you, the average revenues in the room are still about $2 million. That's how amazing the audience is in the room. We'll give you a great taste of these discussions that we have. One of the exercises that I've done since the first year we did this in 2017 is redesigning. What metrics have been your false gods? Let's redesign everything around that. I also have done some fun exercises like the internet blowing up and how do you market, which I was a little ahead of my time.

The internet is getting weird. You can't market anymore. The algorithm chase. It's like a lot of exercises to get you out of your day-to-day and re-orient you and go like, “What is this about? What's my iconic work in the world?” Go to IconicWithAliBrown.com. We have more seats available. We're over half sold out. We'd love to consider you, and please apply. The number 3rd or 4th here in Phoenix.

Thank you, Ali Brown.

Come to ICONIC and see us. We'll both be there.

Thank you for this incredible conversation. This is such a pleasure. To those of you reading, if you want us to do a marathon, let us know. Thanks, everyone, for reading. Thank you, Ali Brown. It’s such a pleasure.

Discover Your Soul Language With Generator Jennifer Urezzio

This is the show where we meet with people who I feel are aligned to their design and you get to decide. We share what the individual is up to, what they are creating, what they are putting out in the world, what they have learned. Our guests share incredible stories. Towards the end of the show, we have a look at an aspect of our guest’s Human Design. I asked the guests before the interview what they want to look at or what they want to explore, which is wonderful because it helps focus my energy. We don't have a five-hour show because we could spend a lot of time talking about what's in someone's design.

I want to introduce our wonderful guest. Her name is Jennifer Urezzio. She is the Founder of Soul Language, a paradigm that puts tangibility to the soul so a conscious connection can be established to enable crystal clear decisions for success. Jennifer is also a master intuitive and the author of two bestselling books. She has trained over 30 practitioners worldwide in soul language. At this point, there are over 5,000 individuals, including me, all over the world connecting to their soul languages. I had a soul language experience with Jennifer. I'm going to have her share a bit about that. With that, let's bring to the show, Jennifer Urezzio. Welcome. I'm happy you are with us.

Thank you so much. I'm excited to be here.

I'm happy you are here. It's such a treat.

It's so fun that you are where I am now. I love that. You are on the East Coast.

It is so much fun. We got to meet in person. We met for breakfast.

We have known each other for many years.

I met you when I was starting my career, which meant I was maybe 29, 30 years old. I have known you for a few decades.

You came to my house. You drove to my house to do my hand analysis.

I remember coming to your house. You had cool things around your house, cool plants, potions and beautiful gemstones. From the moment I met you I thought, “This is an unusual person. This is one cool chick. We are going to know each other for a long time.” I like to say that we have a soul family. We are in the same fractal. Since I have moved East, my fractal is around me. You are part of my fractal as far as I'm concerned.

When we have words to describe what we know deep down inside, there's a profound acceptance.

I'm glad about that because that is fun and it is cool. We saw each other probably half a dozen times over many years. I have seen you more in 2020 than I have, which is great. I love it.

We always stayed in touch over that time, phone calls and checking in. You always knew if I was having a hard time because you are spooky like that, “Beth, I was thinking about you so strongly. Why?” I’m glad you called me.” What is soul language? Will you explain to everyone what that is?

What it does is it gives amazing human words to your essential nature. It puts words into three different categories of your soul, your mission here, how you feel about that mission or how you will be known here and then your soulful personality. When we have words to describe what we know deep down inside, there is this profound acceptance. We then can create this conscious connection to move from struggle, pain and programming to consciousness. How do you manifest more and create a better life? You put consciousness into everything you do.

What I do is help people understand their languages and then move from unconscious or pain to consciousness. For people like you and me who have been on the path for a while, our unconsciousness is subtle, sneaky. When you have the framework, the interface to have that connection with your soul in a deeper way, it allows you for much more clarity. It allows you to stop suffering, deal with pain and choose to put goodness into everything you do, which reflects back to you with more goodness.

Why do you think it is important to have a deep connection with your soul?

Most of us are hearing our soul anyway but we are hearing it through layers. Here is a perfect example. Our soul is always saying, “More.” What most human beings hear through the layers is, “Not enough.” When you have this deeper connection, are making a conscious connection, having an ongoing conversation and not text messaging yourself and it autocorrects. You have this ability to create based on truth, wisdom, knowing that your love is supported and provided for. That creates a lot of freedom. It creates an ability to choose completeness rather than the ability to operate on programming. A lot of us spend a lot of time doing things and expressing things that we know deep down inside that's off but we don't know why we are doing it. When you have that deep connection with your soul, that allows you to feel at home no matter where you go.

How could people use soul language along with their human design info?

It creates this huge 360 degrees blueprint of who you are. We will use me and this goes to my question at the end. I know when I'm frustrated, that is in my human design. That is a signal that I have to tune in and have a conversation with my soul. I then would tune in and go, “What's the belief behind my frustration? What do I want? What do I need that I don't feel I'm getting? What can my soul provide me here that will allow me to move from frustration to something as powerful as neutrality?”

In that consciousness, all these doors start to open. It becomes this beautiful dance of understanding and having tangible tools that you can utilize in your life every day. If you are not going to use it in your life, what is the point of having all that knowledge? It is to make a difference in your choice selection and to create based on what you want to be and experience here versus what your past or what your history or what your programming has given you the option up into this point.

It is real liberation. How can people start listening to their souls?

AYD 10 | Soul Language
Soul Language: When you're frustrated, that's a signal that you have to tune in and have a conversation with your soul.

The easiest thing is to tune in, connect to your heart if you don't know your soul languages and simply ask, “What do I need to know now?” Your soul is talking to you all the time. Here is how they talk in case no one told you. It talks through intuition but most of us don't spend any time asking ourselves questions so that can be unveiled in a bigger way. When you ask that question, you are going to get some answers. Some people are going to get answers and they are not going to have any idea what that means. They shut them down, go back and start to connect the dots. A lot of people don't talk to their souls because they don't understand their database of how their soul is talking to them. My soul talks in Star Trek references. I know what that means.

What does it mean? I want to know what it means?

I will get a whole new Star Trek reference especially for clients and I’m like, “Now I have to translate it again for the client.” I know what all that stuff means to me. Most people want their soul to speak to them in a way that they have seen on TV, that I do it or that you do it. They have to understand their flavor of that. That is why soul language is cool because it gives you the framework to have that deep conversation. You are going to get answers. Another reason why people don't ask questions is that the soul doesn't talk to you in marketing speak. It doesn't talk to you in, “Do this. Do that.” It talks to you in bigger pictures and visions. When you get a big answer, you go, “My humanness can’t get there.” What is the first step to getting there? People are afraid to have this.

What do I need to know now? I know I will get an answer. That is the first thing I felt. I was like, “I'm getting an answer to that.” How did you discover soul languages? What was the unfolding for Jennifer that led to the creation of this beautiful body of work?

This a groovy story because you are involved in that story. I got my hand analysis, which you said that you are a powerful healing teacher of service in the spotlight. I was like, “I resonate with that. That's groovy. What the heck do I do with that?” I started asking big questions. We did some coaching. You called me up, you are like, “I'm doing this event. I’d love for you to come to speak about essential oils and life purposes. Don't worry, there are going to be lots of speakers.” I get there and there is just me as an additional speaker. There are no other speakers. I get off the stage and people are lining up to talk to me there.

I remember that line. I was happy for you.

They were like, “Do you know this?” I was like, “I know all of that. I don't know how I know but I know.” I was asking big questions at that time like, “Where are my people? I'm angry. I connect to this person and that person. What is that?” I'm on the massage table because you gave free spa treatments with everything.

Our guest speakers got spa treatments. That was a nice event.

The swag bag alone was crazy. I'm on the massage table. I keep asking those big questions. She's piling mud on me. I'm like, “That woman across the way was nice. The woman next to me and I are going to be friends. Why is that, God?” That's what I call my higher power. Not the woman across the way. What I heard was soul language. I was like, “Get me a pen.” The woman was like, “What?” I said, “Get me a pen.” I kept asking questions. When you ask big questions, that's what happens, you get big answers. After four months of asking questions, day by day and writing down the answers. I had this paradigm. I started identifying people.

I identify this woman who knew nothing about the 107 languages, nothing about the three different categories. I said, “I Identify what your soul language is and it's called partner. How does that resonate with you?” She said, “Before I got on the phone, Jennifer asked my soul language. What would I say? She goes, “I wrote down the word partner.” I have warrior energy. When I cry, it's pretty bad. I burst out and hysterically crying. She was like “Are you okay?” I was like, “Tell me I'm not crazy.” That is the way it first started. I then have been asking questions every day. It grows. The language definitions keep getting more and more in-depth. As new practitioners come on, they ask different questions. We are having different conversations about the evolution of each of those energies. That is ten years of my life in four minutes.

Tune in and connect to your heart. Your soul is talking to you all the time.

What a beautiful story.

It's real. Every time I say it, I always footnote you. You were a stone on my path. It's amazing how the universe works. It allows us to understand that you are being supported and provided for it every moment in time. Staying connected is key to receiving what you want and feeling fulfilled. That takes practice. It takes consistency.

Before we look at your chart, what have you got going on you would like to share with our readers?

One of the things I love to teach is helping people move from unconscious warrior energy to conscious warrior energy. There are 21 patterns of unconscious warrior energy. I will give you a couple. One is you make war with everything. You have to make war with everything to receive. Another one is you have this fierce loyalty, I call it never leave a man down. That you are sacrificing your own needs, wants and desires because you feel responsible for others. I love to teach warriors to move from unconscious to conscious utilizing that energy because they are so powerful that they become an unstoppable freight train when they do it. We have another one coming up shortly on the website. I would love everyone to take the survey to see if you are an unconscious warrior. It’s groovy stuff.

Let’s look at your chart. You are an emotional authority generator. You have a defined solar plexus, which about 50% of humanity has. I also have a defined solar plexus that plays from about mid sternum to just below the belly button, which is what houses our emotions. The emotions run in waves. The wave frequency has started from 59/6. That is the mother lode of all emotional waves. You have the 59/6, which is a creative channel. It is the mating channel. It's sexual energy. With people that have this channel, it's an endless desire to create. I have the channel, too. We are always creating things. It doesn't occur to us like, “Do I have the right to create?” It’s a force of nature.

Do people feel like they don't have the right to create?

There are people that will put off their creativity for a lifetime even. It's dreadful but they do.

I can’t imagine.

Until they meet us.

We unlock them.

AYD 10 | Soul Language
Soul Language: Staying connected is key to receiving what you want and feeling fulfilled.

We hope to set them free from that misguided thinking. You are an emotional authority type and you have a defined sacral, which 70% of us have. It’s the sex chakra. We are either a generator, 37% or manifesting generator, 33%. You are a pure generator. The pure generator does not have a channel from one of the motors to the throat. Whereas the manifesting generator has the sacral defined and a channel to the throat. As pure generators, we are the worker bees. You, me and all the other 37% of us. We are the builders. We will tend to do the same thing over and over for years to achieve mastery. The two biggest desires of the generator are to be masterful in their work and to have a good love life, to have a good, romantic partnership.

I can check those boxes off.

Isn’t it wonderful? It’s satisfying, which is the signature of the generator and the manifesting generator to be satisfied. Everything comes down to that question of satisfaction and then I will bring in your question. This is to set up your question. Satisfaction comes from feeling deep in the sacral. You know when you bite into a delicious dessert or you have had an amazing orgasm? Somebody sends you a beautiful letter. That's satisfying. It isn't about how much money, how many orgasms, donuts or whatever the thing. Are you satisfied? That's the question. Is this person, place or thing, satisfying to Jennifer or not?

In this case, I'm going to use the term generator going forward, including manifesting generators. When any type of generator moves out of satisfaction, they move into what's called the not-self, which is frustration. Seventy percent of humanity is subjected to these waves of frustration. Your question that you established before we started the interview. I ask each guest what is your question about your design. You asked such a brilliant question. How do I use my frustration to build skills rather than staying frustrated? It’s is an amazing question.

First of all, it's understanding that the frustration has nuances. There is the frustration that comes about when you have made an incorrect decision and you are losing energy for something because you realize, “I don't want to do this but now I'm locked into doing it out of integrity. I don't have the energy for it.” That's high frustration. There is the frustration that will come when we plateau in a relationship, project or working out. Plateaus will happen. If you are trying a new food plan, they always work great. Now, I don't feel anything. The plateauing situation usually means we need to be asked a new question. What keeps generators moving along are questions from the outside. They need to be asked.

One thing I found helpful when I find myself plateauing is I will find a projector because they are the question geniuses. I will call my mother up, for example. She is a projector and I will tell her the situation where I plateau. I'll say, “Mom, ask me questions.” She lays out these gems of questions. I then can tune into, “I could do this.” I have something to respond to. Generators need something to respond to from the outside. We are not good at initiating from the mind. That can often move us out of a plateau. That is one skill to develop, recognizing the difference between the frustration that results from a poor decision.

You are locked in and you got to finish it. You are going to be tired because you don't have the natural energy for it versus the frustration that is a natural nudge to get more to respond to. You have done all you can do on your own. You need something new to respond to. Worst case scenario, you can record questions in your own voice and play it back, which works well or do a video recording. I remember there was a wonderful scene in that show with Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda. Do you remember that TV show, Jennifer? I forget what it's called. What's the name of the show? Do you remember?

It’s Grace and Frankie.

Grace does these videos to herself. One of my friends took it a step further. She said, “Do a video to yourself from your soul.”

Frankie does.

AYD 10 | Soul Language
Soul Language: When you ask big questions, you get big answers.

Do a video to yourself from your complaining frustration voice. Start with the complainer first and then have the soul answer. You can also do that. It's a good exercise. Those are some ways to move out of frustration. Here's the other thing, if you start asking on the regular, “Am I satisfied?” That is going to make a lot of decisions quickly. Like, “I don't want to work with this person. It's not satisfying.” Doesn't matter how much they want to pay you?

That is a great question.

Isn't it great? Keep asking, “Are you satisfied?” The am I satisfied question clears out the clutter. Notice if your frustration levels spike, you probably need something new to respond to. The worst frustration is the kind that comes when you realize, “Crap. I said yes to something that I should not have. Now I'm locked into finishing it. I better make the most of it.” It’s better to finish it than to quit. If you have to quit, try to find an alternative. Otherwise, you pay karma as a generator for broken engagements. That is why generators know that it's potent. That's my little update about your chart. Will you share with everyone again what you have going on and we will share the link with everyone? Can you do that?

Creating a Sacred Practice That Works

Why do we need a sacred practice? When we feel separate from our higher power, that separation shows up in our lives as lack, pain, and suffering. Participating in a daily sacred practice that fits who you are will allow you to create in a more powerful way, feel more at peace, and know that you are safe no matter what challenges may appear in your experience. As a spiritual renegade, your sacred practice needs to be flexible, fun and innovative like you.
