Jessica McIntosh, Manifesting Generator 1/3: Accentuate The Real You

On this show, I bring on people who I feel are fully embodied in their purpose. They're living their purpose out in the world, getting paid to do the work they love doing and are in their genius zone. They are also people that I find uplifting. They provide a lot of hope, insight, inspiration, education and illumination into how you can be more fully in your life. When I say embodied, I mean in your physical body. You feel your butt on the chair, your feet on the ground and the tips of your fingers. You're connected to you. When you're connected to yourself, that's when you can bring your greatest gifts to the world. I'm so happy to have you.

Our audience keeps growing. Our focus is on what stops women in particular from being visible in promoting their business. What is it that gets in the way? What can we do about this dilemma or fear of being visible, to put our best foot forward? I want to share about our host. I'm going to share with you a little bit about her. Her name is Jessica McIntosh and she is a Nashville, Tennessee-based branding and portrait photographer who has been doing this work for over a decade. She is the mom of two boys. She's married to a lovely man named Brett and they have been together for years.

She has worked with companies like Gaylord Hotels, Marriott Hotels, Twice Daily, Graystar, Franklin Road Academy, Lifeway Christian Resources, The American Heart Association, White Bison and others. Jessica's experience ranges from executives and business owners looking for personal branding and lifestyle shoots to families who ask her to capture engagements, weddings, maternity, senior pictures and all of life's special experiences in between. As Jessica likes to say, telling your story and helping to see yourself as important is a very powerful thing. She helps you do that with a camera in her hand. Let us welcome to the show the wonderfully talented and generous spirit, Jessica McIntosh.

Baeth, thank you so much. That's a wonderful intro.

You're welcome. It's so wonderful to be with you. You have done two photoshoots for me. I'm a big fan of budget allowing at least one shoot a year but preferably two because we change every six months. You can see it in our appearance and energy. Keeping the visual aligned with where we are in our growth track is important. Before we get into what stops women from being visible and what they can do about it, will you share with everyone how you ended up choosing photography? What led to that? I believe you were a model for a time. You were in front of the camera, and now you're behind the camera, making us look amazing. You do a great job. How did that happen?

I grew up in a home where my mom was committed to videoing and photographing everything. Pictures were early. She had a giant camcorder on her shoulder. Early on, I saw the value of a photograph. When I became a teenager, I started modeling. I would be in front of the camera and ask a photographer, "How are you making me look like that?" I was fortunate to be surrounded by people who would tell me. They started to show me what lighting did, what cameras they were using, how they edited things and all of this. It was such a fun time.

I fell in love with the fashion, the dresses and the beauty side of photography. When I was about fifteen, my dad passed away suddenly from a heart attack. Those photos that my mom had spent so much of my childhood capturing suddenly became the only means that I had to look back at my past. That history and value took on a whole new meaning for me. I had this value of history and where you came from mixed with the love of beauty and fashion.

AYD 27 | Accentuate The Real You
Accentuate The Real You: Women give so much of their time to other people and not themselves. They need to give themselves permission to spend time on themselves so that they can figure out who they are.

Somehow that intermingled into what my photography journey has looked like, which is both making sure things are beautiful, fun and vibrant but honoring people, specifically women, where they come from, who they are and who they want to be remembered as. It's important and valuable to me. Here I am, many years later. I went to a photography school and did all that. I worked under different photographers in the industry, got to understand the technical side of things that we need to know and have grown in this space over the years.

What do you think are 2 or 3 of the major reasons that women in business struggle with getting in front of the camera?

There's a list for sure. I can come up with about a million different things. Number one is time. As women, oftentimes, we give so much of our time to other people, whether it's our families if you have a family, relationships or work but not to ourselves. It's giving themselves permission to spend time on them, figuring out what they want and who they are and not propelling everything forward all the time. I would say time. We are constantly telling ourselves this story, "At some point, I will be worth putting myself out there and in front of the camera. I finally have lost enough weight, looked a certain way, and gotten to a certain point in my career. Things will slow down."

There's a list of things that we can create in our head to say, “Not yet. Not like I am now. Nobody wants to see this.” It's this story that we will oftentimes tell ourselves. The permission that we have to give ourselves to invest in ourselves and the permission and courage to accept ourselves as we are and to say that we are worthy of being seen and visible as we are, not a future version of ourselves but who we are now, whatever that is are worth being seen.

Anytime we get together, talk about women and get in a room, few women ever tell me, "I love having my picture made." Nobody says that. Everybody is like, "I hate getting my picture made." My goal is to help women leave a photoshoot and say, "That was fun. I feel good and seen. I know that I'm worth being visible to my community, not just for the sake of doing it but for the greater good." What you have to bring to the table, people need to see. We have to remind each other of that constantly.

How did you conquer those insecurities in yourself? What was the process Jessica took herself through? You're a mom, wife and daughter. You have all these roles. Women have all these roles. You're a confident and integrated person. What did you do for you to foster this confidence you have to be also a business owner?

Thank you for saying that and affirming that in me. It's a process. I have not arrived. It's a struggle when I say to myself and my kids, "We're going to have family pictures taken of us. I'm going to put my face on our Christmas card." That has nothing to do with my business. That's a personal hurdle. We look at photos of ourselves and immediately before we can say something good, we have to say something bad or deprecating or acknowledge that this isn't quite perfect enough before we can say, "That’s nice. That's fine." It's a constant practice for me.

Accept yourself as you are and say that you are worthy of being seen.

The 30-year-old version of me versus the teenager of me that was a model is different. It's learning to accept and appreciate myself and the people I love around me. My kids don't look at me and say, “Mom, your arms are too big to be in a picture. Your face is too wrinkly to be in a picture. You have too many zits on your face to be in our picture.” My children might have commented on my acne. That's usually a harmless and an observation more than anything. They hug me and love me.

I want to remember what life was like with them and for me. Life does not always fit in this box. If we only remember the pretty and perfect Photoshopped versions of ourselves, we are leaving out such a big chunk of our lives and who we are. I constantly say that I preach to the choir and myself is that real life is beautiful. I have to believe that if I'm going to empower other women and give them the gifts, their real-life and who they are is beautiful. I'm constantly saying that to myself. It's hard. There are good days and bad days.

What would you suggest to women and even men in this instance who know that they need to be visible and yet feel hesitant for whatever reason? What would you suggest that these individuals could do to bolster their confidence pre-photoshoot? I'm always nervous before a photo shoot. I'm an extroverted and relatively confident person, but even I get sweaty palms and sweaty brows and get a little anxious about how it is going to turn out. If someone is shy and they're more on the introverted scale in terms of their personality, what are some things people can do to bolster their confidence?

A photoshoot is so vulnerable. We are letting another person see us at every moment, blink and turn, “Is this okay? Is that okay?” It would make complete sense that we're nervous. Even the most extroverted beautiful and confident person like you is still going to feel a little insecure at that moment. If you are on the edge, anxious, shy, and trying to talk yourself up to doing this, number one, you're worth it where you are and you have to do nothing else to get yourself ready for this. You are ready because you are great, just like you are. Sit down and think about what it is that you want to show. I would to stop looking and scrolling Instagram because that comparison is a thief of joy.

You are going to talk yourself out of it, "I don't look like this person. I don't know how to pose like that. I can't." Number one, quit scrolling and write down what you want, what makes you spark, what it is that makes people attracted to you, what is your gift and what are you giving the word and think about how you are want to show that. For one person, a great headshot and a couple of banners or lifestyle images could be all that they need. There are other people that may need rotating content. You might have to think ahead and plan for the year about what you need to show to grab people's attention in this visible world.

You need to think about who you are, what you have to offer the world and how you want to show that, "What do I need? What do I want to show?" Even if you don't hire a professional photographer right away, start practicing by showing your real life. We're great at the selfie. We have all mastered a good selfie, I'm sure. Take a selfie or start revealing little parts of yourself as you start to get comfortable with it. I do highly recommend working with a professional and talking to them before talking with the photographer to make sure that your personality is chill.

If you're shy and reserved, this person is in your face and all over the place, you might retreat into your shell and not feel like you at all. Maybe you're the opposite. Maybe that person could help pull something out of you. Interview some photographers. Just because you talked to someone doesn't mean you have to hire them. Anytime I talk to a client, I'm there to listen about what their needs are and tell them how I could meet those needs. It's up to them to decide, “I feel like she could help me get the results that I'm looking for.”

AYD 27 | Accentuate The Real You
Accentuate The Real You: Photoshoots can make you feel so vulnerable. So if you're shy, remember that you're worth it wherever you are. And, really think about what you want to show. What makes you spark or attractive?

Interview people and don't feel like you have to look at a website and make your decision from there. You might be able to but if personality and helping you with posing, feeling comfortable in front of the camera or even deciding what you want. Maybe you need someone that's going to be a little bit more hands-on than showing up the day of. That's all research that you can start to do before. That's going to help put you at ease and take the hot seat off of you. You get to interview your photographer a little bit to find out if they're going to be a good match for you. That's going to be a vulnerable time, so you want to make sure they will match your energy or help pull out the energy you need.

That's a good point in the sense of feeling emotionally safe and having an emotional connection with the photographer because that's going to elicit powerful expressions. Your body is going to be more at ease if you feel comfortable with the photographer. That is terrific advice.

My favorite one is simply a confidence booster for me. This may not be true for everyone. Get yourself into a position where you're going to feel good and confident. You want to think about your wardrobe. If you need to talk to a consultant about that, do it. You're investing in your business, livelihood and yourself. Don't feel like, "I'll all throw something together last minute." Think about it ahead of time. Talk to a consultant and photographer about what your wardrobe is going to look like so that you're not showing up the day of like, "I don't know." You want to try it on and make sure it feels good on your body and that you feel good and confident in it.

My other favorite thing is hair and makeup. Not making yourself look like you is never what I want people to do. Typically, I like to work with artists that help accentuate what is there and talk to the client about what they want to show and look like. Maybe they want to look so natural. That time in the hair and makeup chair is relaxing. You're investing in yourself and feeling good. It doesn't mean you have to get a crazy eye shadow and lips that aren't like you at all. It's a nice time to relax and reflect. It brings you into your session with this new confidence that I love to see when I photograph people. I see them turn on and I love that.

What are some things an individual could do to prepare for a business branding shoot? You have some great suggestions around that and things to be thinking of in advance of the shoot.

They need to get together their branding colors. If you already have a website or you're working on building one, you need to think about what your brand looks like. That's going to reflect the location for your photoshoot that you will talk to your photographer about and what poses you need to work on. That's also something you've got to decide. Do you need a headshot or a branding session? Those are two different things. A headshot can be a part of a branding session. If you get a headshot, that's just here to here. That's all we're focusing on. You want to make that decision.

What do you need? What photos do you need? Do you need stuff of you in an office or at home? Do you need images of you interacting with clients in whatever your industry is? You've got to think through what that is. Is this a photoshoot to help get you out there and get you visible and feel beautiful? That's okay to say too. You don't have to disguise it as anything else. You need to decide what it is and then communicate that. Think about your branding colors, business, and what type of images you need, whether it's for your website, social media, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or whatever you need.

If you only remember the perfect Photoshopped version of yourself, you're leaving a big chunk of who you are. Real-life is beautiful.

You have to think about those things so that the photographer can know. If I'm shooting a banner image, I have to give you a lot of space. If I'm shooting a headshot or something for Instagram, then it's going to be a square. Thinking through what type of images you need is huge. How they will be used is helpful to your photographer. Think through your wardrobe, hair and makeup. These are all little things that your photographer can help you with, like a recommendation. I have packages for my clients where I do all of that for them.

These are the people I work with. They're so great at it. They treat my clients the way that I want them to be treated. I had this great team of people that I could bring in. You've got to think through what do you want for your business and then articulate it. The first time I worked with you, you already had your colors and pictures you sent me. It was so wonderful. That does not necessarily happen every time, but it is so great when it does because it is so helpful. It gives me inspiration to then help create what this world is going to look like for your photos.

One other thing that is a good tip is to remember to get a lot of horizontal shots with open space on the right or left side for your website, Facebook banners and other rectangle-shaped positioning screens. If you're only getting those vertical shots, you don't necessarily have images where you can put an opt-in box, copy, quote or that kind of thing. Before we take a quick look at your Human Design, you are a manifesting generator. Manifesting generators are considered the express builders of the world. You have a gift for knowing which steps to skip.

As a result, it's important you move slowly and methodically and don't rush. It's because you're so efficient you could miss an important step. It's the slowest fast with a manifesting generator because you already move faster than all the other types. You also have the greatest capacity to get things done because of this built-in efficiency. Manifesting generators are good at juggling family, work commitments and multiple businesses. It's what you are built for. The other types are not designed to carry as much, although many try because of societal conditioning.

The manifesting generators are the ones which are designed biologically to take on a lifestyle of juggling various priorities. I would encourage you not to worry about streamlining your life too much because you're always going to have different things in the air. It's the nature of your design. With that, is there one area that you would like to explore? I always ask our guests to share with me one thing that has been rumbling around in there that you are willing to explore at a public show that we could then quickly look at your chart and see what's happening.

I feel like somebody who feels like you can juggle multiple things and keep them going. One of the things that we have talked about is when I slow down and even look ahead so much at 2022, I can feel so overwhelmed or into myself with, "How am I moving forward? What am I doing next?" If I don't have a specific thing that I'm moving towards or a client or if I have something on the horizon, but maybe it's a little farther off, I can start to feel lost in myself in finding that motivation to move forward. I would love to explore that. What do I do when I'm not generating?

It's something to respond to or something that might be motivating. To your question, there are many different ways we could look at what's going to help you stay motivated when you are in a funk, or maybe you've completed a project and you don't know what's next or whatever the reason. One of the things I look at when it comes to work is going over the chart's design side. Mars is the circle with the arrow. When we look at Mars on the design side of the chart, the position of Mars there is about your physical energy. Mars is about that masculine yang part of us that moves things forward.

AYD 27 | Accentuate The Real You
Accentuate The Real You: When you slow down, you can feel overwhelmed so how do you move forward? When you feel like you want to stop moving, that is the best time to actually stop moving and move inward.

For you, you have it in gate 52, which is a gate of stillness. It's called the mountain. If you think about mountain pose in yoga, it's about being still even when it's not so easy to stay still. This would indicate that when you are feeling that things aren't moving, that is the best time for you to stop moving and go inward, meditate, get still or do something like yoga, Pilates, or even a walking meditation. Let's say you go to a nice trail, walk, sit still for a bit, contemplate, walk a little bit more and you sit still.

You have the 9-52 channel, which is an incredible channel to have in any chart. Anyone who has this 9-52 has something special. Let's talk about this because the 9-52 channel in you is all in red. It means this capacity is a little bit unconscious to you, although I bet life has shown you. You have an incredible ability to sit still and handle details. Let's say you finished a photo shoot. You have the ability to then sit down, go through all those photos, organize the photos, pick out the best photos and make suggestions on the photos the person might want to use, all of the things and the details.

The 9 energy focuses in on the details and the 52 keeps your butt in the chair. The thing is, it's a Line 3 energy. It's 52, Line 3 and the lines are right after the decimal point. The first number to the right of the decimal point is never higher than six because there are only six lines in a hexagram. The number to the right of the decimal point will always be in Human Design a number between 1 and 6. Each one of these lines has a different frequency. When we're talking about Line 3, it's about strategy. One of the things that help you move forward is to sit still with yourself and ask, "What is my strategy?"

That would be a good thing for you to think about for 2022, "What is my strategy for 2022?" Look at your calendar and build in the stillness. When are your meditation time, contemplation time, planning time and vacations? Putting more stillness allows you to go further faster. It's counterintuitive. The 9 is part of your core genius. Design Earth is a core genius. Your core genius is the strategy for details. You also have the left eye. Gate 11 represents the left eye. The left eye is the eye that sees new ideas and stories and builds new pathways through imagery.

Photography is perfect, but you already know that. You have a strategy capacity with this 9-52 channel. We've got the 52 in multiple locations, so we know it's important in your design. This 52 energy is a very important fuel. It's the fuel for stick-to-it-iveness and staying all the way through the process of a project. This is an excellent energy to have if you are a filmmaker because making a film is often a 2 to 10-year process depending on the film.

The process you take clients through with their photoshoots is not a one and done in an afternoon. It's a whole process. There's the pre-production, production and post-production. That is where you excel. If I were to encourage you to take your business to the next level as a business consultant, which is pretty much what I am using various tools, I would suggest to you for 2022 to build out a three-part process for your clients.

It's the pre-production, the production itself and post-production. Have the process on your website and have paperwork online that people can fill out for the process. The more detail and yet keeping it simple is the trick. The more detail you can extract from these three phases of the process, the more satisfied you and the client are going to be. This is the essence for you of what moves you forward is your capacity to be more thorough with your strategy.

Once you can do your very best work, client satisfaction will go through the roof.

That's so crazy because oftentimes, with clients, I feel robbed and I feel like I can't even serve them the way I want to when we skip these steps. If I can't do the whole process, I feel like, “If only I had been able to do X, Y and Z. Maybe time or their schedule only allowed for this. Maybe I don't have this process completely laid out for them.” We thought, “We can skip over this.” We can't. I can't. I feel like it does a disservice to them, the process and what they get at the end.

This is a good new boundary for you. This is something you can bring to the forefront with your future work with clients. Perhaps you don't work with people, for example, who are not willing to sign an agreement that they will fully engage with the pre-production, production and post-production processes so that you can do your best work. When you can do your best work, the chance of the client being highly satisfied goes through the roof.

It's all for them. I feel like I can't deliver the best. It will be good. In some cases, all you need is good, but I have this deep desire for it to be the best. It's so interesting even what you were saying those things, me not being aware of them, it's something that I've talked about doing for years. Sometimes you don't have time. I get it, “They need to do this quickly and meet a deadline. We will try to speed this up.” Whenever I do that, I always have this little thing inside of me that's like, “It could have been better.”

As an aside to that, one of the aspects of Human Design is motivation. You and I share the same motivation, which is called desire. There are only six motivations. They are fear, hope, desire, need, guilt and innocence. For anyone with guilt motivation, guilt motivation is finding out where we and other people are guilty of fixing things. It's about fixing things. It isn't about giving people guilt trips. You're going to feel guilty if you don't fix things, at any rate. Desire is about moving things forward. The transference or not-self behavior is going into innocence.

Where are you put off? Putting this in place now is your innocence. Every time Jessica is like, “I'll get to that,” you're going into innocence. When things arise in your life, in the field around Jessica, and even this conversation we're having, that's the universe saying to you, “Direct your desire to these next steps.” What moves you forward is taking space to be thorough and not worrying about how long it's taking to put it in place. It's trusting the methodical step-by-step nature of what it is you're creating. The thing is, if you take 2022 to clean up all your processes, think about where your career can go in the subsequent years.

It's how I can serve the people around me.

You're already very successful. You work as a photographer and have wonderful clients. Imagine what becomes possible when you grant yourself the same space you give your subject.

AYD 27 | Accentuate The Real You
Accentuate The Real You: The idea of taking up space is scary. As a woman, you want to make yourself smaller and then deal with your own personal issues. But by taking up space, you're allowing yourself to serve others better.

What a great word. Thank you for that.

You're welcome. What's the word you're going to take?

Something that's so interesting is what you said about me taking up space. When I take up that space, I'm allowed to take up space. I serve the people around me better when I do it. We have talked about personal life, trauma and that sort of thing. The idea of taking up space is scary. Even as women, we want to shrink back, make ourselves smaller and deal with your personal issues on top of that. Being told that by taking up space and doing the thing that feels almost terrifying to step into, I'm serving better.

The irony is when we live our design rather than our not-self, which is what most humans are doing until they become conscious of it. When we live in our not-self, it will usually go 1 of 2 ways. People either become overly solicitous of others or enablers, as you said about so many women and time. We're coming full circle with our conversation. Women don't make time for themselves. The irony is that when you look at what is in your design and the circuits that are you and make you a priority, your capacity to be there for another person or a group of people and serve humanity with your greatest gifts is unlimited, massive and so fulfilling.

The irony is the more we keep putting ourselves and our whole life on hold, then no one is served. I find it quite a paradox that the more you become a champion of self-love and self-compassion, the more you can serve others. I'm excited about this time. We need to wrap up here. I want to tell everyone to go to JessicaMcIntosh.net and you can see her incredible work. Suffice to say, her website is beautiful and you might recognize the person on the home page. Jessica, are there any final words for our wonderful audience?

Keep going. Be visible. If you're afraid, step into it. Listen to Baeth because I got goosebumps in my little time here and my unmotivated self feels like I need to go run and write all my processes out.

This was wonderful.

Baeth, thank you. I look forward to hopefully getting to talk to more of your tribe and people and helping them overcome that fear of being visible. If they have questions, I live in Tennessee and I do travel. If you can't get here and travel, I'm still happy to help you work through some of those questions to find the photographer that's a right fit for you, wherever you are. Feel free to reach out.

Thank you, everyone. This has been another episode of the show. We will see you all soon.

Welcome to the show, Ms. Patty Alfonso.

What a lovely introduction.

You have a background in Sociology, body-mind counseling, energy healing therapy, pole-dancing, tantra, and so much more. I want to know, were you always this alive and in your body?

AYD 25 | Goddess Energy
Goddess Energy: You can only do so much of that and inviting that masculine essence into your life can invite you to a deeper level.

No.

Where were you before tantra and pole dancing?

You and I met at a tantra class.

I remember the guy you were dating. I remember it clearly.

Where was I? Somewhere out there? Somewhere far away outside of my body. I’m not really present at all in my body and not present with the energy that's available when you have a body. I was stiff, rigid, numb, no sensation during sex, totally disconnected, unhappy, and depressed. I had no direction in life. I had a sense that there was something that I was supposed to be creating, but I was so disconnected from myself and my body that it wasn't arising from within me because I was just somewhere out there managing this body from far away.

You were the puppet master of yourself. What was the turning point? Was it a particular decision you made on a particular day or did it slowly unfold through a series of choices and new behaviors?

The answer to that is both. In 2007 or 2009, I was in energy healing school. My life had gotten to this point where I was miserable, stuck in every day of going to work, coming home, making dinner, watching TV, going to sleep, and doing that over and over. I was bored, so I ended up in energy healing school. I had this deep desire. I knew I wanted to help people and make the world a better place. I came in with that. That had always been my directional go-there energy. When I was in energy healing school, I knew that something was missing, but I didn't know what.

I was like, “There is an energy I'm not letting myself have and be. I don't know what it is, but something.” For our certification, we had to find a movement to add to our daily self-care and self-practice. I'm sure that they thought I was going to find yoga, Qigong, or Zumba, but no because this is just how my life is. I ended up in a pole dancing class. It was just an introduction. I remember saying, “I want to reconnect to my goddess energy.”

The feminine is rooted in love, beauty, surrender, and opening. Those are all divinely innate feminine qualities.

I took the class. I loved it. When my teacher did the demo, I was like, “I'm not letting myself be that energy.” It was at that moment that I realized how much I had cut myself off from the body's innate orgasmic, alive, juicy, delicious energy. That energy had been made of so wrong in my life that I was like, “Nothing going on down here. Don't look down here.” That moment is when the journey began.

It's not ever just like one thing. It can be, but that one thing is the beginning to the next. That led me on this journey of pole dancing, tantra, connected to my body, and allowing myself to be everything. This myself in this body have come here to be joyful, beautiful, sensual, feminine and sometimes masculine, present, soft, surrendered and sometimes in your face. It's been a journey of discovering all of the energies that are available to us and allowing myself and my body to be them in whatever is required at any moment. It's still exploring. It's not ever over.

I have noticed something on this subject that has blown my mind. I am recovering from breast cancer, which best I can determine spiritually and psychologically came from way over-giving, over mothering, over nourishing and doing too much. I come from not receiving. They're not getting equal and return. I learned it from my family. The more I study my family on both sides, it goes back in many generations, this over-giving.

It turns out that I am a poor processor of estrogen. I'm estrogen dominant and I went, “That would be an over-giver problem.” I noticed when I was kissing my boyfriend’s forehead, I was aware I was giving him love. It occurred to me because of all the training you and I ever doing. I tuned in and went, “That's masculine. I see it now. I'm giving love. I'm conscious. I want to kiss him, touch him and let him know how much he means to me. What if I just had a mantra in my head that was, ‘I receive?’”

I'm sharing this for all the women readers because the moment my mind starts running that mantra, I lean back and relax every time his body moves towards me. Every time he grabs, kisses, takes me into his arms. He's a big guy and I love it. I'm a very strong-willed person, as you know. I feel so small and cared for. I feel petite, like a little fairy. I wanted to share that because you and I have been on this journey together in and out of each other's lives, learning about this masculine and feminine energy. I keep learning myself how to back off and receive, how the change in the other person is instantaneous when I'm not pushing my energy out, but rather, at times, letting energy come towards me.

The feminine is rooted in love, beauty, surrender, and opening. Those are all divinely innately feminine qualities. I love how you've made that distinction. We're in that energy. We're in the beaming love to everyone and everything. We take that, go into the masculine, direct it and take it into action. This is a total energy dynamic playing with energy and what can happen when you shift your own energy and how it can affect the people around you. Surrendering into love, the feminine, and letting go, that is the invitation because when you're being that energy, surrendering totally, and opening into that energy, there is no doing. It is all about being. That invites the masculine to step in and come.

I was having a talk with my lover about how did we get all so insane in this area and looking at women who are controlling, dominating, how did they become that, and how did the men around them become so passive? It's a mind-blowing topic that we could probably go on and on forever and ever. It’s the practice for us, especially because we are so on purpose, which is very masculine, and to be on purpose, have direction, keep things moving forward, and always be in that directional mode. I remember as a woman, when I was really wanting to invite the masculine in and to have a partner because I had been single for a very long time, I was like, “Can I let go of control? Can I be led?”

I love it. My partner also does that. He's so manly when he grabs and squeezes me tight. I’m not fighting against that and surrendering, even the way he holds my hand engulfing me. You mentioned polarity, Finding those moments where we can be both in the energy. When his energy, his delicious masculine and I'm open, surrendering and letting go allowing myself to be led by this masculine presence. That's where I get to soften. When he grabs my hand, he does it so purposefully, with such intention and presence or when he holds me so tightly that I have to choose to let go, surrender, soften, opening and receiving that energy.

AYD 25 | Goddess Energy
Goddess Energy: Allow consciousness and the universe to support you.

It's been a practice for me because I haven't always had healthy, masculine energy in my life. Sometimes in that energy, I have to soften, not resist it, get present with it, and know that I am safe, cared for, and everything is okay because the body responds. It's like, “Here's this masculine energy,” and being present, willing, and able to discern the delicious, healthy, masculine energy versus the past toxic, masculine energy that I've been aware of. It's a dance and I'm enjoying moving in that dance.

Don't you think as we become more receptive, less controlling, more open to people giving to us, particularly our partners, that we do attract different kinds of energy?

A hundred percent. It's also allowing consciousness and the universe to support you as well receiving and encompasses all of that. When we let go of the control of what we think in our minds, we have to do, then whether it's the universe or your partner, whatever it can contribute to you in a whole different way that is beyond your mind, crazy, limitations, past and everything that you were thinking before. It's interesting because of this concept of receiving. I feel like we're diving into it as a collective in such a different way. It isn't something that we have been taught in this reality. It's an energy that's opening for people to discover and play with like, “What is receiving for me and for my body? What is that?”

You and I are both in relationships with younger men. It's a two-part question. 1) How did you and your guy meet? 2) What is attractive to you about dating someone younger than you?

We met at a plant medicine retreat and we both had an ask in our universe for partnership. We've both been on this individual solo journey of rediscovering ourselves, stepping into more of our greatness, and all of that. We both came to this point where we were like, “I'm ready to explore this in partnership.” The medicine I was asking like, “What's next?” I was on sabbatical for my business and I’m looking at like, “What's the next evolution? What's the next version of what I'm ready to be in the world?” He was asking similar questions and we feel grandmother was like, “What's next? Here.”

It was such a clear experience of the divine feminine, which I was embodying and the divine masculine, which he was embodying. I remember at that moment, I’m lying there. I also was asking like, “What's it like to live undefended? What would that look like to be undefended? No defenses, no limitations, no past stories, no nothing.” I was laying there feeling totally surrendered into the feminine, open and feeling like, “This energy that I will be and that my body has that I think a lot of us have, this is the healing. This could be healing for the world.” Simultaneously. I'm embodying all of this feminine energy and he is being this masculine presence that is holding me. It was just one of the most magical experiences that I've had.

We knew at that moment like, “There's something here. There is an offering that our bodies together can give the world that is greater than anything we've been doing on our own.” It was so clear. It's been a process of surrendering into that wisdom, grandmother or the universe and letting go of logic. He's quite a bit younger than I am and all that crazy story that comes up. I'm like, “This is the message that we both received so clearly from the universe.” When you ask for something and the universe puts it in front of you, who are you to say no? Why would you do that?

Over time, what I have noticed that I love deeply about his essence is around the innocence of life, living, and love. There's not a lot of baggage, not a ton of failed relationships to bring into the relationship, and this beautiful sweet innocence. I love that energy in the bedroom. I think you said this in the introduction. I also have a lot of innocence, curiosity, wonder, and joy. Having that energy in the bedroom is spectacular. It's amazing. I love that out of all the other things that keep showing up. What's it like for you?

I concur with a lot of what you're saying. There's a moment sometimes when I look in his eyes and I've said this to him, “The mask comes off.” He says, “What do you mean?” I said, “There's a mask that we all wear when we go out in the world. It's, ‘don't come too close, keep your distance, let me check you out kind of protection.’” There are moments where it comes off your face and the look in your eyes is pure innocence, pure wonder, people who leave and dilate a bit. I'll see him, the curiosity, openness and willingness. That encourages me to open even more it's.

What happens with the feminine over time when she doesn't really cultivate her femininity is we harden, close off, defend, and protect.

In many ways, I feel it is a reclaiming from myself of lost innocence. The places I started to shut down at 11, 12, 13, and 14. That was the age I started shutting down my sexual desire and vulnerability. I'd been bullied in school. I learned how to defend myself very well. I learned that if I was in control and I made myself relatively indispensable to people, they always needed me for something, and it lowered the rate of rejection. There was a huge cost to that because like you, I couldn't feel my body. I would have intercourse and I couldn't feel anything. I just felt the pressure. I could tell there was a body bumping into my body, but that was about it.

I kept thinking, “Why is there all this hoopla about sex?” I knew deep down there was something there. Being a very physical touchy, feely person, I knew there was another world waiting for me. It was going to require me thawing out and opening up. I didn't know how to do that, but it started with ecstatic dance in my twenties, then moving into tantra in my 30s and 40s, and then doing plant spirit medicine, traveling around the world, and working with different shamans. Bit by bit, my I've continued to open. I did not die from the illnesses I contracted from being stressed out and shut down. I feel like I’m living a whole new life. I’m reborn, in a way.

That’s where we set it. This was our tantra journey together was many lifetimes ago. That is what happens with the feminine over time when she doesn’t cultivate her femininity. We harden, close off, defend and protect. It's interesting when you were talking about this innocence as well. It painted my universe like, “That's part of what I think maybe the masculine is missing in the healthy masculine, their innocence, and curiosity.”

When we look at that spectrum of living costs, toxic masculinity and then healthy, vibrant, giving the energy is definitely something that I think could be added to explore that curiosity is so important. I wonder what all of this will create. I know that, for me, it has been a gift of softening, surrendering, allowing, and letting go. As the feminine, we can only do so much of that for ourselves and inviting that masculine essence into your life can invite you to a deeper level.

The sex itself for me has been so profound as well, because not only do I love this man. I like him. I respect him. I have loved people and I love their soul, but their personality made me want to put a fist through the wall. I was like, “If you had a better personality, we'd have a great relationship.” Now I'm with someone who has a fabulous personality and a wonderful rye way of looking at the world. The physical interaction is all the colors and flavors. Sometimes we'll go into that dark animalistic, push-pull in me energy, and then other times, there's just playful and goofy. Sometimes it's very sensual, very loving, and we're both crying because our hearts are so open.

I stepped on the scale. I've lost 16 pounds since I started dating this guy. I have an hourglass figure I've never had in my life. I know it's from the energy of love. It's from that testosterone getting into my body. I have this whole theory about fluids in this world of, “Safe sex.” I'm not against safe sex. For everyone out there reading, get tested and talk to your new partners, but there's a place where it just goes off the rails. What happens for women and for men who aren't in a regular committed dynamic is they're not getting that regular physical interaction. Our bodies are designed to have sex a lot. Every day is ideal for most people.

I asked my friends who are struggling in the relationship. I'm like, “How when are you having sex?” They'll go, “We're not.” I'm like, “That's your problem.” “We don't feel like it.” I said, “It isn't about whether you feel like it or not. You do it to connect with the person. You do it to have a conversation with them. It may or may not lead to the best orgasm of your life, but that physical closeness regulates your cortisol, lowers your blood pressure, opens up your mind, reminds you of why you love this person, and you don't even have to orgasm. It's just get together.” I've done that practice and I've talked with him about it. I said, “I need you tonight. It's not even about sex tonight. It's about connecting.” He's like, “I get it.”

We're making an effort. We get so busy. It's easy to be like, “I'm too tired. I don't feel like it.” We start shutting it down again because I think the intimacy keeps increasing the more you let another person into your heart, and it's very scary. The more you let someone in, the more it's going to be a big old heartache when they leave or die because everybody leaves eventually one way or the other. Even if you die together, the end is coming at some point.

AYD 25 | Goddess Energy
Goddess Energy: That merging of energy, that creation in that moment, comes from the deep intimacy and connection that is already established.

We're all attuned to the end. What I'm practicing is staying in the moment, being grateful for what is, bringing my full self to what is, and receiving that, not worrying about the future. Not that we don't talk about the future, but not being obsessed with the future, “What does this mean?” It’s because we're older and we've had a fair number of relationships, one of the things that's attractive about us is we're not trying to lock a guy down. We don't need like, “I need you to marry me by this date.” It's not about that. It's like, “Do I like your soul, body, and all of it?”

Speaking of the intimacy and connection when it comes to being with another body sex copulation, I noticed when we were having sex, there was energy emanating from within my body and his body. Those energies came together, commingled, and created whole other energy that engulfed us. It was so innocent, delicious, soft, and healing. After we were done, tuning into my own body after that delicious healing, let's look at sexual healing when you're with your partner. What is possible with that energy? I could feel every molecule in my body in a completely different way. There was a softness and a relaxation that was present that I was I slept so well that night. I'm not sure if that energy can be created in a one-night stand.

I don't think so.

That merging of energy and creation in that moment comes from the deep intimacy and connection that is already established. That's in searching for a long time. That's what grandmother showed us in that ceremony. If you step into your masculine and feminine, this is a healing that can change the world.

I have chills of goodness running down my arms.

It was funny because I was working when I texted him and I was like, “Mr. Pellegrino, I'm checking in to see your availability for a dick appointment later on.” He responded, “I've got a prior engagement at 6:00, but I would love to be available around 7:00.” It ensued this texting flirting, but it was funny, cute, and joyful.

I began that text exchange and I was fully turned on and alive, wet, juicy, and all of a sudden, my day changed. Let's look at orgasmic living. What is it that unites that energy within yourself and body in every single moment? What is that energy? We can all get stuck in super hyper-focused in the doing of this reality. That gets you out of your body, head, and thinking mind. How do you activate your body's innate, delicious, yummy orgasmic energy? How does that energy create an affect your daily life? You spent the whole day totally giddy, turned on, excited, and happy. It was fun. What can we all create? If we were all being that energy in everyone in the world, what the heck would the world be like?

It's pretty magical. I have one question for you and then let's look at your design as we go into our home stretch here. If someone came to you to work with you, how would you work with them? How do you typically work with your clients?

Everybody's body is different. There is no one formula for finding out what orgasmic living is. It's about discovering what that is for you.

It depends on what the client needs. I do one-on-one work, VIP work, in-person or online. I group work and all kinds of different ways. Most people come to me because they want to find out what is orgasmic living to me. They want to have that energy in their life. They're feeling disconnected, depressed, tired, and exhausted, especially after or in the energy that we're all living in. They want to explore what orgasmic living is to them.

There's a lot of different ways that we can do that. It's a matter of us looking at what does your body need? What's going to work for you and for your body so that we can ignite this energy in your life so that you can continue to cultivate that energy daily? This is like any other practice like yoga practice and you do your yoga every morning. Living orgasmically is a practice, “How do I activate this energy right now?” That's a very personal journey of finding out what that is for you. Everybody's body is different. There is no one formula for this. It's about discovering what that is for you.

Let's take a quick look at your human design chart. For some people, this is brand new, and for other people, this is not so brand new. What we're essentially looking at is a circuit board. I like to ask each guest, as I asked you before the show, what you want to look at and you said, “Somebody mentioned something about money channel in my chart.” I want to talk with you about the money channels in the chart.

The actual money channel you don't have is the 45-21. It is actually called the Money Channel. Donald Trump has this channel, just as an aside. I always think about the reports of his gold toilets. I'm like, “That would fit with the money channel.” However, there are a couple of other channels. There's the 2-14, which is also about creating prosperity. I'm more about philanthropy and you don't have that channel, but there are two others that you do have out of the four biggies.

There's the money channel, and then there's the 2-14 channel. Wherever we have channels, we've got skills. You have the 44-26, which connects your spleen to your heart. Gate 44 is off the spleen and Gate 26 is off the heart. I call it the entrepreneur channel. It has other names, but for all intents and purposes, this is about someone Gate 26 that knows how to do deals and Gate 44 knows by shaking hands which hands to keep shaking and let go of. It's also very much linked to the sense of smell and you can sniff out the right people. You may find that your sense of smell is very heightened, and you can read people quickly just by their scent. You've heard the expression, “This doesn't smell right. I smell a rat. This smells so good, the aroma.” You're very attuned to that.

I do. I make this face where I'm like, “Something is off here.”

This channel helps you move through in a sense what's transitory. It gives you a lot of flexibility. The heart floats out a bit disjointed in a way from the rest of the body graph. It doesn't have tons of four connection points to the rest of the body graph. The 26-44 is the only connection over to the right side of your body. You had this wonderful flexibility. It also tends to show up for people who are good at graphic design, marketing, art, color, and form. There's a real finesse around creating beauty and money. Hence, the entrepreneurial channels. When you have the entrepreneurial channel, you need to have your own business.

I met a woman and we looked at her chart. She had the money channel and almost all four of the money channels. She is working as a psychologist and I said, “You need to have an empire. What are you doing?” That's the thing with conditioning. We can be totally off from what we're here to do. I'm really glad you're being entrepreneurial. The other channel is this 32-54. The 32 energy is trying to pick and choose what to keep for the future. In other words, what traditions should continue and should die? What gets carried forward for the legacy? 54 in the Ching is the gate of the marrying maiden and it's about social climbing.

AYD 25 | Goddess Energy
Goddess Energy: That merging of energy, that creation in that moment, comes from the deep intimacy and connection that is already established.

It's about social ambition, social achievement, and it's in our DNA. The thing to remember with any of the information in this chart is it's binary. You're going to experience the range, the good, bad and ugly. As you evolve, this 32-54 would not be uncommon for you to be involved in a family business or receive money from a family business to build a business with a family or with a partner. It has that energy of family tribal, business, that mom-and-pop shop that has been around for 150 years. It's that energy. It is the ambition and the fuel for ambition to create wealth. In order to create wealth, to leave a legacy, whereas the entrepreneur channel wants to do deals, be creative.

The 32-54 want to make money to leave a legacy. You have two major drivers in your design to create wealth, but for different reasons. One is because the entrepreneur channel goes with because it's fun and creative. It's an instinct for you and the defined heart gives you the willpower. You can keep your promises, be very disciplined, and stick with practices for a very long time. You can hang in there on a difficult business deal if you know it's the right thing. You're like, “There are glitches here, but I know it's the right thing, so I'm just going to ride it out and see it through.” You're not easily deterred with this design. You have a tremendous amount of staying power. The biggest challenges for you are to all the openness.

I know you'll amplify other people's emotions because you're pretty steady emotionally. If you find yourself getting emotional, it's probably somebody else's emotions that you're amplifying. You don't always know what to say with an undefined throat, but as long as you're communicating enthusiasm, you'll be fine you are. You're a very enthusiastic communicator. Your asana or neocortex is totally open, “What should I be thinking about? Does it matter?” Your head is undefined. You're going to be getting inspiration all the time. I think you've learned to manage that to not get carried away with inspiration, just to notice it, “I'm inspired. It doesn't mean anything. Let's wait a moment here.”

You'll end up thinking about a lot of stuff that isn't relevant to you or you may not always know what's the priority. It's important for you to tune into your thoughts and ask yourself, “Is what I'm thinking about aligned to my purpose? Is it aligned to my design? Is what I'm thinking about even relevant to what interests me of late?” If it's not, you can just wave it away. We need to stop here. How was that for you?

It's amazing and totally just right on. That was wonderful. Before I became an entrepreneur, I would have jobs and I would always end up running their company, which is why I was like, “Why am I running other people's company? Let me do my own.” This inspiration now to create with my partner. I've always had that desire to have a partner that we could create together and create something magnificent and magical that would last beyond our time. All of that was totally right on.

Thank you for your time. It was a joy to have you.

It’s always a joy to connect with you.

Everyone, thanks for tuning in. We have more chock-a-block episodes coming with juicy provocative content for you.

AYD 18 | I-Ching Method
I-Ching Method: I-Ching taps into the concept of unlearning, non-action, and undoing, then shifting back your perspective and opening up to a higher nature.

It's so good to be here. Thank you for having me. I'm excited about this.

We are so excited, too.

First and foremost, let's go ahead and dive into how the I Ching or the intro of how we are. As Baeth introduced me, I am a spiritual ascension coach so I work with all sorts of different modalities and I Ching was my first one. It holds a special place in my heart. This was my first way of giving energy readings. I found it when I was sixteen years old. It inspired the tattoo that I have, which I will be talking about. I did get it at sixteen. I was like, “This changed my life. I've got to go and document this.” Here I am now, still sharing and loving this concept. That is a little bit about me, who I am and what I do. You guys know Baeth well. She's a human design expert for many years. Do I have that right?

Twenty-three years with scientific hand analysis and about seven years with human design.

Humans all wander in the unknown. Those who travel beside the sage are protected from harm.

Let's dive right in on what we are going to learn. This is a little bit of an itinerary. We are going to go over some basic vocabulary that you will find used with the language and a little bit of the language barrier situation with this ancient Chinese concept. It's going to have an intro as well with the human design gates as the I Ching hexagrams and the gates are the same thing. We are going to have two different perspectives on that, which is going to be amazing. We will go into a little bit of the history of the I Ching, and then the full tutorial on how you guys are going to get an energy reading that you do for yourselves with a step-by-step walkthrough, and then it will be how the I Ching impacts the human design system.

What you will need is the three coins and then a favorite journal that you have, as well as something to write with. You will be drawing a hexagram and an open mind. The I Ching always asks that we meet it halfway. Having that present moment to tap into the gorgeous magic that's available to us here. This is where we are going, to begin with, human design. I will ask Baeth to intervene a little bit on this topic. We have a blank human design chart with little itty-bitty numbers, which are the gates. This is the first way that people can identify where the gates are, and then the other way is this way of the mandala. This is where we can see that the outer layer of the circle has the hexagrams listed on them.

What I wanted to zoom in here on these images from Jovian is we have the I Ching, and then we have these little notches in here. If we zoom in closely, we see that these are the lines of the I Ching hexagrams. We have the specific hexagram and then broken down to each individual line. You guys will connect a lot of dots when we go through this tutorial as to why that is. Baeth, do you have anything to add about the way of the mandala?

Within the I Ching, there are 64 hexagrams. The 64 hexagrams are each linked to their own unique gate. There are 64 gates and there are 64 codons of DNA. The people who downloaded created and were inspired by the I Ching understood the 64 different frequencies. If you are looking at your human design chart, what is colored in is you or the gates, hexagrams and DNA that pertains to you. Why I wanted to have this session with you, Mindy, and to share with our community is to deepen the understanding of the most ancient part of human design, which is indeed the I Ching. The I Ching is the precursor to the discovery of our DNA that amazingly has 64 primary codons. Within the human genetic code, there are 20,000 different genetic configurations within the human body but they are based upon these 64 codons. The areas that are colored in are the gates, codons or I Ching hexagrams that are linked to you as an individual.

It was interesting as well with the codons. It always so happens when we're diving into things like this, whether it be the spiritual or the scientific side of things, how many dots connect without us having to worry about it. We have these a-ha moments where it's coincidentally but of course, there are no coincidences. That's beautiful. Let's go ahead. You can see how it goes from that head to the eleven, and then even deeper so that's zooming in there. We are going to move into the I Ching. We have this symbol in the corner, which is what I took to the tattoo artists who have here on me. That is the word Tao and it means everything and nothing. It means everything is put together in perfect harmony.

In my estimation, the I Ching and the Tao Te Ching go hand in hand. You can't have one without the other. The I Ching is the oldest book, and then the Tao Te Ching being grandfathered in with that entire concept being its foundation. From that, we also see how Osho, Hinduism, and Buddhism stemmed from that. You can start to see the progression but it did all begin with I Ching. Let's have this little quote here. “We are all wanderers in the Unknown. Those who travel beside the Sage are protected from harm.” This is something that is taken from the I Ching. It perfectly expresses the intention of the I Ching. We are going to get into a little bit more of that when we get into more vocabulary stuff.

This is a little bit of a disclaimer. The I Ching has been translated many times. The first-ever book that was created was in the ninth century so somewhere between 750 and 1000 BC. It's known as the original beginning process of calligraphy itself so the first language in terms of that Chinese culture. The content that I am sharing is from my personal experience and a translated version of this original text just so everybody is aware of that. Let's go into a little bit of this history. We see the little DNA movement going through here. This person that we see here is Fu Xi who is known to be the first emperor of China from the Zhou Dynasty.

The original beginning stages of creating calligraphy and we see him with the I Ching lines here. He said that the information came to him from a flying dragon-horse. It's cool how this could have been a real human and it's more than likely so but it goes so far back in time that he's mystical in Chinese mythology. He's a cultural mythical character if that makes sense. We have some new age translations and I'm going to give you all some examples. These are the texts that I personally have and recommend to you all. We do have a deck of cards here if you are interested in that. This would be the Tao Oracle. I have those cards here with me. They do have those keywords so you will see the hexagram and then two different elements, and then some text that gives you that little bit of a baseline understanding of what each hexagram would mean as a summary.

I mentioned that the Tao Te Ching goes hand in hand with the I Ching so I recommend having them as a partner to one another. We will go deeper as a way for you all to be able to win some of these recommended reading materials as we go along here. Let's go into a little bit of the progression of the I Ching. I always like to say that this is not for the faint of heart. It's stoic. It's like the grumpy old grandpa who only points and grunts at stuff and gives you 1 or 2 little keywords, and then says, “Go figure it out on your own.”

It's harsh at times. The tone is very straightforward and it will kick you on your butt. It usually will begin with that harsh beginning stage like shaking the snow glow, and then it reminds you to be in the present moment. It softens as it goes and it brings you to that present moment where you can be sitting on your butt and being like, “I get it now. I'm willing to see this differently. Give me this perspective shift.” We go into some of the languages that you will be able to see here so prepare to hear things like relinquishing, withdraw, quiet, remain and maintain. These verbiage choices in my personal estimation are to remember the value of being innately at one with all that is.

AYD 18 | I-Ching Method
I-Ching Method: The 5D life is tapping into a freedom-based lifestyle, bringing the purpose of living into your work or business.

Going back to that present moment, and then expanding your consciousness to being at one with the universe as a whole. It sits you on your butt and then says, “We are going to have this expansive experience.” The best reward that you can hear in the I Ching, the positivity at its peak, would be attaining the aid of the Sage. When you have achieved the present moment, when you are there for the perspective shift, the best possible thing that you can hear from I Ching system is, “You have the support of unified consciousness. You have the ability now to know and that optimal ability there is having that inner knowledge. The goal always is to have that equanimity.

Some of the positive things that you might hear are devotion, enduring, persevering and things like that. Be prepared to hear some of these words. Some of the more negative ones are colorful when it comes down to it. Things like rushing on ice and gluttony. You will see humiliation is to follow, self-indulgence leads to misfortune and things like that. It's colorful in how it likes to speak to us. A couple more words here, at the top, we have the Sage. The Sage is also verbiage for a higher power. If there was a deity in this cultural system, it would be known as the deity.

Taoism is not considered a religion because there is no God. It's all much the yin and yang coming together. The two parts, the masculine and feminine meeting and creating harmony because there is no deity, it is not a religion. That's why this is a cultural theology. You will see a lot of times higher nature, higher power, the Sage and the master. That is who we are tapping into and connecting to, which also is the definition of Tao, which we have the symbol here. They also will have he and she intermingled so it will say, “She is the master. He is the master.” It will intermingle those things.

The other thing is correct and incorrect in terms of action, principles, things that you are doing and things that you are calling in, in the present moment. You will see a lot of these proper principles, modesty and humility. You will see as well superior and inferior situations, inferior and superior human interactions. We do tap into this whole concept of unlearning, non-action and undoing. Taking your perspective to shift back into the now and then open up to that higher nature. It goes into being one with all that is. You are giving away the 3D of the world that we live in and tapping into more of that 5D that everyone is talking about.

The ability to practice non-action and gain intuitive insights is the goal of the entire I Ching system. The words that you will hear are retreat, disengage, unlearn and fall back. Coming back a step, you will see that a lot, and then you will learn, whether you are headed towards fortune or misfortune and in terms of outcomes and events that you are calling in based upon where you are in the present moment. It encourages you to breathe into the positive present moment before we run through the walkthrough so that you ensure that you get a positive response. It is possible to get a negative response from the I Ching.

I do want to add something here, Mindy, to what you shared about how the I Ching starts a little harsh because those same keynotes are used in human design. Often, I find people want to get away from them. They want to go to a happy place. Other authors in human design make things sound rosy and it misses the point. That shadow material is vital to the transformation because it's the shadow everyone is running from. If you keep running from the negative words, contraction, decrease, humiliation or whatever the word is, you miss the point of this whole experience, which is to grow and to not be in shadow. To not be in shadow, you need to not run from the shadow. I wanted to add that this system is direct and clear like my personality. That's one of the reasons I like it so much.

With a unified consciousness, you have the ability to know.

Mindy, can you elaborate on what is the 3D versus the 5D world you mentioned? We all know what our 3D world is.

The 3D is living in the world under the realm of corruption. That's what most people are going to explain this as it's paying bills, going to work from 9:00 to 5:00 and going through the harshness of the world as we know it. The 5D is tapping into a freedom-based lifestyle, launching that business or whatever it is that is living your purpose. What both Baeth and I do is tap into people's life purpose and help guide them into that more intuitively led way of being. As you are tapping into 5D, you are at one with all that is and therefore, intuitively guided and living in alignment. 3D is more living by default, is how I like to explain it, which is that things come and take me and weigh me to and from rather than me being the creator of my experience. That's the duality there as I see it.

Mindy, what's 4D? I was joking about this with my clients that young people are talking about 5D and we live in a 3D world. To go 5D is quite a feat. Is there a 4D in between the 3D and the 5D?

Yeah, there is. 3D is three-dimensional where we live in a space-time continuum.

It’s cause and effect

4D incorporates and moves through time so it's a different understanding of how time moves. That is more being direct with how you work with the element of time. You have the physical and the mental aspect of time, and then the 5D is with the unified consciousness and with that intuition leading the way. That's my interpretation of what that all means.

Teddy, did that help answer your question?

Yes, it did and it made a lot of sense because I'm a former math teacher and the 3D world is length times width times height. I knew that the 4D world adds time and it's good to know that the 5D is adding consciousness. Thank you.

That was a good explanation of 3D as well. I love that. That's amazing. I'm going to go ahead and move along here. We have another couple of key phrases, things that I have pulled from the I Ching, to give a little bit more into the language that's used. In terms of governing and leadership, as I mentioned, Fu Xi was the first emperor of China. We have this understanding of leading people and being a master. Therefore, having this leadership role, it says, “By not dominating, the master leads.” In difficult times, in times of shadow and in times that you don't know what to do and you consult the I Ching, you may get an answer like, “A dark impulse clings. Do not resist it with violence. Simply decline to express it and wait patiently.”

That would be in a moment where you don't know what to do and you are feeling and hear the clinging a lot. That's one of the gates. It's a detachment to wait for the Sage to come through and give you that direction from a place of quiet, and then the present moment, “One who stays centered is unmoved and unharmed.” You will hear unmoved quite a bit, which means not being at the disposal of other people's influence. Instead, standing tall in your belief systems and being solid of what you are here to do and who you are here to be, and allowing the opinions of others to fall off your back. In terms of manifesting, you may hear something like, “Remain steady and allow the world to shape itself.” I love that. It's relinquishing control.

Let's dive in a little deeper here. We are ready for our demonstration. Go ahead and grab your coins. I'm so excited about this. These here are the actual traditional I Ching coins and we have some quarters here as well because I assume many of you will have quarters. They need to be the same denomination, so 3 nickels, 3 dimes, 3 quarters or whatever you have. We are going to take a second here to breathe and center ourselves. The I Ching asks that we meet it halfway, which is simply to be present. Make sure you don't have any tabs open in your brain. Make sure you don't have dishes going or kids scrambling. Take a moment here to center yourself, and then also to set an intention. If you have a specific question in mind, hold that in your center.

Now we are going to let go of perfection. This is something that I did with one of my favorite journals. I had the journal for a long time and didn't write in it because I was afraid of making it look dirty. I'm here to tell you all, we are going to have some rough drafts. We are going to be scribbling and making notes. It's going to look messy, and then we will transcribe it afterward to be more of a work of art. Let go of the perfection and let this get messy. We are going to start with the notebook and from the bottom, up on the left-hand side, going from 1 through 6. Making those notes, these will be our lines. The first one is at the bottom and we have a little bit of a gap or space between 3 and 4. We will end up with two trigrams, which will then be put together to be a hexagram. Now we are going to roll the coins. You have three coins in your hand and you want to let them drop.

You will have a combination of heads and tails. Heads are worth 3 and tails are worth 2. We are going to go ahead and add up our denominations. I have one head, which is worth 3, two tails worth 2. Therefore, my grand total is seven. You can only have a 6, 7, 8 or 9 so don't overthink this. Just add up your denomination and write it on the right-hand column next to line number one. At the end here, we will have a number one, and then whatever number you rolled. We are going to go ahead and continue that up the page. You will roll the coins six times. I know the coins like to roll on the floor and get away from us. We are writing our columns here. How are we doing? Baeth, do you have yours?

I do. Your head gets three points and your tail gets two points. You are only rolling three coins so add them up. They can only be 6, 7, 8 or 9.

I have a question about how to ask the question. Are we asking for I Ching guidance for a yes-no question?

We are not asking any questions. We are just rolling coins.

The way that I like to say it is to hold the intention. If you have an intention for a career, then just be thinking about the career as you are rolling the coins. I would like to give people categories so it's either love, romance, family, future, career or money. That's the easiest way. If you have a yes-no question, you can but try to be open-ended with your question so that it's not too tunnel vision-specific because it's going to blow that proportion out of the water anyways. Open-ended but you can hold that intention absolutely.

Thank you.

Thank you, Susan.

Are we feeling ready? How do we feel?

Someone says they are confused. If you are confused, let me explain. You have three coins and each coin has a head or a tail. The head is the front of the coin where the face is and then the tail is whatever's on the back. You can decide what your heads and tails are depending on what coins you have. If it's the head of the coin, you get three points. If it's the tails, you get two. You are only using three coins. When you add up the value of heads or tails, it will add up to a 6, 7, 8. You are going to roll the coin six times, starting with number one down at the bottom of the page. You are going to put your score as you go up. That's how you do it.

AYD 18 | I-Ching Method
I-Ching Method: Do not be at the disposal of other people’s influence. Stand tall in your beliefs and be solid on what you do, allowing the opinions of others to fall off your back.

You will have these numbers here. The left column is numbering. From the first roll is number one. The second time you roll is number two and so forth. Hopefully, that made sense. The instructions will not change. What we are going to do next is identify any number that you rolled that is a 6 or a 9. If it's a 6 or a 9, circle it and we are going to come back to it later.

Someone is asking, “Why does your example have nines on it?” It's just an example. If you have three coins and you roll three heads, 3 plus 3 plus 3 equals 9. If you get 3 times 3, you are going to get a 9. You might not have gotten a nine. I didn't. I’ve only got 7s and 8s. I didn't get a 6 or a 9. It can only be 6, 7, 8 or 9 as your total if you are using the three coins. If you get 1 tail and 2 heads, that's 2 plus 3 plus 3, which is 8. If you have three tails, it's 2 plus 2 plus 2, which is 6. If you have 2 tails and 1 head, that's 7. If you have 2 heads and 1 tail, that's 8. If you have three heads or front of the coin, that's nine. It's all based on the combinations you will get when you throw the three coins. That's what you are looking for, adding up the totals.

This is some added background information that I will be diving deeper into in our course that's coming out. We will be talking and mentioning that throughout. As you tap into this spiritual knowledge, you will be called to the numbers 3, 6 and 9. Nikola Tesla told us that if we were to understand the value of 3, 6 and 9, we would understand the whole universe. Here we are studying something that's thousands of years old and they also bring significance to the numbers 3, 6 and 9. We are using three coins and if you have a 6 or a 9 on the totals that you have rolled, we are going to circle the number and I will come back to it. Don't worry if you don't have a 6 or a 9. Baeth, I love that you don't because we will have some duality there.

We are going to go ahead and move on. This is where we bring in the lines. Starting from the bottom, if the number on your right-hand column is odd, any odd number gets a solid line that connects over to the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6. If it is even, it has a line with a gap in the center. Starting from the bottom, we are going to work our way up the hexagram. If it's odd, it will always get a solid line. If it is an even number, it has a broken or an open line. We will have an upper trigram and a lower trigram. At this point, we can give some significance to what the energy of the lines is. A solid line is masculine what we call either the broken line or an open line is feminine.

If you have a hexagram with all open lines, that will be the number two, which is all feminine. If you have all solid lines, you would be all masculine. You can see by looking at your hexagram if you are all the way solid or all the way broken. It is masculine versus feminine energy. Now what we are going to do is I like to draw these little brackets because we have the upper and the lower trigram. Now we are going to consult the diagram. This is something I have provided for you here. You can also google this if you wanted to do this again. You can do everything online. This is from the Tao Oracle. We have the upper trigrams across the top of our graph and the lower trigrams are listed along the left column. What we are going to do is find your upper and lower and that will give you your number.

You are going to write that number somewhere on your paper so you can hold that number with your hexagram. Switching here is another way of looking at it and seeing it. Instead of seeing the symbols for each of the elements, we just have a word. If it's all solid, you will get the number one, which is creative or masculine. If everything is open, you would see here, Earth and Earth, bringing us to the number two, which if we look it up is feminine or receptive. Once you have your number, write it on your page somewhere.

Danny's asking, “What are the odd numbers?” Danny, the odd numbers we are looking at are when you throw your coins. You need to throw your coins six times and add up the totals from the coin toss, and then you can do this part. You draw a line or a broken line next to whatever numbers you rolled. If it's a 7 or a 9, it's a solid line. If it's a 6 or an 8, it's a broken line. You wrote in your journal 1, 2, 3 this is the lower trigram. I'm going to put a line there, and then we have 4, 5, 6. Hex means six and gram is a design, the design of six or the map of six. That's why we have six numbers for the six lines, and then you have three coins.

Sometimes, non-action is the best answer, allowing the solution to come to you while quieting your mind.

The front of the coin gives you three points. The back of your coin equals two points. It’s basic math here. You are going to roll the coins six different times. In the first roll, you are going to add up the front and back for roll number one. I’ve got an eight. Why? I had two fronts and one back, which adds up to eight. On my second roll, I’ve got two backs and one front, which is a seven and it kept going like that for me. Let's say, Danny, you rolled on your third toss and you had three fronts, that would be a nine. Let's say on your fourth roll, you had three backs so 2 plus 2 plus 2 is a 6. On your fifth roll, you had two fronts and a back, that would be an eight. On your six tosses, you had two backs and a front so 2 plus 2 is 4, plus 3 is 7.

All you are doing on each of these six rolls of the coins is adding up the totals. The coins have a value. The front has three points and the back has two points. You are always rolling the three coins, and then the question becomes, “Did you roll the front or did you roll the back?” That gives you your total. If it's a 6 or an 8, it's a broken line because of that. Even the number is broken. A 7 or 9 is a solid line because the number is odd. Eight would be broken and seven is solid. Nine is solid and six would be broken. Eight would be broken and seven would be solid.

Mindy brought up the chart and the chart shows the trigrams, which are three lines, not six. It's not a hexagram. It's a trigram. You are going to have two trigrams in your now-created hexagram. The bottom part would be broken line, solid line, solid line, and then the upper is broken line, broken line, and a solid. Let's finish this process and then we will bring the questions. You are rolling coins because this is how the I Ching was started. It's a predictive tool. People threw coins to get these answers. We are doing the most ancient. That's why we are rolling coins to play the old game. Let me annotate here. From the example I did, my first lower trigram was a broken line, solid, solid. Xun is the lower. The upper one I had was Kan. I’ve got the number eighteen. That's the number that you are looking for.

I'm so confused about this particular part. When I look at the trigram and I'm factoring in my numbers, I have the one that says Kan, Water and then I have one that's the Xun, Wind but then there are multiple numbers to the right of it. How do I know what number it is?

What is in the lower trigram? Read out the lines in 1, 2, 3. What did you get for line one? A broken line or a solid line?

Broken line, then line two was a solid and then line three was a broken line.

What did you have in the upper?

I had a broken line, a solid, and then a solid.

You had Xun. This is a lower trigram. This is upper trigram so it's number 59. That's your gate.

I’ve got it. Thank you.

It slows us down, and then everybody can catch up a little bit too so that we get to the same point at the same time. Do we have other questions? Are we ready with our numbers?

I'm confused because when I join both numbers, I can’t understand columns because on the lower, I’ve got the number twelve, which is Earth, and then on the upper, I’ve got Heaven, which is one.

You are not pulling the number from here. What's your lower trigram? Read out the lines. Is it solid or broken?

I have broken, broken, broken.

What's your upper trigram?

Solid, solid, solid.

Your number would be twelve. You did that right. How many numbers are there, everyone? There are 64 possible combinations of these lines. There aren't more. If you combine them in a graph like this, it's the same. There are eight combinations of how those coins can be thrown. You do a lower and an upper, and then you get your number. Hopefully, that makes sense to you all.

AYD 18 | I-Ching Method
I-Ching Method: Smaller details may help empower yourself to make your energy baseline in putting your radiating self out into the world.

Now we have our numbers. For me, I’ve got 55 on my entire hexagram and we have everybody with their own. Now, it would be time to open up the actual book. You guys can google this, which is a chapter essentially for you to read out of the book. This is one that I recommend because it's easy. If you want to write this down or put it in a tab quickly, it has each of the I Ching passages. They are ready for you to tap into online. I personally do have the book. I’m going to show the graph as well and then you click on the number from the graph itself. This is something you can come back to and bookmark, and then all you need is your coins and that website and you can do this again and again.

Does it have the chart?

Yes, it does.

Someone was asking, “My bottom is water and my top is fire. I don't know what that means.”

Each of the trigrams is represented by an element. If you have water on the bottom and fire on the upper, you have 64. We have our number and hopefully, we have Divination.com/iching/lookup. That will give you your passage to read. For my example, I did get 55. It will have a passage and also a passage for each individual line, lines 1 through 6. For your first hexagram, the one that we did, you read the passage but no lines. Go ahead and read it if you would like to or you can bookmark that.

I have a question for you. I didn't set an intention. Somehow, I missed that. I just threw coins. There’s no thought in my head and then I’ve got this reading. I'm like, “I don't even know what it means.” I probably should do it again with an intention.

It would just be a general message for what you need to hear now. Some people will wake up in the morning and roll coins until they know what energy to bring with them throughout the day. This would be the energy to bring forward in the present moment to then move through the next step of your situation in your life.

It gives descriptions of each of the lines, which is super cool, starting with the bottom line.

They are ignoring that because that's how it was originally intended. It's fun because it gives us limitations. I always read the lines anyway because I'm a rebel like that. I hope you guys will, too but there is one more step.

You are saying, “Do not read the passage as individual lines.”

There's a reason. Do not read the passage unless you have a 6 or a 9. This is where this comes back. Baeth will not have a 6 or a 9 so she is done. However, I have these three lines here and what I want to do is bring attention to which line is now called a changing line. Nikola Tesla has told us that 3, 6 and 9 do not make sense like our world so they are like cosmic energy. This is now called a changing line. Like it sounds, it will become its opposite. For anyone here who has a 6 or a 9, switch that line to its opposite. If it was solid, it will now be broken. I will go ahead and do that on mine. I want to bring attention to which line has changed. In my example, lines number 3, 4 and 5 were the lines that changed, I'm calling them my changing lines. I now have a new set of hexagrams. I will go ahead and give you guys the graph again here so you can have your second changed line hexagram.

A 6 or 9 and you've got your second hexagram from those numbers. This is so cool. It's funny, I used to throw the I Ching in my twenties. I had the book pages and I still have the coins. I didn't go look for them. They are somewhere in my cabinet in a little red bag, my three points. I'm remembering my twenties, I would read this but it didn't make much sense to me then. It makes more sense now as an older person. The way you are teaching it is so clear. I wish I had known this when I was younger.

I appreciate that. It has been a lot of years in the making of throwing it against the wall because it can be harsh. It's funny that way. I’ve got my other hexagram here, which will be hexagram number three for me in particular. It is these lines here that have changed. When we go back to the passage that we are going to read, we are going to read the passage for the lines that were the changed lines. For me, my example was the 3rd, 4th and 5th lines changed so those three little tiny messages are the clarifier to the first passage that I read. I want to make sure I bring up the website here so you guys can see the graph if you need to and the passage itself for the individual lines.

You've got these new three lines. How do you create a new hexagram? Can we draw that? Will you show that on a whiteboard because even I don't understand. I get that the 9, 9, 6 creates broken, broken, solid and that could be a hexagram but what do we do with the other three lines? Do you separate them?

Nope, we don't separate them necessarily.

It's not a hexagram then. It's just a trigram. I'm confused.

This was the original hexagram that I first drew because I have 6s and 9s. Those lines that have a 6 or a 9 next to them will switch to their opposite. I'm redrawing my original hexagram with those couple of key lines having changed to their opposite.

This is the first one, and then it switches to the opposite if it's a 6 or a 9. It goes from solid to broken or broken to solid and it gives you a new hexagram. Now I understand. Thank you. I hope you all understood that, too.

Darkness breeds multiple people.

This was my number 55, my original hexagram that I was able to create. It’s because I have 6s and 9s and they do not belong in the natural world, they are of cosmic intelligence, then they have the cosmic intelligence to change. In this case, my line number three, changed to broken. Line number four is now broken and line number five is now solid because that is the opposite of what they were previously. This gives me a new hexagram to now go and do the graph again. That gave me number three. At this time, I want to read the passages for those lines, which have changed. On my third roll up the coins, because it was a 6 or a 9, I now get to read passage number three because it was my third line that changed.

The changed lines would be 6s or 9s and you can read those in the specific descriptions of the lines.

We now understand why if we google the word, I Ching, we will see two hexagrams. That is because somebody rolled the coins and got their hexagram, and then proceeded with the changing lines. That gives them two hexagrams to then make into a work of art or that's going to be what lives in your journal. You can have that number next to it as well if you would like to. I found this fun and interesting. This bottom one here happened to be the exact same hexagram that I rolled as well. The I Ching wanted us to share the number 55.

If people have a 6 or 9 and they get a brand new hexagram, do they read the main description in the lines of that new hexagram? What do they lookup?

It would be the lines of that passage.

Did you start with hexagram 55 but you would read the lines of the new hexagram?

Yeah.

You then read the lines that have changed in the new hexagram. What went from 55, went to hexagram three. You would read the description for three and then read lines 3, 4 and 5. To everyone's question with the new hexagram, read the full description, and then the lines that changed. If you didn't have a 6 or a 9, just read the main description of the gate or hexagram but do not bother yourself with the individual line description.

You get to miss out. You don't get any lines, except you did do one as a random example on your whiteboard so that could be an additional one to practice with.

Allison, you are saying you are confused. If you have a 6 or a 9, the lines flipped to their opposite. You read your new hexagram, and then the lines that have changed in the new hexagram. The only people this applies to are people with 6s and 9s. If you don't have a 6 or 9 in your original roll of the dice, it doesn't matter. Nothing changes.

This is a direction for the changing line. Specifying, which line changed. If it's a six, it would have been even, to begin with, and it will now become solid. For any number nine, it goes from solid to an open line. Now you have two hexagrams side by side. In the first hexagram, you are going to read just the main passage and ignore all of the individual passages for the line. In your second or your changed hexagram, you can read the passage, and then the line passage for those lines that have been changed. It’s in-depth. It's difficult to follow but this is how the I Ching was originally intended to be used.

Now we see why there could be two hexagrams listed here and now you are ready to transcribe, if you want to, the hexagrams that are about you now. Either just one or if you have 6s and 9s, you have two, and then you can add-in. I have the lotus flower here, Chinese text or whatever it is. You can make a little work of art out of it to remind you of this first-ever introduction to the I Ching. If you were a sixteen-year-old me, you would go get the tattoo. This is the drawing here that I’ve got, my two side by side. I’ve got abundance, which is now number 55, which is, of course, needs being met, material possession. I’ve got to number three, which was a difficulty at the beginning.

It's a cool duality there. Abundance is my intention of what I'm calling in. Number three is difficulty at the beginning, which is what I'm here to overcome. The 55 happens to be one of the gates in my human design chart. Bonus for you guys, if you rolled something that is also in your human design chart, it is something to give extra attention to and start there. This is also a cool way to learn the gates because there are a lot to learn. There are a lot to understand. Sixty-four different definitions are quite a lot to keep up with. If you were to wake up in the morning, roll some coins, get the definition for what you have rolled, and sit with that energy, you are more likely to remember what that gate means because you have an emotional memory of that gate now.

Of course, seeing it from a different perspective because in human design and correct me if I'm wrong, there's a little bit of a simplified version of the hexagrams. This is an in-depth way to learn each gate deeply and anciently that brings that ancient energy in. It makes it cool. I did mention that we were going to be talking to you guys about the course that we have. I have the flower of life. This is where we get more into the numbers 3, 6, 9 and Nikola Tesla and how he was able to decode a couple of the cosmic understandings of the universe. Of course, we have Tao, which I mentioned a little bit but I want to dive deeper into that with you.

If you guys wanted to be a part of this three-part course that I am hosting under the understanding of Baeth as well, we are together but I am hosting it. Going into more of that lotus flower of Buddhism and Hinduism chakras and how it doubles back to this I Ching concept. We touched the surface about this ancient concept but I also want to continue that branch and lead into from the I Ching to Lao Tzu and Confucius to Osho, Buddha, Gandhi, Dalai Lama and all of these masters. This is a three-part course that's going to teach you more about self-mastery, meditation and tapping into your own cosmic ability to find your individual blueprint for success.

It goes beautifully in line with Baeth's Life Purpose Lab because it's a different way to look at who you are as a person and tap into your core essence. Also, bringing these other ancient concepts in to help heighten that energy and allow you to tap into that present moment, be in the now, be open and receptive to not only abundance in your life purpose but receptive to divine knowledge. I'm an Akashic records practitioner so this is up to my alley. I want to teach you guys more about that self-mastery. We have a waitlist going for this three-part course.

I can give you the details. Mindy and I are creating it and we would love your feedback. I love how excited you are. If you are in this session, you registered to get the link. As soon as the course rolls out, you will all get a notification and a special early bird deal before each of us sends it out to our main list. Those of you that got here, are on the pre-notification or the pre-course waiting list. We will have that information for you because we want to test it and make sure it works for you. We love how excited you all are. You are all on that pre-notification list before we launch the course to our main subscriber list. You will all get a discount for pre-registering by showing up here. I know you are all super excited about that. Mindy, do you want to take some questions?

AYD 18 | I-Ching Method
I-Ching Method: The more you radiate your experiences to the world, the more people can see you for who you are.

Absolutely. I am here for questions.

One in the Q&A says, “I am confused about the order of the lines versus the chart lines. It’s hard to explain in writing.”

Do you know what she means, Mindy?

I believe so. Let's go over this one more time. On your original paper, you have written down 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Each of those numbers will have a line identified with number one because it's the first time you rolled the coins. When you roll the coins, you get a total number and that will go next to line number one. If it's an odd number, you get a solid line, the broken line for those that are even. Once you have rolled all those and gotten your lines, you will have six lines and you want to have a bottom group of three being a trigram that will be called the lower. You have an upper trigram, which is lines 4, 5 and 6. When you see the chart in Divination.com/iching/lookup, you will see the chart there. You have an upper trigram, which is a group of three lines, and then you have a lower trigram, which goes down the graph.

We are going to start the course in July 2021. If you can't attend, it will be recorded and you can always catch the replay. We will have a group for you to be able to access the replay. Thank you all for being here. Let's take questions.

When I did that, I was at a point of confusion about something. I figured it out but I don't know if you are open to this kind of question. I didn't know we were to have an intention. The first one I’ve got was 29. It was water and water, top and bottom, and then that switched to number fifteen. The 29 is dangerous waters. I feel like I have been under siege so it's freaky. The other one is humility. If you have anything to say about that, including I've got physical things going on.

What's interesting is I opened the book and I opened it right to that.

In 29, there's one line in there about making a hasty move. I'm planning on moving soon. I have already had to put it off because of medical stuff. I don't even know when I can go.

What's cool is water and water. I want to tell you that element piece because it's relaxing and flowing. The abysmal, which is 29 is the deep well. It's like being at the bottom of the ocean and now being overwhelmed with confusion because you are surrounded by the abysmal, the forever going. It does say not to act now. It says, “To get into effortless solutions to the trouble at hand.” It does say emotionally ambitious. Blocking the creative from resolving difficulties in your favor with this emotionally ambitious feeling. This is one of those prime examples of the I Ching tapping into the energy you currently have and feel, which is overwhelmed, feeling a little bit like things are going on. It's almost like, “How do I make my way through this?” What it's saying is non-action is the answer now. The answer will come to you as you quiet your mind.

Let's go through number fifteen being modesty. We have a little quote here I will share with you. “The creative acts to empty what is full and to offer abundance to what is modest.” Modesty being, bringing yourself back to the present moment and saying, “What if I didn't have control over this situation? What if I allowed the element of water to take over at this point?” It is a soft flow. Rather than feeling I'm at the bottom of the ocean, it's feeling like I'm a river rock and I am open to the universe softening my surface. Does that make sense?

It makes perfect sense. Thank you.

Thanks, Robin.

I’ve got 36 first, which was the darkening of the light. I'm glad you pre-warned us that it might be a bit of a shock. Thank you. It’s interesting, it says, “When the darkness of stupidity reigns in human affairs, it is best to keep your brilliance hidden under a bushel.” My work is all about not hiding under a bushel and shining bright. Yet, part of our conversation was around all the craziness that's out there at the moment. Interestingly, that's what's come up. I’ve got 3 sixes so that became a nine, which is interesting. That’s a 3, 6, and 9. Within 36 and 9, there's 3, 6, and 9 again. I don't normally have 36 or 9 but I check the transits and they are currently activated.

Let me do this little mini-reading here for you because I have it open here. What I'm seeing between the two correlating together, the darkening of the light isn't so much about the situation at hand trying to dim you. It can be but with the number nine being the taming power of the small, that is an interesting progression. Containment is what I'm hearing. It's like this ability to take all of the chaos that goes on and put it in your little cauldron here, sees it and be like, “Where is the darkness? How can I see that the shadow side still matters? How can I decode what I'm seeing altogether and seeing it as a blessing in disguise in a way?”

It does say here, “In a time such as this, it is wise to adopt a stance of outer disengagement and inner perseverance.” It's what is outside of you versus what is within you and what is yours to carry versus what is other people's burden. That is the message here. It does say, “Darkness reigns in the external world now. Disengage from negative feelings and maintain your inner light.” We have the number nine being the taming power of the small. That is talking about small steps and seeing the beauty in the small things. The darkness being outside of you can penetrate and get into your auric field. The number nine is saying, “Make sure that what you carry along with you is truly yours and honor those small, beautiful moments and seeing the power in what is small.”

It's like thinking of the butterfly, for example. It goes from flower to flower all day, smelling sweet things and it's made of rainbows but it's tiny. It's such a tiny organism and yet, look at the powerful transformation that it represents. Even though it's something tiny, it still is such an empowering piece of the natural world. It's pretending that to you and your situation, what is outside of you looking to try to penetrate your situation? What is maybe some of the smaller details that you can then expand, empower and make that the baseline for the energy that you are putting out into the world and radiating? Does that make sense?

Yeah. It makes so much sense.

We have three more people.

I had a question about the lines versus the chart. What confused me is, the way I read at least, let's say line 4 is solid, 5 is solid and 6 is broken. Do I read it as broken, solid, solid or solid, solid, broken?

You work from the bottom up so 4, 5 then 6.

The lower trigram would be 1, 2 and 3, from bottom to top. When Baeth read something, she switched it around and that confused me. I just wanted to clear that up. Thank you.

I didn't switch it around but thank you. I understand your question though. It makes sense. Do you understand now? Is it clear?

Yes, thank you.

You are covering a lot here in a short amount of time and this is new for you but once you get it, you've got this wonderful tool always available to you. Two more people.

Thank you, Mindy, for this amazing experience. I’ve got the 26 and that is the mountain and heaven, and then it changed to a 41 and it was line three. Can you say something about the mountain, the heaven and so on? How does that compute with human design?

It’s about the elements. It's not just fire, water, air and Earth. It expands to be lake, heaven and thunder. It adds a deeper layer to those elements. It’s a good question there. It correlates well with the zodiac signs as well. That's how we have the way of the mandala and how they are placed. The 41 is mountain and lake, and the 26 is mountain and heaven. You have Earth, air, earth, water. We dive deeper into the elements in the actual course so that might be something that interests you. We can dive into each of those meanings. Essentially, the mountain is about, stand your ground, stay empowered and be unwavering. Heaven is allowing that channel to come through, and then the lake is not quite an ocean. It’s still a body of water that's quite grand but it's not quite as grand as the ocean. It's those different concepts.

For you, a little hot seat here, you started with 26, the taming power of the greats. I love this one. The quote for you is, “In the face of rising tension, keep still. Honor in practice what you have learned from the I Ching.” It's asking you to sit with the energy for a little longer. Though it is a difficult time, it's an opportunity for you to express to the outer world your inner principles. It’s that mountain of staying empowered even the darkest of times as transformation unfolds and as we progress through our experience and go down this crazy road that is life. The more we radiate from the experiences that we have encountered, the more people can see what we radiate. As it says, “Darkness breeds beautiful people.”

Let's go to 21, which is decrease and it is, “Be still. Lessen the power of the ego and misfortune will be avoided.” With the misfortune there but essentially, the decrease is about chopping away what's no longer serving you. We have a big story. It's the taming power of the great. Intuitively for your case, the situation at hand is quite great and you can say, “I am more powerful than XYZ situation.” When it comes to decreasing, it's like, “I have the power to strip away those things that are trying to steal my energy away. It's your empowerment in terms of the outer situation not being able to get you. Your protection is more powerful than the situation at hand and then the decrease is you are that much more powerful than you can strip away and weed out the weeds of whatever that situation is at hand. You can throw away parts of the concept that is towering over you if that makes sense.

I’m about to launch a book about this stuff. It’s amazing. From hell to heaven and how to rise as a goddess from your ashes from the old life. I had this interview and I was like, “You need to call out your own bullshit and then you can thrive in your own lives.” I’m like, “This is so amazing and just by tossing some coins.”

It’s powerful stuff. I love that it goes hand in hand with what you are going through and talk about so that's beautiful.

Thank you, Mae. It’s good to hear from you. Last but not least, Elizabeth is up.

Thank you for picking up. I have a couple of questions. When you have the lines, you said 6, 9 and you take the number across, what happens when in number six, you get to number six? What do you do? You have the 6 and the 9. If I understood correctly, what you take is the number across the line.

Let's do this, and then Mindy can explain it. Elizabeth, tell us your original lines.

It's just a general question. You roll the coin and you get a six, then what do you do? You cannot use the number across.

What do you mean? If you roll the six, which would be three tails or backs of the coin. Even numbers are broken lines but then this would change to a straight line for the new hexagram. If there were any 6s or 9s, they would change.

You do the opposite.

Let me see if I have been following along correctly. Let's say we’ve got a 7, an 8, a 9, another 6 and 7. The odd numbers are solid and even numbers are broken. Do I have that right, Mindy?

Yes.

Wherever you have a 6 or 9, it goes to its opposite. The new hexagram is solid, and then this stays solid. This becomes solid, and then the nine becomes broken.

When you said the opposite, I thought you were referring to the lines on the left. That's where I’ve got confused. The question that I'm interested in is knowing how you relate it to your human design to the mandala? Do you look at the ones that have columns in human design?

When we do the course, you will be using your human design chart as well. In the human design chart, whatever is colored in is you. Whenever you look at your full mandala where you see those bars of color, they are pointing up to the hexagrams that apply to you. Anything in white doesn't apply to you. When you throw the coins, you could pull a hexagram that isn't in your human design. I happen to pull a hexagram that is in my human design but you might not.

A reflector would have nothing.

The reflector doesn't have channels. The reflector has gates and their hexagrams relate to the gates. The reflector has hexagrams, too. There are 64 gates so there are 64 hexagrams and each gate has a specific hexagram. It doesn't change. The only thing that changes is what's after the decimal point in your human design chart and that's the line description, 1 through 6. I've got gate 47 but which line do I have? I have to look at my human design chart. Do I have lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6? It’s because 47.2 is going to be a different frequency than 47.6. The gate is the theme but the lines are the nuance of how that theme plays out in people's individual lives. Do I have that right, Mindy?

Absolutely.

I’ve got number one because I mixed up the values of the chart in the Hexa.

Is that the hexagram you’ve got to number one?

Yeah.

Do you want to share about hexagram number one, Mindy?

That one is easy. It's all creative. You’ve got all solid lines. That's 100% male energy, 100% yang energy and it's the creative action moving forward. It's a yes answer but it will require you to take action. The receptive if you had all open lines would be 100% feminine energy, 100% open or undefined if you will. Going back to the creative, which is what you have rolled in number one, action moving forward, fiery energy, and then the receptive would be watery energy. It would be open to other influences and it would be prompted to remain open and still. You are being prompted with the masculine energy to remain steadfast, keep on moving and take action on that next step.

Thank you. It has been helpful and interesting. I'm excited about this thing.

Mindy found me through Align to Your Design and then had a brainstorm and reached out. She is a projector. I want you all to know projectors, it doesn't mean you can't take action. Put out an invitation. You might get a no. Mindy invited me to discuss this. I was so fascinated, I said, “We've got to do a show.” This episode, I’m explaining this to you from a business standpoint, was a beta test. We wanted to see what the interest level happens to be and most of you are interested, which we are so excited about.

In July 2021, we will be rolling out a three-part course. It will be recorded where we are going to go more in-depth into the chakras, Buddhism, Taoism and your human design chart itself. You are all on the pre-notification list. As soon as a sales page is ready, we will send out the link and you will get a special discount. It's not going to be an expensive course. It's not going to be super pricey but it will be well worth the investment for all of you. You can add this to your toolbox. Mindy, when I met you, you radiated such purity, innocence and light. I want to be in your energy and learn from you because you are so delightful and such a magnificent guide and teacher. Bright and shiny, incredibly beautiful. Be sure to save the chat, Mindy. If you ever have a down day, you've got all these people loving on you. Mindy is a projector. This was a success, wasn't it, Mindy?

I am so thrilled about this. It has been on my heart for such a long time. Finding you as well as the vegan expert who knows this stuff from that perspective and having the dual way of seeing things from two contrasting ideas is cool. I love human design for bringing attention to the I Ching because I love talking about it. I’ve got the tattoo and I feel so in love and it's amazing. Human design is bringing attention to it, which breaks my heart so happy because we get to open the conversation again. It helps everyone to understand their unique blueprint and their purpose. It's so good.

It's so magical. You are in your purpose. For me, that's what I look for when someone wants to collaborate with me, how much joy are they exuding? How excited are they? You do. You radiate a lot. At a young age, you have figured out a lot of this stuff that some of us older folks took a bit longer to decondition. The kids coming in now have such an advantage to not be hit with so much conditioning if they've got enlightened parents. Mindy, thank you for an incredible presentation. Thank you all for your incredible presence and participation, being so alert, and asking such great questions. We will send out a notice soon here about our July 2021 training. Mindy, any final words of wisdom you want to share before we wrap up?

It was so good. Thank you, guys, for your patience and for working through this. I know it was a lot of steps. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to me as well. I'm happy to connect with you. We will be in Baeth’s group so we can open that discussion there as well to continue the questions and connecting. Keep your eyes out for that course. There is a way for you to win some of the reading materials. If you are interested in the I Ching, the Tao Te Ching, the Oracle cards or the gates, definitely keep your eyes on your email from either Baeth or me. We will give you details on how you can receive one of those in your mailbox.

They are going to be part of the bonuses. If you can't wait, you go and buy everything, you will still get the bonuses and give them to a friend, family member or a client. I know some of you are going to go buy everything and dive in. That's what I do. I'm like, “I found this new thing.” I'm going to go find all my I Ching stuff and get rolling with it. Thank you all. Thank you to a wonderful team and Gianna for managing this episode. Thank you to all the members of Align to Your Design and thank you all for sending your friends and family to this community.

Mindy and I are on a mission to assist you all in accessing the depth of who you are and living in a free and abundant world of your own creation. We are so committed to helping people find and live their purpose. Anyone you send our way, we thank you. We appreciate you and acknowledge it if you let us know. Mindy, thank you. Thank you, everyone. You will be hearing from us soon. You will get an email with the replay of this session. Feel free to share that replay with people. I'm also going to post the replay in the Align to Your Design group. Lots of love. Thank you, Mindy. Bye for now, everyone. Have a good one.

Emotional Mastery For Difficult People And Difficult Emotions With Projector Leslie Austin

You are attending the Align to Your Design podcast, where I interview people who I deem aligned to their design, who are doing cool, unusual innovative things in the world with their purpose. How our show is formatted is you meet these incredible guests and we have a cool conversation about their work, and then we look at their chart. I ask every guest before the show what they want to look at in their chart. That's what we do at the end of the show, so you can start to get a taste of human design. If you want to join our community, go to YourPurpose.com/community. You can join the Facebook group. We do trainings in there almost every week unless I'm on vacation or I need a break. If you go into the video section of that group, you can find all the previous recorded trainings. Every couple of months, I do a free multi-day training, which is popular, called the Life Purpose Lab. We have another one coming up, so be sure to go over to YourPurpose.com/community. You can look in the events section as well and see what's going on.

I'm excited about our topic. It's a topic I love. It's a topic that no human can escape. Our topic is emotional mastery for difficult emotions and difficult people because don't we know some difficult people? Yes. Why are they difficult? They don't know how to manage their difficult emotions and you may not know how to manage their difficult emotions, which cause you difficult emotions. Are we confused yet? Yeah. It's a morass of emotional mess that occurs when we do not take personal responsibility, which is something I'm big on. Emotional mastery happens to be one of my life goals for life.

Our guest is the amazing Leslie Austin. She is a PhD, an executive coach, and a psychotherapist with extensive experience helping people resolve seemingly impossible challenges, dealing with difficult people, relationships, emotions, and situations. Usually, her clients have already done significant work on their issues but still feel stuck, unhappy, and unsatisfied. When they work with Leslie, they need to be ready to get results quickly. Leslie's known for a gentle but deeply penetrating way of working with people, which I can attest to. It untangles even the deepest traumas along with her magnificent sense of humor to lighten things up along the way.

Based on over 25 years of experience as a special area of focus, Leslie has created an unusually effective way of understanding and dealing with the toxic influence of excessively narcissistic people in our lives. I read that since the ‘70s, according to Psychology Today, narcissism has increased by 40%. I wonder why. Maybe social media or maybe a lot of things. Nevertheless, you may find you're having to deal with even more difficult people. With that, let's bring on our amazing guest, Leslie Austin, and dive into this conversation about emotional mastery because it is important to your wellbeing in life. Welcome to the show. Leslie Austin, it’s great to be with you.

Thank you.

You work with these clients on how to deal better with these difficult people, as well as difficult emotions and situations. What sets your work apart? What makes your work different from how other coaches, counselors, and therapists deal with these difficult, thorny, emotional situations?

There are two main tenets that are different about the way I work and the first one is mindset. I'm not a fan of the idea of healing or surviving difficult situations or problems. People say, “I proudly say I'm a survivor.” To me, that means you've gotten through a difficult situation but you're still identifying with the victimhood.

Is that why I don't like that word?

Maybe. I don't know. That's why I don't like it. I'm a little bit touchy about healing also because identifying with them, “I’m always healing,” implies in the nuance of the wording that there's something wrong. There's something defective or there's some illness underneath. My whole mindset is thriving using all of your resources to be the best you can be and to find a profound acceptance of who you are. Good and bad, neat and messy, whoever you are, whatever you are, you are perfect the way you are. If you can get peaceful with yourself, then we get to the second tenet, which is, we make all actions based on emotions but does not compel us to act.

If your emotions are engaged behind the thought, then you take an action. Human beings are often messy and we have intense emotions. We think if somebody is giving us a hard time, they have to change. Sorry, you can't change anybody else but you have total control over how you choose to act from your emotions. If you can't control your emotions, once you notice you're angry, it's too late, you're already angry. You can't say, “I'm not going to be angry.” It's not going to work. You're already angry, but you have total choice over how to act from that. What do you want to do? What's the actual effect that you want from your anger? What is your anger telling you?

You can't change anybody else, but you have total control over how you choose to act from your emotions.

It's important information. It doesn't matter what the emotion is. You get so angry you want to kill somebody and some people feel that. What is it telling you? What's wrong that you want to fix? Is there a better way to fix it than committing a crime or harming someone? You need to be truthful with what your emotions are telling you, and then choose how to deal with that and how to find a way to get a better outcome. That's a different mindset than when I was trained as a psychotherapist, especially when it comes to narcissism.

What was the difference? Tell us a bit about the training.

In classical psychotherapy, I was trained as a gestalt therapist. I also studied union and core energetics in a couple of other schools because I'm a constant studier, hungry to know lots of things, and then blend them all into what works for each individual person. I have no shame about pulling from any system. If it works, that's fine with me. The thing about narcissism in classical psychotherapeutic thinking is you can't treat it. It's persistent and they're stuck. All you can do is manage it or get rid of them in your life. That's true for people who are on the extreme spectrum of narcissism. You can't negotiate with them. When you recognize the signs, you do need to get them out of your life unless you are happy suffering being with them. You have to know how to get them out of your life so that they don't keep targeting you. You have to know how to do that safely. That's something I've done over and over in corporate situations with executives who have abusive bosses. Sometimes, with the abusive boss.

Get them to wake up and become a better person, and then they win bigger and they're happier. That's a good outcome for everyone, in situations where women are abused or in difficult relationships and one time with a man who had an abusive wife. It's overwhelmingly women that are abused by men, but not always. What I have seen is if my client is willing to do the work, it's not easy, it goes deep, and it's intense. If you do the work with me and you're up for it, you will change. The responses or reactions you get from the other person absolutely will change and they'll get better the more you master yourself.

You need to learn and understand what I call the game plays. It's like basketball has certain plays and moves in the game. Narcissists have a certain emotional gameplan. I can predict the script and behaviors. I understand behavior and I can tell you what the moves will be. There's a map. What seems chaotic and crazy to you, if you understand their emotional logic, there is a system. If you understand that system and you learn how to navigate it, you can change the relationship. In some cases, it becomes easy to live with that person if you love them and you make it work. They're not going to change completely, but you can make it livable.

In some cases, you'll see that they're not open to change and it's hurting you too much, and then you do need to get out unless you're willing to live that way. Unfortunately, a couple of women I've known have been too scared and too brainwashed by their partner to know that it was hurting them enough to get out. Some do. I have gotten several people out of those situations. As they say in corporations too, I have changed the whole dynamic of a team by working with the narcissistic boss and teaching him or in 1 or 2 cases, her. It's overwhelmingly male but not entirely, teaching him or her how to win smarter, which means not hurting other people.

Women can be narcissistic. In my experience, they go quite far in life. My experience is narcissism is rewarded in our culture.

I might add to the real detriment of the inner lies and the emotional lives of all of those male executives who are the star performers, the top CEOs, and all these big winners that we admire so much, they often have a poor self-image, believe it or not. The secret is they're scared. Anybody who is that much of a bully or that much of a control freak, I'm not going to go into the history of why and how but this is true. Inside, they're a little boy or a little girl and they are terrified that the world is chaotic and that they can't control everything. They overcompensate by trying to control every little thing. Including if you're on the phone with them, they won't let you have the last word. They'll say, “Uh-huh,” or something and hang up. They won't let you say, “Okay bye,” and hang up. If they do, you'll get an email, text, or phone call. They have to have the winning end. You have to be careful. There are all kinds of little subtle tests that I have devised to check how far along the narcissism spectrum and get to know them.

Let's talk about that because I know our readers are fascinated by this. One of them has to have the last word and if you take that from them, you're going to get some follow-up communication. What are some other red flags that you could be dealing with a highly self-centered individual?

One of two things will happen, usually both right with quick order. They will look at me or talk to me and I will feel like I'm the most special person in the world. Their focus is on me. They're this charismatic, charming, and interesting person. They’re connected to me and it feels wonderful, and then I start to feel bad like I'm not good enough. Whatever I can do is never going to be enough. With almost every single senior executive that I've worked with who had this kind of behavior pattern, in the first session, I am always positive. I believe this. “This is the guy that's going to take me down. This is the guy that's going to show me I'm a fraud. I don't know what I'm doing. I'm not going to be able to help him. I'm going to look terrible.” I know now that is concrete evidence that I'm in the right place, I'm with the right client, I know what I'm doing, and I'm seeing the beginning signs of what I need to work with.

AYD 14 | Emotional Mastery
Emotional Mastery: We make all actions based on emotions but it does not compel us to act. If your emotions are engaged behind the thought, then you take an action.

Because you can feel that, you can feel both their magnetism and charisma, which has propelled them so far through life, and yet, your body's own feedback system is saying, “Danger. Alert. This person could cause you a lot of trouble.”

The first thing I teach people who are trying to learn how to deal with these difficult people is, “It's not about you.” This is a hard concept to get but once you get this one, the others become a little easier. Neither the charismatic attention or the diminishing has anything to do with you as an individual person. It's their stuff. You could be anybody that they're connecting to. The reason for that is part of the dysfunction of someone with that extreme pattern of personality is they cannot empathize with anybody outside of themselves. They can't authentically connect and they only relate to people in their world and circumstances in relation to themselves. “Is this helping me? Is this hurting me? Is this person supporting and aligned with me? Are they my enemy?” It's black and white, angel or devil. It will depend on your last contact with them.

If you said something that was supportive, then you're good and they'll be nice to you. If you've questioned something they said, you might be a bad guy. None of that is about you because they're not relating to you one-on-one intimately. They're stuck in their own world. They’re stuck in their own thing and they're playing it out on you. If you're able to get that little bit of distance and that inner security and strength to start observing and watching the pattern of what's happening, you can go far to shifting the relationship or knowing how to get out without hurting yourself. You don't want to hurt the other person. Don’t forget that. Revenge is not sweet here.

I had a long-term friendship and there were things going sideways in that relationship. I don't think I communicated well but I did challenge this individual. That was the last time we ever spoke. I realized I hadn't ever challenged her in that way before, where I flat out said, “I don't think what you're doing is healthy or correct.” It's hurting other people and me.

There are two elements in what you're saying that would have had her drop you off or least, get rid of you. Number one, she would have been surprised at what you were saying.

I don't think she thought that at all. She thought she was just doing the right thing.

People with strong narcissistic patterns hate surprises because they immediately feel inadequate and that somebody is going to get them. It's a survival thing. “I'm under attack. I didn't know that.” It's a fear thing. Surprises are not good to spring on them. Secondly, you had the audacity to express an opinion. You expressed an opinion that was truthful and authentic for you to express, but it wasn't what they wanted to hear. Therefore, you were wrong and bad because their version of themselves didn't suit what you were saying.

They have to keep that image intact and I'm a threat to the image because I'm challenging their self-image.

Off with your head, you're gone.

We had a mutual circle and she told everyone, “I will never speak to her again.” I was like, “That's telling after 25 years of friendship.” She was always dishing it out to me and I was like, “Fine. I can take it.”

Narcissists can't authentically connect and they only relate to people in their world and circumstances in relation to themselves.

It's one way.

I wish I had spoken to her sooner, but I've replayed it in my mind and I'm like, “It wouldn't have mattered how I said it when I said it.” It might have if I'd met you because I love this person. That's what's so interesting. I still love her and care about her. She's not a bad person. She's a good person, but there's this defended part of her. I don't even want to label her a narcissist. I'm not a clinician. There's a protected part in this person emotionally. The way they're acting, this difficultness that they're creating for others is coming from control. Do I have that right?

Yes, absolutely. Two things. I'm trying to be careful not to call them narcissists. That’s putting them in a box, but with narcissistic behaviors or patterns. They’re whole people who behave in a certain way that's dysfunctional. They're not a diagnosis to me. I'm not a big fan of the DSM. The second thing is I can't go into the whole system, but had you known at the time, here's how you could have tried to speak to her to see if you could get through. You could have gone to her and said, “I'd love to share some things that I'm thinking and feeling and I'd love your take on them.” There's a structure for how you have to speak. There are sentences you have to memorize.

People object at first and they say, “I'm manipulating.” “Why do I have to do that?” The answer is because they're speaking Greek and you're speaking French. If you want to talk to them, you have to learn Greek. You have to learn narcissistic emotional structure if you want to get through their emotional language. “I want to tell you some things. Some things are bothering me. I'd like to talk them out with you and I'd love to hear your take. Would you be willing to hear me out?” You're taking it away from, “You did this. I did this.”

If it gets into what happened and how hurt you felt, you can't say, “You did this to me.” What you need to say is, “When you did that, I felt this.” You're putting the responsibility for their reaction where it belongs on you, but you're highlighting that she did something that she didn't know affected you that way. You're not blaming, attacking, or pointing fingers, but you're truthfully saying, “When you did that, I felt this, and I was upset,” which is totally different than saying, “When you did that, you made me feel this.” It didn't make you feel it. You felt it.

There's a huge difference. I try to do that in all my communication now. I say to people, “When this happened, I felt.” I even will clarify sometimes and say, “You're in no way responsible for what I'm feeling. I'm responsible for what I'm feeling. I'm noticing what I'm feeling, so I want to communicate with you.” We can then get to a good feeling.

This is not just true for narcissism. This is true for all of our emotions. All of our emotions are important information. We need to listen to them and find out what it is our emotions are telling us that needs fixing or adjusting or being made better or change. Call upon all our good inner resources. What's a better way to go about getting that? If you're not sure but you feel compelled to act, make a small action. If it's one that has negative consequences, the consequences are small because the action was small. You can reconnoiter, be resilient, and move.

This is an emotional strategy. I teach people emotional strategy. The fun thing is after a while, when you start to get in the groove of it, it becomes instinctive. My happiest thing is when I'm working with someone. Commonly, I'll work with an executive client for four months. It’s a short period of time, intense work, and changes happen. What I always tell them in the first session, and this is true with individual clients, too, “I hope you don't have a lot of big a-ha’s because I don't trust them. They don't last. I hope that you enjoy talking with me and you think not a lot is going on from week to week. Two or three months from now, I'm going to point out to you that you are reacting instinctively quite differently than you were and you're managing through sticky situations so much better.”

How did that happen? It was seamless and it's become part of your instinctive reaction, so you don't have to think about it. What we're doing is retraining your neurology to help you behave differently, so you get different responses. It's organic. I love it when people say, “I'm having a great time. What are we doing?” I point out, “You told me how you dealt with that situation. What would you have done three months ago?” They're like, “I get it.” The ironic thing is ideally down the road, I make myself obsolete, which is exciting and sad at the same time because I usually end up liking my clients.

They send you referrals I'm sure. What are some of the outcomes that your clients experience? Follow that question with, how do their lives change after doing their work with you?

AYD 14 | Emotional Mastery
Emotional Mastery: People with strong narcissistic patterns hate surprises because they immediately feel inadequate and that somebody is going to get them. It's a survival thing.

The outcomes that they experienced are usually clear and specific. They gain clarity and mastery over their own inner lives. They realize that they have a choice and they can pilot and navigate themselves in their lives with much more wisdom and foresight, and being more authentic and true to themselves than they ever thought. You can change many more emotions that you think you can't. The key is letting them be. Not trying to change them when you're first aware of them, but going into them, tracking them, unpacking them, getting the information out, and then choosing your strategy plan for what you want to do with them.

It sounds complicated but over time, it becomes instinctive and you just do it. We're all human beings and we're all messes. I've been doing this for years and I absolutely have moments when I'm in a big fail. I get mad and pop off like everybody else does. You can't expect something unreasonable but you can expect so much better, happier, thriving, resilient, more confident, more secure that you can handle difficult situations, and to know when you can't. Have that boundary when enough is enough, which we're not talking about culture.

Our culture is odd. It's be happy all the time and more. You don't have enough but we need more.

Our culture is left brained, five senses ordinary world. To me, it lacks an emphasis on the soul, spirit, higher being, and the place of art and creativity comes from.

Nuance and subtlety.

All the things that have meaning that aren't tangible and earning money.

It's primitive.

It’s lopsided.

It used to be food and now it's money. You transferred the scarcity fear. For many years, people called you The Lion-Tamer. Where did that name come from? How did you use that as your brand? Follow up with, what has your brand evolved into? For many years, you were The Lion-Tamer.

I was working with a coach and entrepreneur many years ago. He’s a well-known, irascible guy. I was at one of his workshops. This is quite a long time ago. We were talking about forming your brand. At that time, I was doing majorly executive coaching with CEOs, senior executives, senior managers, and teams of executives in many industries. I said to him, “When I start working with these guys, I simply feel like I'm a lion-tamer because this team I'm working within the derivatives area for a global bank are all at each other's throats. They're competing with each other to be a bigger, better king instead of looking that the department is a mess, it's not functioning, and why aren't they fixing it.” He said, “That's your brand. You're the lion-tamer.” Everybody in the room went, “That's great,” so I started using it.

You can change many more emotions that you think you can't. The key is to let them be, not to try to change them.

The reason it worked for so many years is when I say my clients affectionately call me the lion-tamer, people know instinctively without me explaining what I do. By the way, it's all positive reinforcement. It's not the lion-tamer with the whip and the gun. It's the positive one. I used to use a little logo of a lion and a top hat with a cane like he was dancing and smiling. That was the lion-tamer image. You have to support people and not make them feel bad or criticize them because then, you're re-traumatizing them. It's entirely possible to deal with people's profound traumas and have them go through them, release them, clear them out, and let them go without re-traumatizing yourself in the process. There's a lot of work going on trauma these days because so many people have dramatic experiences of many kinds. Many of the methods that I see don't want to take the person into the place and you don't have to take them into that traumatized place in order to clear it.

I was thinking about that friendship that went sideways and I take responsibility for possibly re-traumatizing her in my upset, not knowing.

You have to be careful taking too much responsibility.

I don't know that I did, but the reaction is the feedback. The feedback is the feedback.

The reaction there is evidence that she was a closed-loop and nothing you could have done would have gotten through anyway. You might have had a small chance of something, but you'd have to know how to negotiate that structure. It can sometimes be challenging.

People have complicated structures. What has your brand evolved into? Are you still The Lion-Tamer?

To some clients, I'm The Lion-Tamer but now, I'm talking about emotional mastery because it's a broader umbrella and the lion-taming comes under that. I've dealt with so many different clients and so many different issues and domains over the years that Lion-Tamer has become too narrow for me. I love it but it's a part of what I do and the big umbrella is emotional mastery.

It reminds me of, in the Rider-Waite tarot deck, there’s the strength card, the number nine card where the goddess is holding the mouth open of the lion. I have a version of that. It’s a tapestry that hangs in my bedroom. It's a little fairy lady sitting on the lion carrying this staff that's a heart and a sun. She's the yin and yang and she's sitting on the line and the lion is happy. To me, that real strength is emotional mastery and the lion represents our primitive, instinctive, wild, hungry, and passionate emotional self. There's nothing wrong with that. It's knowing how to manage it depending on what environment we find ourselves in.

I happen to have a Leo moon astrologically, so I like the lion imagery. It suits me well.

What is your sun sign?

AYD 14 | Emotional Mastery
Emotional Mastery: If you are able to just get that little bit of distance and that little bit of inner security and strength to start observing and watching the pattern of what's happening, you can go very far to shifting the relationship.

I'm an Aquarius. It would help me. There are a bunch of planets in Aquarius. I have a Leo moon opposite. I have Scorpio rising square both of them. Almost everything in my chart is connected. When one aspect hits, the whole chart says, “We're all active.” It's quite an experience.

That's great for what you do. Why don't we take a look at your human design?

I've studied astrology for a couple of years since I was about 16 or 17. The thing about human design which I first was introduced to in 2010 or 2011, I learned things about myself as a projector in human design that I had learned nowhere else and it changed my life to understand that. The more I've gotten into understanding my chart and my design more in-depth, the more powerful it is because I do so many different kinds of things in so many different modes. This is not ego, but anybody who comes up to me with an issue, I'll know how to work with them to solve it. It's hard for me to know how to describe myself to people in a cohesive, clear way. My human design tells me how to talk about that. It's so powerful. It's amazing.

It's good stuff. I'm going to get your chart. Let's go to the body graph. To our audience, as you know and if you're new to the show, you don't necessarily know this. Before every interview, I ask our guests what in their human design they want to focus on so that we can focus on something and make it as succinct as possible. Leslie sent in her request to take a look at the human design from the perspective of creating an elevator pitch. I'm going to give a little explanation of what I mean, and then we're going to look at it numerically because human design ultimately is math.

Many of you are familiar with the idea of hopping on an elevator. Maybe you're at a conference and someone sees your name tag and realizes you're at the same conference, so what do you do? Hopefully, you tell them something about what you can do for them or someone they know. That's the hope. What most people do in their elevator pitch is they stumble over their words or they list a litany of things they can do, “I'm a speaker and a writer. I care.” Great, but what do you do? How do you help people?

People are lost. This is something I feel like people ought to be able to learn in college or in high school even how to present yourself. When we look at a human design chart, we're going to look at five celestial locations in your chart, Leslie, that help spell out the elevator pitch, and then we'll put it all together. All of you following along at home, you can circle these positions. You likely will have different numbers in these positions. The positions are important. I'm not going to do a whole preamble about human design, so we're just going to dive right in. The first thing we're going to look at is we're going to look at the design Jupiter and the fancy number four symbol is Jupiter. Leslie's is in gate 61, which is up off the head or the crown and it's in line 6. We're not going to worry about this line, the color. This particular chart goes deep into the gates.

Let me back up. The design Jupiter represents your business structure, business themes, business alliances, as well as ideal clients. In other words, it's the people in the realm. The way Jupiter expands is through leveraging the efforts of other people. The design side is the physical body and the personality side is the mind. Your body is for you and your mind is for other people. It's good to keep that in mind. Your mind is for the other. Your body instinctively knows how to do its thing. For you, Leslie, to build your realm, in this case, let's talk about clients because that's what we want to attract with our elevator pitch. Your ideal client is searching for the mystery. They are interested in deep thoughts.

Gate 61 is the deepest of thoughts and line 6 is a system for accessing that mystery. In this case, the mystery of, how do I deal with these difficult people? I shared a little example, but there's a litany of tragic communications from my life. I'm sure I'm not the only one, where I didn't know the system for communicating well or I did know it but my emotions overrode it or whatever the situation was. Your ideal client is someone who wants your unique proprietary system applied to them so that they can break through something that has been mysterious to them. They're mystified by what's happening. You can use that language. You're completely mystified, baffled, unable to understand how this is a problem and why you can't solve it on your own. That's your ideal client.

In terms of who you associate with, your business affiliates, business partners, employees, and your team, still all Jupiter, you need people who see the big picture, understand you're building a system, are also interested in the inner mystery, and are deeply spiritual themselves. The secret wish of every single person's ideal client is whatever is across from the design Jupiter gate. In this case, what's across from 61 is gate 24. This is interesting. You don't have gate 24. You might have it but you don't have it in your design. I have gate 24. You're attracting people who have gate 24. Gate 24, on the shadow side, is reliving things to the point of obsession and then rationalizing stuff you ought not to rationalize. Don't rationalize that bad behavior.

The upside of it is being able to rationalize most situations to find the silver lining, so it's a fine edge. Their secret wish is that they want to find out that it's not their fault, whoever they are, the person who's in the hot seat because they were recommended for their bad behavior, or the person who is being assaulted by this bad behavior or at least troubled by it. They are rationalizing that they don't mean it and they only get this way on Tuesdays or whatever. They're rationalizing the behavior. Their secret wish is that they could find a justification for what is happening, which you provide.

For all of you reading this, whatever is in your design Jupiter, I want you to look at what's across the way. The gates that create a channel. For example, 35 goes to 36. You don't have this channel. If a person had gate 35 as their design Jupiter, they're going to pull in people who have the 36 and it creates the whole channel. The thing about these opposite ends of the channel, also known as, the gates are opposite energies. Gate 61 wants to go deep into the heart of the matter and 24 wants to get to the rationalization. “Let's get to the explanation. Let's justify this thing.” That's what your secret wish is. It’s whatever is across from the structure you're here to build in design Jupiter.

You have to really support people and not make them feel bad or criticize them because then you're retraumatizing them.

What they want to achieve is your core genius, it’s design Earth. What they want to achieve is gate 2, line 2. This is huge. What your clients want to achieve is they want to find the correct direction in life with the right partners by their side because line 2 is hermit energy but it's also partnership. To clarify, what the hermit is partnering with is their creativity, the muse. That's the partnership. You do that in private. “I'm going to go into my creativity room. I'm going to paint. I'm going to write. I'm going to broadcast.” Whatever you're going to do. Whenever someone has gate 2, they're providing the direction to the rest of humanity. All the people with gate 2 or the whole channel of the 214 provide the direction for the rest of us. They’re saying, “Here's where we need to go.”

Human design is amazing.

You're bringing us something from the future. You're bringing us better technology for relationships because gate 2, line 2 is direction and partnership. Numerology is numerology. The numbers are what the numbers are. What I love about this system is it’s clean and precise. Design Earth is your core genius and that's true for everyone. That's a term from Richard Rudd, just to let everyone know where I pulled the term core genius from. That's what the clients want to achieve. They want to achieve a healthy direction in their partnerships with others.

Their secret wish is they can understand the other. They'll settle for having a pleasant interaction, but they want to understand. We've got your ideal client, their secret wish, and what they want to achieve. Your life's work is what they're paying you for. This is true for everyone. This is our personality sun. It's what everybody sees from Western astrology. In this case, the Aquarian. It's gate 19, which is all about how you approach things to get good results. It's way down off the route. It's the fuel to approach a situation in such a way as to get one's needs met.

That sounds simple. This gate, therefore, also is the gate of the healer, the shaman, and the transformation agent because it is in the correct approach to the individual or the group where the alchemy happens and where they open to the healing. It's line 6, so you're teaching people. A line 6 person is teaching new approaches to others. That's what they're paying you for. “How do I approach this situation for a different result? By keep approaching it the way I'm approaching it, that's going to keep blowing up in my face.”

I can't tell you how confirming it is and how happy it makes me the way you're describing it because it's so me. It's so profound that it is so me. It is inspiring.

I'm so glad. Here's the thing. The personality represents the mind and the mind is for other people. Our personality is for the other, so get a good personality, everyone. You and I have good personalities, Leslie, because we know our personalities so people will get close to us so we can share our gifts with them. If you're a jerk all the time, you're not going to win a lot of friends and influence people. Thank you, Dale Carnegie. Your new outcome for the client is personality Earth, which also happens to be the life lesson for you, the possessor of the personality. This is a retreat, line 6. What this is telling me is you, Leslie, need to honor the retreats in your life because that's where you integrate and to not put pressure on yourself to always be performing.

That's a major lesson to learn starting with when I found that I was a projector. A couple of times, I went close to major burnout because I thought I had to keep performing and doing, and I couldn't sustain it. I’m much better off not doing that.

The other thing about line 6 is it's a profound connection to nature. I've never met a person with a 6 in their profile that didn't have some attraction to the outdoors. They can’t help themselves. Sailing, snowboarding, bird watching, walking, jogging, or whatever it is. You want to be outside. Your retreat is great in nature. The new outcome your clients want is, in many ways, to be able to take a break and know that everything's going to be okay. They need a vacation after they work with you.

Also, part of that is I encourage people to go much slower than they think they need to as we're working. Ironically, that gets in there much faster.

AYD 14 | Emotional Mastery
Emotional Mastery: You're not blaming, attacking, pointing fingers, but you're truthfully saying, look, when you did that, I felt this.

In a sense, that's the thing with 33 is it's about building in retreat to all aspects of our life. For example, during your day, when do you take breaks? During the week, when do you take breaks? During the month, when do you take breaks? How many vacations in the year? When do you take a break from a difficult situation? When do you take a break to celebrate what you've achieved? To review this, to wrap up, your ideal client wants a system to solve the inner mystery. That's what they're wanting.

Their secret wish is the gate across from what they want, which is, “Please, for the love of God, rationalize and justify this craziness to me because I don't understand this. Nothing's working.” Their secret wish is they get to the real practical root of what the hell is going on. What they want to achieve is a new direction and more fulfillment in their relationships. It's gate 2, line 2. Your core genius is relating. It’s emotions. It's all about the love of one's direction in life because all the gates of the G Center are some forms of love. The G Center withholds us together. Essentially, all objects, living and inanimate, are held together by love. You have 6 of the love gates out of 8.

Is that why I'm so emotional and I cry so easily?

Of course. The thing is, with all that love in you plus a good sense of self, you're clear about who you are with a defined G Center. It's not like, “Who's Leslie?” You know Leslie. Leslie is solid in Leslie. You're calm and solidity inside yourself gives people a lot of support. What you've got is you've got the entire leadership channel here, which is leading the army and creating a movement. People ask you to lead. The 13-33, which of is the ultimate life purpose channel. The 13 knows where someone belongs, what seat they belong in, as the saying goes at work. The 33 is being able to pull from the past, pull from examples because you took time to take stock. The new outcome for these people is they're going to go slower. They're going to pause before they open their mouths. They're going to think before they shoot from the hip. That's their new outcome. They are more thoughtful and are more patient in their communication.

What they need to know is that gap between the impulse and the waiting, that time period can be a microsecond, weeks, or years. You don't know what length that is. It can be a microsecond. It's not like you're stuffing and pressing yourself. That was absolutely amazing. I appreciate that you did that.

It was my pleasure. Will you tell everyone where they can go get more Leslie Austin and join your community?

Thank you so much. What a nice introduction.

It’s so nice to be with you. I can’t wait to get into what you’ve done for me. Let’s let them wait a little bit more. How did you get started with your coaching business? We have a lot of coaches that read the show and a lot of people that want to get into coaching. Will you talk about how that came about for you?

It was a road. I know it was a lifelong journey. I’m having people that they know I’m doing this talk it about that I used to do it in high school and I didn’t even realize it. The road to doing it was pretty long and arduous. At 50 years old, I had been doing back doing real estate. I was divorced, had a near-death experience, had all kinds of financial issues from the divorce. All along, I’d been taking coaching and doing my own personal development. I had a call with a coach who asked me, “How much longer are you going to hide?” I was in my basement, hiding from my three kids that were upstairs. It was a metaphor. It was like, “I can’t hide anymore.” Within weeks, I had my first paying client. I turned 50. I knew that the time had come.

What’s one thing that people don’t realize about the coaching business?

People don’t understand what true transformation is or they can be lining up. You’ve got all different types of coaches. Not all coaches are transformational coaches. If people understood what coaching is about, had a good coach and how many areas of your life can shift, that is one thing. When you talk about coaches wanting to get into coaching, I remember in a class, the coach was teaching a class. It was David Nagel. He talked about that our job as coaches is to turn a need into a want. It’s the truth. People are walking down the street going, “I want transformation.” They want to be happier. They want to make more money. They’ve got all those but they don’t exactly know how to do it so they go through life tolerating.

What’s the thing that people seem to misunderstand about you?

I have a very strong personality and I came in like that. After working with human design with you, I understand the 34-20 and the 3/5. I can come into a room and split it. Before you understand that, it can be hard. The same thing that people are attracted to, it automatically could be the opposite too. It happens.

We’ll talk about the 34-20 and the 3/5. For those of you who are new to human design, one of the things we do with our guests is we look at every guest chart if they’ll let us sit in course sets. Contingent on them being on the show, we get to look at their chart. Tandy referred to the 34-20 channel and the 3/5 profile. We will touch on that. A lot of the readers will have these things in their design or know people that do. It’s fascinating to me to see the person, you and then look at a chart, which is a map. You’re not the chart. As the saying goes, the map is not the territory. You are the territory. The map is to give you guidance. We’ll have a look at that.

Together we create where you're going. It shows the present and the past. Together, we create the future using the physical space.

I look at this as a tool. There are other modalities. I’ve seen people use it for dysfunction too. You are always so clear that it is a tool, a guide and a way of living but you can’t use it to stay in your stuff. I see people take things like that. You’re so good about making sure that that doesn’t happen. That’s important for me. It comes down to your personal responsibility and how you take the information.

To not use the information as an excuse to keep learning more information rather than applying it.

Also, to stay stuck.

People can use anything to stay stuck. It’s incredible. I want to talk about what you have been doing with me and so many clients. I’m getting chills. With this process, I could cry. First of all, I’m satisfied, which is my signature as a generator. Everything in my life is satisfying. My health, body, hair is cooperating. I’m having mostly good hair days to be totally superficial. The process that you have undertaken with me and we’re still in the midst of it so we have more to do but will you share with our audience what you’re doing with me in my physical space? Maybe share about one of your other clients where they’ve had something happen they didn’t expect? We can get more into what you’re doing with me.

To give a real background, the basis of what I do is while I was in real estate post-divorce, doing all the coaching training, I was drawn after the near-death experience to do all of this healing work. The feng shui showed up which I didn’t know anything about it. I thought that’s interesting. It’s instinctive feng shui from Denise Linn, who’s the Hay House author. That is how I started. I’ve had many training, BTB, some training, which is Black Hat Sect feng shui and then this innate. I have no idea why I’m so intuitive in physical spaces but that’s the truth. The basis with the guiding thing is this instinctive feng shui. The way I work and apply it is different. It’s not designed.

I connect people to their physical space. It’s an intimate relationship. People in their space are intimately connected. I use it to coach people through. It speaks to me. Your physical space and the things in it are a cluster of items or things that tell a story about who you are, where you’ve been, what you’re about might show values, what you love. It could show your religious background but it will always show me where you’re blocked from what you say you want. I could see the blocks and how to unstick that. Together we create where you’re going. It shows the present and the past. Together, we create the future using the physical space. It also works for business. The business breakthroughs through the office and the home space oftentimes.

When we met around this, I sent you pictures from the entryway into space, the different rooms. I live in a two-bedroom townhome. It’s a pretty good size. It’s about maybe 1,400 square feet of living space but there’s a weird layout. It’s not a perfect rectangle. There’s one room that goes out over the garage next to the stairs. There are the rest of the apartments towards the back because I’m on the top floor. My environment is mountains in human design. I need to live on the top floor of my building, which is great. I’ve always got a view. I walked you through. I showed you the pictures. We did a little walk-through. We got on Zoom. You made suggestions for each of the spaces. “Move this here. Try this color here. Get rid of that stuff. Put this remedy here.” For example, the crystals at the front door.

I got these big 8-inch round balls and hung them by the front door. You can explain what that’s about. My experience is walking through the different aspects of the home, seeing how different parts of the home activate different things in my life. There’s one area at the front office that was the junk room that I hadn’t gotten to was my career and business space which I’m in. It’s a work in progress. One of the things you said to me was to get a map and put it across where I can see it. I went to an antique store. It was $100 at the antique store. The frame alone is a $300 frame. It’s a gold foil, ancient dual circle maps. It has astrology in it. It has Greek gods and goddesses in it. It’s so beautiful. It’s right across from where I’m sitting. I was going to put it behind me but then I realized it would reflect the light and be annoying on Zoom. You said, “Put a map across.” There’s a map there. I’ve got the new black ceramic curtain rod waiting for the new long 108-inch drapes. I’m going piece by piece. I’m checking things off that list. We had a four-page list. I’ve been working my way through the corrections.

The other thing I want to say to the audience and I want you to talk about is this hasn’t been expensive. This hasn’t broken my bank account. Working with you is reasonable. You don’t undercharge but it’s affordable. It’s not like a $20,000 design fee which is where most designers start. It gets $10,000 or $20,000 to get started. It was not with you. It was a very reasonable investment. It was enough of an investment. I’m going to pay attention to what she has to say. Your instructions were crystal clear. I’ll share what’s happened since but I would love for you to talk about how you developed this process. That’s the first question and then we’ll go from there. I have more questions. How did you develop this process you took me through? I love it.

It was overtime and there’s an important distinction here that I need to make. I am not a designer. You do not want me picking colors out. I pay people to pick colors out. Some people talk about my blue behind me. I had to embrace blue. This is the only shade I like. I’m all about the fire. I had to bring the water so it’s a balance which brings me to what I wanted to talk about with your map. It’s beautiful that you put that up. There’s a reason I said a map. Not everybody needs to have a map. We talked about it and I could see that. You brought your intention in, waited and the right thing showed up. That is what’s so critical with this. It’s your intention. I’m a guide with it but the instinctive feng shui honors that you intuitively know what’s best for your space. It’s amazing at teaching that. I’ve taken it and put my own spin on it.

AYD 13 | Creating Success
Creating Success: People are walking down the street going, "I want transformation." They want to be happier, they want to make more money, but they don't exactly know how to do it.

It is the personal breakthroughs, the business breakthroughs that come from connecting you with your environment to the degree that I have been shown that is all guided. I got started on this. I went into coaching from doing the feng shui because I could see that every time I was doing that, I was poaching. Here’s a true thing for this interview. I left a lot of the intuition, a lot of my skills that I developed in order to be a coach years ago. I followed what other people told me to do. I had to be a business coach. I left a lot of this. This work with you has given me the next level of permission of bringing this forward even more. It’s been back there. If you followed me for years, you would see it. Instead of that, it’s up and center because it needs to be seen and heard in the world. It’s important. It’s transformational.

Let’s talk about love, money and business. You know about my love life. Most of our readers are aware that it’s a humorous thing. I can laugh about it. My life lesson has been intimacy. Now that I understand my design, I also have compassion for why it’s been my lesson because people project so much stuff on me that I haven’t always made the best choices. I misunderstood the information coming to me from my environment. Everyone needs to learn what we’re talking about here in school. Needless to say, it’s been very challenging. Although I have no regrets, I’ve learned much after the last relationship, which for a lot of it was good and was right for the time in my life but it came to an ending and it needed to end. We had completed our contract. It took me a while to recover from that ending and integrate the lessons.

I want to start dating again. Right around the time I started working with you, I had met someone. I said to you, “I feel good about this connection. I want to ensure that we can deepen the connection.” You had suggested to me to put some things in the romance corner. The color in there was pink and red. I already had a salmon pink couch I had gotten delivered months before so that was helpful but he’d given me this beautiful gift. I put it there in that corner. Not too long after, he and I sat in that very corner and had the conversation about being exclusive right in that corner.

We created the space and it was wonderful. We had turned the flames on the TV because I don’t have my new fireplace installed yet. We had flames on YouTube crackling in the background and candles. Neither one of us drinks alcohol. Occasionally I’ll have a sip. We were drinking our ice coffee at 10:00 at night. We were sitting cross-legged, facing one another on this couch. We had easily a 3 or 4-hour conversation that went all over the place. I said to him at some point where it was natural to ask, “What about Tinder?” He brought up his phone. He showed me the app, took a screenshot and hit delete. He didn’t even say anything. I did the same. We did it right in front of each other. It blew me away.

I could see it in my mind’s eye that room and all of that. There’s a little magic involved. You use your intention and the physical items that represent what you want to bring in. Congratulations.

Thank you. I moved into my new office. The frame on that map has the same matte color as the new carpet. The frame itself is black and gold, as you suggested. It was custom-made. I walked into the antique store, “I have to have that.” I was with the guy I’m dating. He said, “You got to get that. You’re going to buy that.” He’s 6’5”. He carried it to my car like it was a paper bag. It weighs 100 pounds. I moved into this office. We had a launch. I have $85,000 in sales since I moved in. I have some new coaching clients. Private clients have come on board and they wired the money. They go, “I want to keep working with you. I’m ready to start working with you.” It’s been very abundant and inflow since I moved into this space as well. Those two things in particular.

Those are some good results. That’s how it works. You’ve seen those other testimonials. It does. It takes an open mind, clear intention and implementation. It’s not hard implementation but there can be resistance. If you have a room that always has clutter in it, those types of things can be a bigger thing. That is a block. Clutter is anything unloved, unused. It’s stagnant energy.

Tell us about a client that you’ve done this for and they got an unexpected result.

There are so many. I’ll pick one. I helped somebody create another bedroom, another love space, a relationship space. Not only did she bring a partner in but she realized that she did not like men anymore. That was one. It was all part of the whole thing but it was creating a space for that transformation to come through. I was thinking about when you said, “What’s one thing where I helped somebody and something happened?” I was with a client at an event. She had a booth and I had stopped by. I’m standing with someone else that knew her. We didn’t know that each of us knew her. He says to me, “She was completely unrecognizable from years ago.” She did work with me for a few years off and on coaching and transforming.” It wasn’t just the physical change. It was the transformation of powerlessness to empower and how that showed up physically. Everything about her business changed. To have somebody on the outside that didn’t know we were working together say, “She is unrecognizable.” That was a big one.

Congratulations on making that impact. You are making a wonderful impact.

Transformation takes an open mind, clear intention, and implementation. It's not hard implementation but there can be resistance.

Thank you. Take that in. It’s an interesting work. It’s always sometimes like, “What if it’s not going to work?” It’s never going to work. Every single time, there is formulaic within me but it’s divinely guided.

Why don’t we have a look at your chart? Before we do, I want to tell people where to go. Go to TandyPryorCoaching.com/tribe. It will take you to Tandy’s amazing Facebook Group. You can reach out to Tandy directly if you like to work with her. She does show in there. Anything else you want to say about the Facebook Group and why people want to drop by?

I do all kinds of fun stuff in there. I have a specific feng shui Friday. We talked about feng shui. In Tuesday, I teach about coaching mindset. I answer some Q&A, some questions that people have sent in. I try to give good content in there. I’m super excited about that group. It’s growing because the content is good. People are referring people like crazy. I love that.

Congratulations.

Thank you.

You’re welcome. We’re going to look at your human design chart. I always ask a guest what they want to talk about. We’re going to talk about your incarnation cross which includes that 34-20 channel and your profile, the 3/5. For those of you who are new to the show, this advanced rave chart overview is from Maia Mechanics Imaging. It’s software available from the Jovian Archive. I’m licensed to use the software. It runs these detailed reports which are great for doing human design readings and studies. We’re going to talk about Tandy’s profile with Tandy here, which is great so we can get feedback in real-time and her incarnation cross. For all of you in your designs, the profile is what Ra Uru Hu, who downloaded this system calls The Costume of Your Purpose. The incarnation cross is the expression. The profile is the behavioral vehicle that you’re designed to use for this incarnation cross to manifest.

It is not guaranteed that people will fulfill their incarnation cross. However, it is the goal. The writing of the cross is a sleeping phoenix. It’s very interesting. I want to pause for a moment. We’ll come back to the chart. You have the incarnation cross that is the new frequency we’re moving into in 2027. Your incarnation and all of the other people on the planet that have that incarnation cross are already electrically wired to this new frequency coming in. These frequencies move in huge cycles and then smaller cycles, 411-year cycles. We’re ending a cycle of a tribal organization to simplify it. That would include here in the United States things like the postal service, firefighters, police and public school systems. We’re watching all of that disintegrate before our eyes. I hate to break it to people, it’s not coming back. I tried to talk to my sister about this. She kept saying to me, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I said, “I’ll send you some audios and it will explain it.”

We’re going through this huge shift. You carry this frequency of the new 411-year cycle we move into in 2027, which is all about individual expression, creative fulfillment and sexual fulfillment. It’s sensual, creative and individual. We’re moving out of tribal, everything for the tribe. “How does this serve the most people? What’s best for the masses?” That’s falling away as a consciousness. All the people born under this cross, which started in 1615, will all carry that frequency even you will carry it because we were born under it. We come to expect that this is how the world is. This is not how the world is all the time. It’s just during this transit, this cycle. You are in the embodiment of individual creative expression, sensual fulfillment, dietary fulfillment. The sleeping phoenix is about the spirit being fulfilled.

It has 55, 59 in there. Gate 55 is the abundance of spirit and Gate 59 is sexuality and all that it can create. It isn’t just about sex. We know sex was set up. The whole way sex works are so well procreated, hence the design of sex to get us to do it a lot. Nature’s ingenious. Do it even when you don’t want children because that’s the nature of the body. It’s very sensual. You’ll have this 34-20 channel which isn’t sensual. It is very much about, “I have to take what I’m thinking and what I’m feeling. I have to turn it into something.” Those thoughts and words must become deeds. Anyone with a 34-20 tends to put their money where their mouth is and they follow through. It’s a rare 34-20 that doesn’t follow through but usually, they’re very conditioned and don’t understand themselves. I know a lot of people with the 34-20. I’ll bring up your chart. You’re all go-getters. Here’s your design.

34-20 goes up like that, 34 off the sacral. It’s a sacral or sex chakra-powered force. It’s the only gate of the sacral that isn’t particularly sexual or sensual interestingly enough. It doesn’t have that sex energy to it. It is a pure creative power that’s driving towards the throat. This is the only manifesting generator channel. It directs the channel from the sacral to the throat. The twenty is the voice of the now. When you speak in the now, when you’re doing an interview, when you’re helping me or another client with their space, there’s a magic that pours through you at the moment from the sacral. It’s an instinct. I don’t think I’ve ever described this well. Gate 34 picks up the sound frequency in the environment. It travels that channel to your throat. You’re able to translate what the sound or the sensation is telling you about the space and then you just say it.

AYD 13 | Creating Success
Creating Success: Your physical space and the things in it are a cluster of items or things that tell a story about who you are, where you've been, what you're about might show values, what you love.

This is not a mental process. You can explain to people how you learn that or how you know that. It isn’t knowing in the normal sense. Knowing is from the neocortex. Knowing is a mental function, which is fine. You can see that your mind is undefined. There’s stuff happening up there. There’s some stuff happening in your mind but that’s not where your power is. Your power is instinctive power. The 34-20 is part of this sleeping phoenix incarnation cross. All the people on this planet have the 34-20, there’s an element to your circuitry where you receive an impulse that you don’t understand until you speak it. Even then you may not understand it but it turns out to be useful, true or highly creative. Remember, 34 is creative power. It wants to create beauty, more symmetry, music in the world and harmony. It wants to make people happy and fill them with laughter.

Thirty-four is this power to come alive at the moment more fully. When you’re with people, your body knows instinctively what will help that person become more alive. The 34 knows that and the 20 can then translate it at the moment. You may find yourself saying things like, “This doesn’t make much sense. I’ve never suggested this to anyone before but I think you need to put X, Y, Z in the corner of that room.” That’s the gift. The 55, which is your core genius, is the abundance of spirit line five, which happens to be the voice according to Richard Rudd and his interpretations of human design. When we’re talking design Earth which he refers to as core genius, the various lines 1 through 6 activate different parts of the body. The gate is the theme.

55 is the abundance of spirit. In line five, it’s the voice. You activate people’s abundance, particularly the abundance of their spirit. Feeling abundant is much more than money. It’s speaking for me. Abundance is a feeling of relaxation, safety and security. Safety and security have never been super high needs of mine except emotionally. I know I’m feeling abundant when I feel emotionally secure in my relationships. That’s abundance for me. If I get that right, my nervous system stays very relaxed and then I’m able to do the other things. I’ve always been pretty good with money. I’ve always had money. I understand how to make money. I’ve known since I was ten years old, you work. You’ll hopefully work at something you’re good at. You will always have money. I’ve always had my own money since I was ten. That wasn’t the biggest issue.

My abundance was this abundance of emotional security. Using your voice has helped me to create that in my life and understand that’s where my abundance comes from. Your genius is helping people through the use of your voice to come to know what makes them feel abundant. Sometimes it’s money for some people. If they’ve had financial insecurity most of their life or they grew up in a poor neighborhood and then they suddenly have money, that feels so abundant. Fifty-nine also in line five this is what keeps you healthy. Let’s say it’s Gina Lollobrigida of the world, Sophia Loren, J.Lo. This gorgeous magnetic beauty that you have and men feel this from you. They feel you when you walk into the room. You can harness it because it’s line five. It’s leadership energy.

This isn’t a coaching session but if I were coaching you, I would encourage you because 55-59 is where it’s at in terms of what you do for people. You help them become abundant in whatever that definition is for them. You help them awaken their sexuality. More than just sex. It is sex plus intimacy. Line five is being a leader. The 34-20 channel is the charisma channel as well or the busyness channel. People are attracted to your busyness and your productivity. The 59-5 is being a leader in this intimacy movement. I would encourage you in your marketing to let people know that you help them activate abundance and intimacy in their lives. Let’s face it. That’s mostly what people want. The majority of humans, 70%, most of the generators and manifesting generators of the world, the two things they want are great work and great love. It’s very straightforward.

Well-meaning friends are usually in relationships. Not single people but people in relationships would always give me useless advice like, “Let it go and it will happen.” I’m like, “Nothing in my life works that way. Thanks so much.” When I let stuff go, nothing happens because of my human design. I have to be super proactive and mega intentional. I’m like, “I’m going to keep kissing frogs. I know there’s someone there for me. I’m not giving up.” Good relationship coaches, on the other hand, would say, “The people who have the most successful relationships approach it like anything else in life where you have success. They try and try again. They don’t quit and don’t settle.” That’s the advice that I took.

All my well-meaning friends are like, “Let it go. You’re too hung up about it.” I’m like, “You don’t understand who I am. That tells me you don’t even know what matters to me.” I feel like a limb is missing when I’m single. I can do it but it’s not correct for me to be single. It’s not correct in my design to be single and yet I’m great at it. I know how to do it. You’re the kind of person that affirms all that for people like the woman who found out, “I don’t want to be with men anymore. I’m going to call in a different kind of partner.” That’s huge. Do you see how you do this? Is this making sense what I’m saying? I’m so excited sharing this with you and the audience because it’s so profound what you do in your purpose.

Seeing it this way affirms that in a different way than the way I see it or have seen it.

I want to finish by talking about the 3/5 profile. The three is the martyr. The five is the heretic. In practical terms, I think of the 3/5 as the strategic leader. People come to you for strategy, exactly what you’ve done with me. Strategy is, “Here’s what we’re going to do and why we’re going to do it. Here’s how you do it. Here are the steps.” What it does then, your strategy activates leadership, power and others. Whatever is true in your design is what you do for the other. It’s what you bring to the other. How you motivate people is how you get motivated. When you’re in your correct energy in your profile, being this strategic leader, you help leaders be more strategic to get that incarnation cross of the sleeping phoenix. The sleeping phoenix wakes up. What you do is you will awaken the firebird. The phoenix is the firebird, others and yourself. The more it awakens in you, the more you awaken it and others.

It’s sleeping until you come along. These things are dormant. The woman had to rearrange a room to realize, “I need a different kind of partner.” I didn’t realize even that I had energy blocked. It was completely unknown to me until you pointed it out to me. “Your office is where your unpacked boxes are sitting. You might want to change that,” and it opens the wings. You might want to bring that firebird into your marketing. You’re so fiery. Let people know, “I activate the phoenix in you. I awaken the sleeping phoenix in you so you can fly.” What’s cool about the firebird is it flies and it burns up but then it rises again. Your life is a series of crash and burn, rise. It’s not even meant to be painful. It’s you disintegrate into ash and then you rise again. That’s what you do for people. You show people endings don’t have to be bad. They turned to ash and then you build something new.

AYD 13 | Creating Success
Creating Success: You use your intention and the physical items that represent what you want to bring in.

I’ve had houses burned down and things flood. People are like, “That’s so terrible.” I’m like, “It wasn’t. I’m not that attached to material things.” One of the houses that burned down was so ugly. I was planning to rebuild it and it burned to the ground. I was like, “Nature took care of it for us.” It was a wildfire. The house obliterated. That’s the phoenix experience. When something happens, people around you might be, “That’s awful.” You are like, “No. It’s fine.” That’s how you are. “It’s just ashes. Let’s see what wants to grow from the mulch.” You do that for people. You awaken the sleeping phoenix in people’s lives so that they can experience abundance and intimacy beyond their wildest dreams.

Thank you.

You’re welcome. Any final thoughts for our readers?

Right off the top of my head, I’ve taken in what you said. I love it. I love human design. I love your interpretation of it and how to implement it. It’s wonderful. It’s the same as what I was talking about with you within your space. It comes to intentions. We didn’t talk about Gate 18 but that’s a big part too about removing what’s spoiled, making sure that you don’t have things around you that are energetically not a fit. Thank you. I’m complete with everything. This was wonderful. I hope everybody enjoys it.

I’m sure they will. Share this show. If you like it, leave us a review. Thank you, Tandy, for your time. This was a delight.

Thank you so much for having me for the opportunity. It was wonderful.

You’re so welcome. Bye.

Solving Your Visibility Issues (Especially For Projectors!) With Generator Siddiqi Ray

This is the show where I interview people who I feel are living their design with gusto and I hope it is an opportunity for you to commit to your purpose more fully and if you are committed to your purpose, to take it to that next level of expression and fulfillment. Our guest specializes in helping women entrepreneurs get visible. Visibility is necessary if you want to make any money and be successful. It is through our throat that we manifest. Therefore, every human being must find the appropriate platform to communicate. For some of you will be communicating worldwide and for others of you, you’re communicating to an intimate niche. You might find your platform on Clubhouse or Twitter.

When things start to open up again, moving about whatever country you live in or moving about the world and speaking. Whatever it is you do, communication is required and this requires you to be seen and heard by others. Our wonderful guest, Siddiqi Ray is going to discuss with us this most important issue which she and I have found comes up again and again for our clients. Siddiqi Ray is a groundbreaking visibility mentor who’s developed her career as a professional photographer and master mentor to women.

She has created a program to support these changemaker women and business owners to master their visibility which enables their success and increases their results in the world. Siddiqi is the Founder and Creator of the groundbreaking Soul Portrait Process. For many years, she has worked with world-leading organizations and leaders including The Mayo Clinic, Target, the Associated Press, the Navy SEALs, The Dalai Lama, who she has photographed at least twelve times, Nelson Mandela, Deepak Chopra and the Kennedys to support the visibility and work in the world.

Siddiqi is also awarded the Icon Award by the International Women’s Economic Forum for her work with women and community leaders. Please, let’s give a warm welcome to our amazing guest, Siddiqi Ray. We’re going to talk about visibility issues with a special emphasis on projectors in human design because they have special visibility issues not seen in the other types. With that, I’m going to bring her on. Siddiqi, welcome to our show.

Thank you for being here, Baeth. It’s such an honor. You’re such an expert in human design and hand analysis. It’s amazing how profoundly your work has impacted the trajectory of my life and my career. I’m so honored to be here with you.

I’m so glad to have you. The other thing I didn’t mention is we’re besties. We’ve been best friends for years. Our association has been such a beautiful exchange of energy. You helped me rehabilitate my body after a bunch of surgeries from cancer. You also helped me rehabilitate my self-image because, after all the surgeries, I was not feeling attractive. I was feeling almost defeminized because I felt I had been mangled. I had been disfigured.

It sounds like you’ve been attacked by a lion.

That’s what it felt like. It looked like a lion had been chomping on my chest. You came to the rescue. I had the good fortune of working with you around your business and your design. Let’s dive into visibility. As we do on every show, towards the end of our interview, I have asked you a question about your human design, I will share that question that you have and we’ll look at your chart for the audience. Let’s start with what you mean by visibility. What does that mean to Siddiqi Ray?

AYD 12 | Visibility Issues
Visibility Issues: Something has to change about how women see themselves. How they are willing to show themselves to the world so that they can be of service.

To me, as a 6/2, it’s a process of living my life as a three for the first part of my life, being in hiding, a lot of trial and errors, failures, dramas, trauma and then going up on the roof. You met me right at the end, right before I went on the roof, then I was on the roof and it was observing women, our issues around our body image, our self-esteem and our inner critic. Having photographed thousands of women throughout my professional career as a photographer, I was able to sit on the roof and observe how many gorgeous, talented, educated, brilliant women are not getting their message out in the world. They’re not feeling significant enough to show themselves to be of service, so they’re not making an impact. From that perspective of the roof, I was like, “Something has to change about how we see ourselves and how we are willing to show ourselves to the world, stand up and speak up so we can be of service.” That’s how I see visibility. It’s an inside job and ultimately, we turn ourselves out into the world to be of service.

Before we talk about projectors, what are the major visibility issues that you see for women entrepreneurs?

The number one visibility issue is technology overwhelm. Not being able to go live, not knowing how to go live, not knowing what they’re going to say, not knowing if anybody’s going to show up and care. That’s number one. The second one is the raging inner critic that editorializes oneself and gets us into perfectionism, procrastination and paralyzes us. Also, the vanity dilemma. Most of the women I work with are 40 plus. We’re getting older and now we see ourselves in this virtual world more than we ever have. We have this whole conversation in our head about, “How do I look younger? How do I look thinner?” The reality is nobody’s waiting for us to look younger and thinner. We need to get ourselves out there. Those are the three main issues. Technology, the inner critic, and vanity.

Projectors in human design are 21% of the population and they are special in that their aura penetrates the other. They have this penetrating understanding of other people. What I see is they’re often working as solopreneurs, which is not correct for their design. They’re meant to be the advisors and guides to humanity and guide organizations to greater productivity and better results. I imagine that you must encounter serious visibility issues with the projectors that come into your world.

I would say great grave visibility issues. They’re working so hard against themselves.

Will you say more about what the projectors are wanting and what’s getting in their way with regards to visibility?

There are three different kinds of visibility that I see and I’m talking about videos online in it. We either educate, entertain, or inspire. It always falls into those. Projectors want to inspire and entertain but sometimes, truth be told, they’re not entertaining. They tend to be serious introspective people. This is what I see. They’re attracted and magnetized to the generators like you and me that we are out there. We are glamorous and outspoken.

They want to be that but they’re somehow, they’re working against themselves, their own energy flow and their design because they’re not meant to be out front, shiny, glamorous and articulate, so they keep saying to themselves, “What’s wrong with me that I can’t get myself out there and do my business?” That’s the other thing. When I have projectors that come into my visibility Facebook challenges, they’re so good at seeing, supporting, and responding to everybody else like they’re the most amazing community builders. When they’re in that role, they excel but when you try to break down business, business structure, what they’re going to sell and clarity around that falls apart.

Visibility is an inside job. It happens when you turn yourself out into the world to be of service.

That’s my experience as well when coaching projectors. They’re often comparing themselves to another type, which isn’t helpful.

Compare and despair to the generators that are out there doing it. They’re like, “I want to be like that.” There’s something deeper to discuss because maybe that’s not their path.

They need to lead organizations and that’s when they get that success which for them is being acknowledged and not getting accolades for their guidance. What happens is they either push for it and get rejected or they pull back, do nothing and then they get bitter. Bitterness becomes this overlay that disguises the humor, wisdom and genius that projectors have. They’re dealing with that bitterness issue. Have you seen that in working with them?

I have and it’s such a great example. I have a client and she has been with me for a couple of years. I’ve met her through you. She is a projector and I tried to get on the path of least resistance which is this visibility formula and it wasn’t taking. I was like, “I’m giving myself an epic fail with her.” Finally, I was like, “What matters to you?” We dug deeper and deeper. It turns out that she was bitter and angry. She loves rock and roll. I’m like, “That’s what you make a video about. Express your anger.”

She started this series of videos on how to express your anger. The first one was her dancing to this loud rock and roll music. The next one was her singing Lzzy Hale and talking about how angry she was at her ex-husband. It unlocked her genius because it was like, “You do you, boo.” She came up with this thing that I would have never even known within her. It was expressing the bitterness and making sense of it.

I know who you’re talking about because in training we had in 2016 or 2017, she was in class and the theme came up with the group how out of touch people were with their anger. I, apropos of nothing, took my arm and cleared everything off the table in front of me onto the floor. Glasses smashed, water flying, papers in the air. I was like, “That feels so much better, doesn’t it? Can we move on, please, from this nitpicking bitterness?” The reaction in the room. Some people were like, “Hallelujah,” and other people were completely freaked. This is how I know where she’s getting the support. She said to me, “I’ve had a breakthrough with that anger. Do you remember in class when you broke the glass and everyone freaked out?” I said, “How can I forget?” She said, “I realized then that I was out of touch with my anger. I had to find a way to get to it and I have.” Good on you.

It’s brilliant when the projectors can let go of the compare and despair and thinking they need to be something other than they are. The thing about generators is we can consistently be visible. We can set a date in the calendar and say, “Every Tuesday and Thursday, I’m going to go live. I’m doing this and I’m doing.” Projectors don’t know where their energy is going to come from and what’s going to inspire them. They’re like sea anemone when you get close to them.

When they unleash and recognize the source of their anger, bitterness and they can turn towards that shadow side of themselves because a lot of the work I do is around the shadow archetypes and owning the voice of the shadow. When they can listen to that voice, it’s trying to get them to say, “You’re not meant to be out there every day. You can’t push yourself. You have to wait for that inspiration. Don’t promise anybody that you’re going to be there every Thursday doing a live. You can’t.”

AYD 12 | Visibility Issues
Visibility Issues: The three main visibility issues for entrepreneurial women are technology, inner critic, and vanity.

When they finally turn inward and look at the gold that’s there, a lot of them are alchemists. They’re in this experimental process of owning their magic and they’ve been trying to do it the way everybody else does it. It’s this divine experiment that they’re meant to have with their visibility, and it’s creative. We have another one that came into a visibility challenge. She’s in your world and she just graduated. She started dancing. She wrote to me and she’s like, “I want to dance.” and I’m like, “Just dance.” She turns on the video camera and twirls. It was so inspiring to everybody to be in their bodies and to be inhabited.

Projectors need to feel their way into their path with visibility, business, expression and allow themselves to be seen and to be celebrated, which is what I try to do with projectors. They’re like, “I feel so seen, hurt and nurtured.” It makes me want to cry how shut down these protectors have been. They make themselves bad, wrong and it’s this monumental hurdle to get them to be themselves. That’s the gift of their visibility. They might be 21% of the population, but they’re almost 100% of my business.

What would you say about using ones designed to get more visible? We know that for projectors, they’re getting visible. Every project I’ve worked with has had to find their way into a unique creative process. It doesn’t follow a formula, whereas we generators can watch what someone else is doing, check in with our authority and go, “That’ll work for me.” If it does work, we try it and it works. We can get a lot out of being in response to what other people are doing but projectors have to be invited or they get the invitations when they’re in the frequency of their creativity. I often say to the projector clients that I have, “Be happily creative while you’re waiting for invitations, not bitterly creative. There has to be no expectation.” Trying to get a projector to let go of their expectations is like trying to get a fresh bone away from a dog. What would you say about using design, in general, to get more visible? That’s going to then lead right into your chart.

Before I started to put together my visibility work and the visibility archetypes with human design, I was doing what everybody else is doing, which is trying to get as many people through and mentor them. I realized that inadvertently I had created a one-size-fits-all cookie-cutter approach and that didn’t work. I was like, “I’m going to have to take a step back and realize that these projectors, the generators and the manifesting generators all need something different and they all need to create their own blueprint, own foundation and architecture for how they’re meant to be visible.”

When we create that with them, for them and we keep inviting them, and I’m not talking about projectors, I’m talking about anyone, to go deeper and deeper into they’re craving to be significant and to make a contribution, they’re craving and their deepest, heartfelt desire is to make an impact. We give them more permission to experiment and play. It’s this big visibility playground. It’s like, “Did this work? Try this.” I found that they get there. We all get there eventually but we have to do it backward. Everybody else is like, “Here’s the program. Here’s the offering. Go out in the world and sell yourselves.” For most of us, women entrepreneurs, it doesn’t work to sell ourselves. It’s too much pressure. We’re putting so much energy, emphasis, money and time into trying to figure out the way to do it. There is no one right way. You have to be willing to experiment and play around with it.

To your point, there’s an incredible book that I’m reading called Sick in the Head by Judd Apatow. He is a famous filmmaker. He was a stand-up comedian and it is a series of interviews with other famous comedians. He started doing these interviews at 50. What struck me about this book and why it’s a recommended read to any person who wants to be more successful, my big takeaway is every single person’s creative process is different. That is the one takeaway from that. There’s no one size fits all. What Jerry Seinfeld does is so different from what Chris Rock does which is so different from what Jimmy Fallon does or Sarah Silverman. Much of it hinges on their childhood, their type and the way their energy moves.

What’s cracked me up reading this book is, these masterful creators are learning from one another. They’re burnishing and polishing one another’s work. They’re giving some edits, feedback and, “What if we tried this and that?” Ultimately, the individual has to figure out, “Am I a morning person or am I a night person? Do I like to write alone or in partnership? Do I like this or do I like that?” Every single person has this different way into their creativity. I feel like that’s what you’re saying. Each person you work with needs your support and permission to find their unique creative process and to stop being in compare and despair.

What gets lost in the translation of, “I want to have a business. I need to market myself, so I can get clients and money.” When I break it down with most of these women, yes, they want money and clients but what they want more than anything is to be of service and to make an impact in the world. Even if it’s to 5, 10, 15, 20, 10,000 or 1 million, they want to show up and shine their light in the world. They lose that in other people’s vision of fame, fortune and what’s possible. They lose the simplicity of how amazing and miraculous it can be when you allow your voice and presence to attract and magnetize people to you. You don’t have to push to be visible.

Be in touch with your anger and bitterness because something genius can come from that.

I’m not talking about becoming an influencer here or winning a popularity contest. Go somewhere else and learn the five things you need to do to shine on video if that’s what you want to do. What I’m talking about is deeply accepting your mission and saying yes to your purpose, using the path and the journey of our lives to inform how, when and where we need to show up so the people that were meant to serve can find us. That’s what visibility is. We have to first find ourselves and we need to allow ourselves to be seen and be heard so we can make that impact. At the end of the day, do we want money? Absolutely. Do we need clients? Absolutely but the thing that we want is to help the people that are still stuck by the ten steps back on that journey that we have been walking. That’s what we want.

You have a Facebook group, yes?

Yes.

Will you tell people what happens in your Facebook group and why they should come over there?

I have this free Archetype Quiz and it helps you see what your superpower is with your visibility and what your shadow side is. The women in that group, Women in Biz: GETTING VISIBLE TOGETHER are practicing getting visible. The projectors dancing or the other projector is expressing her anger. There’s one generator that is in fashion, she dresses up as her character and she speaks as her characters. It’s a safe space to practice and to practice inspiring, educating and informing. They take the Archetype Quiz. We come in and I do many series on their archetypes, what it means to them and I channel for them. It’s a playground for visibility.

All of you in our audience, you can please take the quiz. I’ve taken it and it’s spot on. It’s accurate and I love quizzes. Who doesn’t love a quiz to find out more? Let’s talk about your design. I ask the guests before the show, what is one question you would like to explore with your design so we can focus our discussion? Your question was so apropos and wonderful. How are you, Siddiqi, meant to be visible? Let’s have a look at that, shall we?

Yes.

December 3rd, 1967, at 9:03 AM. Let’s talk about visibility because you have an interesting design when it comes to visibility. Part of how we communicate how we manifest is through the throat. You can see and you have one gate off the throat and that gate is looking for someone with the 48 to connect into so that you have the whole channel. This presents you with some wonderful gifts and some incredible challenges. Because your throat chakra is undefined, you’re not sure what to talk about most of the time. How would you know? What is my message? What am I supposed to say? That’s not a good question for you to ask ever because it’ll lead you down a depressing rabbit hole that leads to melancholy and possibly depression.

AYD 12 | Visibility Issues
Visibility Issues: Projectors need to feel their way into their own path, with visibility, business, and expression. They need to allow themselves to be seen and to be celebrated.

What that undefined throat is good for is helping determine the voices of others. People that have an open or undefined throat or genius at finding the voice in another. One thing for you that’s so important in your work is that you have a partner when you’re doing videos, things, when you’re visible. This is good because you have someone to play off of and someone to draw you out and streamline what you want to say. I would recommend to you when you’re in your Facebook Group and doing your work, bring on someone into the hot seat, even bring on someone that’s your occasional sidekick.

You could have an arsenal of sidekicks. You could have 3, 4, 5 people who are specialists that you enjoy that you bring on and your audience knows, “It’s a show with Siddiqi and so and so.” You could rotate that with the hot seats. What this does for you is it activates this capacity in you because whatever’s going on in their throat, you click into it easily and you’re able to help them find their voice in real-time, which makes every conversation you have a demo of your genius. The one channel you have, Gate 16 is enthusiasm.

It’s a skill, talent and a voice that knows the score and can quickly lay down the truth of what is going on. That is the essence of your communication. It’s, “What’s the truth in this moment?” When you bring on some additional person in a partnership or dynamic, you excel. That’s why you had to customize your work. I will look at charts where I have said to people, “You need a group program with thousands of people in it. That would be great for your personality.” The nature of who you are is so detailed, precise and highly meticulous that you’re well served having a boutique-type business where you’re opening package prices $5,000 to $7,000 and go up from there. You might want to include, and I know you’ve done this in the past, for your high-level clients, have a retreat built-in or two.

We have one.

Where the clients themselves can meet other like-minded people that have gone through this process with you because then they have a shared language, that’s the first thing with the throat. I want to talk about managing your energy because although you’re a generator and you have 3 out of the 4 motors, you are prone to burnout in a particular way, which you know because you’re not meant to be sick, injured or burnt out but you’ve certainly had your matches in the ring with the bull. You’ve been the matador who survived many bullfights. Part of this is because, yes, you have the undefined throat, so the not-self says, “What am I supposed to say?” You have an undefined G-Center, which is always looking for direction, “Where should I go? What should I be doing? Who loves me?” They’re also not good questions.

What the undefined G-Center does is it lets you feel other people. It’s great for actors because they can channel someone. You can channel your energy. You have an undefined will, so you can’t make promises. You can’t stick to a rigid schedule. It’s not your way. It’s too formulaic and you fall apart because anyone with an undefined will is much more of a go-with-the-flow person than the people with the defined will. I have a defined will so I can put stuff in my calendar years in advance and know that I’m committed to it, “That’s going to happen. I’m going to do that.”

For you, it’s too confining. All this openness, if it’s not handled properly, will take you down energetically. In a sense, what gets in the way of Siddiqi’s visibility isn’t so much that you’re afraid of being visible. It isn’t about that for you. It isn’t about how you look or sound, although you may have had issues with that. Those are more like smokescreen issues where there’s a judgment. There could be a judgment or maybe there was in the past. It’s similar to what your clients have dealt with.

“Why can’t I keep up? Why don’t I know what I’m supposed to say? Why don’t I know my direction? Why can’t I make these commitments?” Instead of, “I don’t work that way.” Siddiqi isn’t wired to do that. You can talk about what you can do well but you are not designed to make promises and then the other thing is you have an undefined spleen. You’ll get sick if you’re not careful and don’t listen to those impulses. This is all much impacted by this 3/60 channel, which is called the Mutation Channel.

Every single person's creative process is different.

Anyone that has the 3/60 is prone to melancholy. We would now call it clinical depression but your biggest challenge is when the melancholy comes to not give it meaning because all it means is you’re waiting. Your body gets sad waiting for something to happen because you can’t force the mutation. It’s brought to you through the Earth. It’s a matter of proper timing. Everything in your life has to be when you feel like it, if you feel like it and it’s got to feel satisfying to you, furthermore.

The way you’re designed completely goes against modern society. In your variable, you’ve got one left arrow in your environment sector. What this then means is that you’re active in your environment. You’re physically active, like to keep busy and always get a lot of things going on. That’s correct for you because you can sort your thoughts by washing the dishes or going on a trail run. The activity helps your mind sift through things. The rest of the arrows in that variable are right, which means you have a diffuse non-focus way of encountering the world where your eyeballs and your senses take in everything. You see all and it’s a passive process. It’s not an active thing. It comes in and you know things. While you’re waiting for the mutation, similar to these lovely projectors, the best thing for you is to focus on projects you’ve already started and finish them.

There’s this wonderful 59/6 channel which is the sexuality channel. It is about birthing things. It’s not birthing children, which if you wanted to you could have had a lot of children at one point in your life, but you decided not to. I’m going to talk about what we’re dealing with here. We’ve got 59/6 over here in black, in Jupiter. Over here in your design Venus, we have 59/2 and 59 is the sex gate. It’s the sexual fire.

I should tell that to my husband, “It’s in my design. Let’s go.”

The 59/6 energy is called the one-night stand, which means you can have intimacy with someone and never see them again. It isn’t necessarily being promiscuous. If love is there for however long, you’re able to be in it no matter the conditions which is a special thing. You can overcome great difficulties for love is what it’s about. There’s this tenacity with love. If you love somebody, it’s like how that song goes, “There’s no mountain high enough.” You’re going to go over the mountain for this person.

That’s what people feel in you and it’s in Jupiter, which means that in your work what makes you prosperous is celebrating people’s sensuality and their naturalness because line 6 is being natural. It is being one’s true authentic self and Gate 59 as in one’s sexuality. You have this capacity to activate that physical awareness in a person or what we might call embodiment. We’ve got a lot of focus on embodiment. There’s an embodiment piece. Your designed Venus, which is your heart is 59/2. I also have 59/2 in my chart and 59/2 is shyness. Although people would not describe us as shy, when it comes to love, we have to know that person thinks we paint the moon in the stars in the sky, that our beloved thinks we’re the best and they have to draw us out because if we don’t feel we’re number one, the favorite special, we’re like, “Get away from me.”

We have no time for it. It’s like, “You treat me like a queen or go away.” People will have probably accused you as they’ve accused me of saying, “You’re unavailable, unaccessible, too guarded and too masculine.” I’m like, “No. I don’t trust you and I don’t trust most people because they’re not worthy of my trust. If you show yourself, maybe the shields will come down, maybe not.” It’s totally appropriate for you. As it relates to work, you’re going to draw in people who are also guarded and they need to be.

Their guardedness isn’t a problem. That’s part of what you’re teaching them. The bottom line this, you’re meant to be visible if one, when you feel like it. When the mutation comes, it says, “Go do a video. Make a movie. Take some new headshots of yourself or however you want to be visible.” It’s got to come from a deep impulse down here in the 60. The 60 is a limitation. I want you to start paying attention to where you feel limited in your life. Not in the past but now. If anywhere, you might not feel that limited in many places but there might be a few key areas where you’re like, “Am I satisfied as a generator with this situation or not?”

AYD 12 | Visibility Issues
Visibility Issues: Women should want to show up and shine their light in the world. They don't have to push to be visible.

Necessity is the mother of invention. The limitation is in our DNA to help us strip away everything that isn’t essential. Some people have increased a lot in their design. They’re trying to deal with almost too much. They have too much to deal with and they’re learning how to handle all this stuff but the limitation is asking you to be inventive, so any place you ever feel limited is where the next breakthrough comes from for you. Number one, you’ve got to feel like it.

Two, you have to pay attention to where you feel limited. When you embrace that everybody’s limited or that we all have limits, the mind and consciousness are unlimited but our physical body has limits. There are limits to our energy and how much generosity we have. There are limits on things. There needs to be limits. There are speed limits when we drive. There’s a reason for limits. They’re there to protect us and to make sure that we don’t burn through our resources. You’re learning how to embrace your limitations and help your clients to recognize theirs. Love those limitations. Judging one’s age, how awful is that? There’s nothing you can do about your age. You’re alive, be grateful. You could be dead.

Also, the body image.

The body changes.

We’re even having a hard time embracing that.

People need to embrace that. The fact is, they can do something about it too if they want to. They’re not that limited. People are like, “I feel fat.” I’m like, “Lose the weight. What’s the big deal? If you don’t like something about yourself and you have the capacity to change it then change it.” It’s that simple. Also getting to a place where you decide, “I like my body the way it is. I know, society says I should look this way or be this way but I feel good this way.” That’s the ultimate breakthrough. If the person is finding that they want to be thinner, great. If they want to accept their body as it is, great but you help them figure out and truly that those limits are boundaries. That those limits are there to keep them safe and to make sure they don’t overextend themselves. Number one, you need to be in the mood to put yourself out there. Number two, you need to embrace your limitations. Three, you’re helping a client see that their limits are boundaries.

It is so interesting that you say that it makes so much sense to me. I have this retreat called Safe to be Seen. One of the major unknown problems of the women that I work with is, it doesn’t occur to them to set boundaries online in their social media presence with their visibility. Until they define the parameters and the conditions under which they are willing to be visible like, “Let’s go through your Facebook feed. Let’s filter out and block the people that you’re not meant to speak to, the people that do judge you and shut you down.” It’s all about creating safety and boundaries with our own visibility, which is something that quite frankly doesn’t occur to anybody and I haven’t heard anybody talking about. It’s so paramount to my work. My husband’s like, “Sid, you should teach about intuition and boundaries. You’re the Queen of boundaries.”

You have wonderful boundaries. I’ve learned so much from you about boundaries. You’ve taught me how to fight clean if I’m upset about something, how to express myself in all situations, how to take time for myself to get clear on what I’m wanting out of an interaction. In your incarnation cross, your 6/2 profile, which comes from the lines after the Sun and Earth positions. The 6/2 is what I call the Spiritual Teacher comes down off the roof and teaches people the two energies, which is about marketing, being mesmerizing and visible. It’s about getting called out from your hermit cave and sharing the creativity you’ve been working on in private. It’s the same for you. You have to be called out. You’re not designed to be visible all the time. It’s not your way.

Everyone has limits. They exist to protect you so that you don't burn through your resources.

For the gates, people are coming to you for these nine energies down here. This is what people feel in you. That nine energy is about focus, the ability to complete things and see the necessary details. You’re going to have a keen eye and a physical sense of what works and what doesn’t. Sixteen is your voice. That’s what grounds you. It’s your enthusiasm and your vocal skill, the detail in your communication. On your design side, we have Gate 64 and Gate 63. We’re dealing with before and after completion with these two gates. You’re dealing a lot with doubt and confusion. You’re helping other people work through their doubt and confusion. The lesson in doubt and confusion is don’t second guess yourself.

If you feel like you’ve made the correct decision, let it be and move on. That’s the learning in that. These gates are also off the crown, so they have a profound access to the environment around you to what we could call cosmic or infinite intelligence. Any of the energy of the gates on the head is drawing inspiration from the cosmos. You bring in all this spiritual wisdom, you ground it down to the essential details and then you verbally are able to share with enthusiasm something that otherwise is abstract to people.

It’s interesting that you say this. I call it practical intuition. The Competently Visible Facebook Challenge is five days long and all these are addressing the technology, inner critic, vanity and the dilemma. On the last day, the hot seat is me channeling for the women that have won the prizes throughout the week. I’m bringing in that divine inspiration and answering their visibility questions from that intuitive place. I got this five-page email from this woman that was on the hot seat. She was like, “I could not believe that you saw this part of me that is so hidden, has been so lost but it’s so essential to my expression into my well-being.”

She said that she fell off the chair during the challenge and her friends were on the call and they were like, “How could she know that?” That’s one of my gifts. I enthusiastically see for people what’s possible. I practically can see the path for them to get to their soul’s expression of who they are with their visibility. It’s exciting but also when they’re not in their not self, I feel it like nails on a chalkboard. I can hear the broken record and what they’re saying. I don’t have a lot of patience for it. I’m like, “There’s no energy in what you’re saying.”

I can help people rapidly move through these things because of my ability to see. It’s interesting to me because I found a way around the, “What do I say?” When people come into the Facebook Group, they’re asked a series of questions. I have this insane spreadsheet of 350 people answering these questions and then telling me exactly where and what they need. I go to the spreadsheet before I do a Facebook Live and I’m like, “What did they say that they needed about technology?” They said that they have a hard time going live. They feel paralyzed when they go to press the go button. I speak directly to that. I’m gathering the evidence of what they need and then I’m speaking to that, which is so much easier than, “Let me try to figure out what I need to say.”

You’re so inspiring and you’ve given me so much permission. I have a video where I’m hiding under the covers. It’s quite depressing. It’s fantastic because it’s me years ago, hiding under the covers and being like, “Who’s going to even want to listen to me and my journey?” When I first put out my videos, I had three followers and then it’s showing the magnitude of the number of videos that I put out there and then the responses that I eventually got. My mission is to help 10,000 women get visible online so they can make an impact and share their gifts with the world. This video separates the wheat from the chaff.

People either look at it and they’re like, “That’s so excruciatingly visible. I’m going away from this person’s world,” or women email me all the time, “I’m in tears. You touched me.” You gave me permission to do that. The times that I was out in the desert in Joshua Tree hiding out on the roof, you’re going to come down and all you need to do is share your journey and inspire people with your journey. That’s all you have to do. It gave me such permission to let go of figuring out the perfect program, “How I’m going to sell it, and how I’m going to market it?” I’m like, “Here I am. This is what’s possible. If you need some of this, come join me and I’ll help you figure out what you need.”

You gave me that because those times when I was up on the roof, it was excruciating waiting for that call on that inspiration. Part of me was like, “I’ve got to get it together already.” You’re like, “Believe me. You’re going to come off the roof, write that book, you’re going to show up and it’s going to be totally different.” You gave me permission to stay there for the long time I was there because I trusted your insight and wisdom. Honestly, I would not be where I am in my life and in my business without your mentorship. You are amazing.

Wayfinding The Cosmos With Manifesting Generator Margi Haas

Why Wait Another Lifetime?

Our guest is a fascinating woman. She has a 6/2 profile. She helps people wayfind the cosmos, which in of itself is fascinating. If you're new to our show, I interview a guest about their work, and then we look at their Human Design chart. Our guest today has graciously volunteered her time in her human design chart so that we can explore her design with all of you. Our guest is Margi Haas. She's a long-time entrepreneur, shamanic energy healer, psychotherapist, coach, explorer, and teacher of many cultures and spiritual traditions on and off the planet.

Maybe we're not supposed to really know how to connect because it's hard enough to just get through the day sometimes.

Margi ran her own successful recruiting business between New York and Japan for many years, finding Japanese bilingual, senior executives for Western companies, and yes, she can speak Japanese. Margi's work now is taking people on soul journeys of self-discovery to clear up stuck places and find deeper meaning and magic in their lives. You can find her in her private Facebook group and website, Wayfinding the Cosmos. With that, let's bring our wonderful, fabulous guests, Mari Haas, to the show. Welcome to the show, Margi.

Baeth, it’s always good to talk to you.

I'm so happy to be with you. You've been described as a very cosmic person. Your Facebook group is Wayfinding the Cosmos. What does Wayfinding the Cosmos mean to you?

Wayfinding is a more traditional way of navigating, in other words, not necessarily using GPS or any of that stuff. It means navigating our full being or eternal selves. That includes who we are talking about right now and what we are internally. To me, that's the way we are. Cosmic is looking at the bigger questions. Who am I? Who have I been? Where have I been? Where did I come from? Where am I going? What's the point of any of this? Is there a point in any of this? Including our internal being, not this lifetime.

AYD 11 | Wayfinding The Cosmos
Wayfinding The Cosmos: All of us are essentially perfect beings and there's a lot of gunk sometimes, or a lot of clouds out. So let's get rid of the clouds and get to who this person really is, who you really are.

What is an eternal being to you as you understand it? How would you describe an eternal being?

When we're not incarnate in these bodies, we're consciousness. Consciousness as I understand it for my high teachers isn't so easy to explain because we are all consciousness. When I say we all, it's plants and animals. Even planets are living beings. Consciousness is the base. It never was born, it never dies. It is consciousness itself. In a way, it's ineffable. It's unexplainable because we're in it, we are of it. There's a never-ending sense of consciousness and that's what I'm trying to say. I remember when I was studying Tibet and Buddhism, I used to think, “There's a beginning to an end to everything.” No, there isn't. Consciousness is a continuum without beginning and without end. It took me a while to get that. In that sense, we're eternal and so are plants, the DNA. This is ineffable. It's pretty hard to explain, but it's fascinating. We keep learning more and there's more to learn. I'm not talking about scientists, but there's a learning edge to the universe, especially to us with humans or maybe ET’s that we don't even know about, all of that. That's the cosmos.

What was your earliest memory or encounter or awareness of this consciousness about the cosmos?

I was pretty linear and my dad has PhD in Biophysics and Biochemistry at MIT. He was this super brain. I was raised to try to prove to him that I was linear, smart, or whatever. I took the S training and my friends thought I was loopy. I wasn't sure whether I was getting loopy or whether the program is loopy. I went to do something with Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, who's this amazing healer out there, a person who has was passed away. She talked a lot about supporting people when they were dying, especially men with AIDS. That was when it was.

I was in my mid-thirties and went to this wackadoodle weekend and somebody started talking about reincarnation. I had this profound sense sitting in my chair. “How did I forget that?” We're all reincarnated and that life goes on for all of us. When we die, if we're smart enough, we don't even lose consciousness. It's like, “Where did my body go?” I don't mean to make light of the soul journey of death. Where did the third-dimensional body go? Although in our mind and our emotions, they're not in the third dimension either. DNA is not entirely in this dimension. I think that's how people have memories of other times and maybe other ways of being.

What do you think of the concept that time, in a way, doesn't exist and everything's happening all at once simultaneously?

When I think about it, I think I can accept it because I can vaguely understand enough quantum physics to get that. When I talk to people or when I'm doing past life work with them, it's all happening like I pictured it. It’s like a layer of cake and everything's happening at the same time. It's hard to get emotionally. Maybe we're not supposed to know how to connect that because it's hard enough getting through the day sometimes. To think about, “Do you mean I'm back there as an American Indian still in the Plains of the West and White men hasn't come yet?” If that's the case, then all of our layer cake lifetimes we're growing in all of them at once or were seeding. We're not growing. It's hard to get. I've got new physics books, but sometimes I'm like, “Thank you. I've had enough right now.”

Karma is us not being the best that we can be before we die.

Your clients come to you for many different kinds of issues. They might be unhappy about something or they're struggling. They want to explore their past lives, they have trauma they want to release or maybe they want inspiration or create deeper meaning in their lives. There are lots of different reasons why people would work with you. How does this bigger cosmic perspective we're talking about inform the work that you do with these clients?

It's hard to articulate, but when I'm talking to someone even in a bar or I'm usually drinking ice tea. When I'm talking to clients or would-be clients, I have this hunger to find out who they are. That's why I started my executive recruiting business. I'm intrinsically nosy, but it's more like, I want to know who you are, Baeth. What makes you tick and where is it? Maybe it comes to mind, my mother's Christian Science background in which I was partially raised, where I feel like all of us are essentially perfect beings and there's a lot of gunk sometimes or a lot of clouds out. Let's get rid of the clouds and get to who this person is, who you are and how can I reach in and support you to find your growing edge, to wayfind you into all your essence, your perfection as a human and as a soul.

I get excited and sometimes I think it's a little harder to tell people what I do than to do it, but it's so exciting to talk to people. I saw a picture and it’s almost like I'm a dolphin and there's a sonar device and I'm going in. It's that shamanic following the energy wherever it goes. I don't even like to say I'm a psychotherapist or a shaman as much as tracking the energy of the particular person I'm talking to. For me, it's an endless adventure and I love it when people can break through.

Can you give us an example of someone you worked with on their past lives, what came up and what happened for them?

I offered a session to a famous Broadway publicist. It actually wasn't for him, it was for a benefit and I offered a free past life reading. He was frantic to get the session and the person who won it was like, “I don't want to do that.” He bartered two top tickets to the Broadway show of their choice, so he could work with me. He came in, and frankly, he wasn't too articulate about his emotions. Normally, I try to lead people in with their emotions, but he was so excited and so sure he should do this. He said his dad was scolding him. He was in Scarsdale, which is suburban New York City, as you probably know. Hid dad was like, “Don't talk to me about Honolulu, we're in the backyard in Scarsdale. What is this?”

It turns out that he had been a whack of army women. After Pearl Harbor, he went there, as a very attractive blonde young woman taking care of the men that came back from the Pacific Theater and helped them. He was so fascinated and he loved his work in Honolulu. He got on a plane because the war was over and he had to go back to wherever. He got on the plane and he had a feeling he shouldn't leave and he shouldn't get on the plane and the plane blew up. That was the end of that lifetime.

I have to say for him, I thought, “Let's process getting on this plane and this horrendous, what seemed to me, not a great way to go.” He knew he might die that way before he got on the plane, but no, it wasn't about that for him. He was thrilled to find out, why Honolulu? Why he had this strong image of himself as this lovely young woman? He's a gay man and there's nothing at all wrong with that, but I think he was a little gender-confused. It’s like, “This helps me so much to know who I was before.”

It's like a missing puzzle piece in self-understanding. To me, that's the beauty of past lives. It isn't even so much to recreate them or revisit them, although that's lovely if that happens, rather that they can give a deeper meaning and more clarity to this lifetime, to what we're here to do this lifetime and what's led us to this lifetime.

AYD 11 | Wayfinding The Cosmos
Wayfinding The Cosmos: We need to focus on our perfection because we are eternal. We have endless possibility for growth and learning.

I had another client. He came in and he was twitching and jumping on the sofa. It's a long story but it turned out that he was Chinese and was forced to help the marauding Japanese army during World War II. He hated it, so he slipped in and blew up the ammo depot of the Japanese, and he had no memory of this. That's why the jumping because he blew himself up in the process. What was fascinating to me, was this is horrendous and confronting death and all of that, but what made him sob on the sofa was, I said to him, “Charles, you need to be acknowledged that you did this.”

It was very clear he hated the Japanese and being forced to do this. He said, “Yes,” and he started to sob. I said, “I'm acknowledging you for the dignity you had to take back your sense of honor and purpose.” That's what the whole session was. Nobody ever knew he did it. He had physical memories of certain things, which he immediately cleared. They went away forever. He stopped doing that. It never happened again. Just feeling so thrilled, “Yes, I did that and I'm proud of myself that I recovered my dignity.” Frankly, my mind's going, “Really?” It doesn't matter what I think. It was crucial for him.

You like to say, “Why wait another lifetime?” Will you share about where that came from and what that means to you?

I do a lot of therapy and counseling. If people are open, I weave in past life work whenever it feels like it's important. Anyway, I was working with this client for a long time, a very young woman. She was really boring, very smart, and stuck in her head. She kept coming in having the same recurring job problems and boyfriend problems. To be frank, maybe it's almost out of a sense of personal desperation on my part. “Do you want to keep doing this?” Do you want to have another lifetime where the boyfriends are always like, “Oh no,” and the jobs are like, “Oh my gosh?” When I said it, she snapped. She started working on shifting who she was. We started getting onto a much more profound level of all of that, because there is karma and karma is such a loaded word. What I want to say about it is, karma comes from us since we're eternal beings.

Wherever we are when we die, it sounds awful to say this in a way, but it feels like we put life on a hold button. I have a friend who died and he died because he gave up. He was my age, but I could see everywhere where he was giving up. I don't want people to give up. That's karma. He wasn't a mean guy, he gave up. Karma is us. It’s being all we can be or do the best that we can be before we die or not. It's not outside there. It's not this looming thing or God with a beard or the goddess with wings. It's us. We are God. I don't mean that by any means in a profane or a demeaning sense. We are so powerful because we're consciousness. I had a dog that had a human soul. It was amazing, but that's very clear. Consciousness isn't just us as humans, but I digress.

Let's have a look at your Human Design. For those of you who are new to the show, I always ask the guests before they come on, what their Human Design question is. Margi asked about her incarnation cross. We're going to talk about what an incarnation cross is and Margi’s in particular. We'll tie it back to what she's been talking about because it's definitely related. Left angle cross of revolution. This is about someone who has the know-how, the answers, and the resources to create a revolution, to fund a revolution, even.

As you said to me, Margi, a revolution in consciousness. This is particularly appropriate for you because your profile is a 6/2. There are only twelve profiles. The 6/2, in my opinion, is the spiritual teacher. That's my shorthand name for the 6/2. It’s also known as the Role Model Hermit. You're role modeling those two energies, which is the hermit that needs time alone to be naturally creative and then the creativity, reveals what is wanting to be revealed, and then the six energies, the role model, brings out this wisdom to the other, to the group.

Consciousness is ineffable. It's unexplainable because we're in it. We are of it.

It is a capacity to see what others don't because the six energy is up on the roof. It's up on the roof, looking down and seeing the people and the places and the things moving about. The two naturally know what to do with that information, that scene from the roof. With the left-angle cross of revolution, you're here to teach people in many ways how to forgive their past transgressions and that is your personality. You are a leader in forgiveness.

The forgiveness, like your client who needed to be acknowledged for what he'd done, that he didn't want to do, but felt he needed to do. Often that lack of forgiveness can keep the trauma intact. It can keep it recirculating through the person's life. What people see in you is you have this capacity to help them not feel like fools or to be okay about feeling like a fool. The risk attendant was being foolish, but the fool is often the wise one at the end of it all, and therein lies the paradox. People know that they can come to you to be that fool for them, the fool on the hill, and to help them express appreciation for the risk-taker within themselves and forgiveness, particularly. It's forgiveness for the risk-taking that maybe doesn't go the way we'd hoped or was poorly thought out or not thought out at all. I was totally impulsive.

To me, the revolution that you are providing is a revolution and cleaning up karma, because that's what 6/2s do. They're transpersonal. The personal profiles make the karma and the transpersonal profiles clean it up. You are helping people to clean up their lack of forgiveness, such that they can have a revolution around their work in the world which is over on the design side. Does that make sense?

Totally. In fact, I'm thinking of a good friend who did a talk for the Sarasota Audubon Program and a Program Director. It’s exactly that and she's very powerful.

That's the revolution. The revolution is to clean up karma by forgiving and acknowledging yourself. You help facilitate that because as you showed in those two stories that you shared with us, the individual themselves is dealing with so much data input, the one dealing with the past lives. They don't necessarily know what to focus on or what the point of the story is or what's an important detail or what's an unimportant detail. You have these eyes from up above that see the matrix within them, that see the patterns, that see where the person is off the mark in terms of their self-respect and self-love. You essentially help them course-correct. This is going to create revolutions in people's lives because you unburden them in your work. There's a laying down of the burden.

This is so inspiring. It feels like it penetrates right to the heart of who I am. I'm also a school of service in the hand readings. When you say that I feel so moved and inspired, that to me is what the revolution is. I'm not into bombs or blowing things up unless things are completely destroyed, but I hope I’ll never see that. This is fabulous. I love how you’ve interpreted this. Thank you.

We need a different kind of revolution now. We need the revolution of forgiveness. We need a revolution that teaches people how to manage their minds better. That is ultimately what you're helping people do. If they want to access the awareness center that is the neocortex and harness that power, one can't be swimming in a bunch of past trauma. They can't get to the now if the past keeps reliving itself.

It's like they're throwing the railroad tracks that are supposed to take them forward. They are throwing them over their heads and going backward.

When I think about this concept of everything happening at once, if you're in trauma and you are not released during the past, it does become your now and it reinforces itself. People stay stuck because new input can't get past the barrier of that trauma wall or the unforgiveness wall or the judgment wall or whatever wall the person has up. You dismantle that wall.

We're in a time where we're obsessed with the trauma, with the wall and with the lack of forgiveness. It's so important and pithy and so key that we need to focus on our perfection, not arrogantly, but because we are eternal, we have an endless possibility for growth and learning. That's such a turn-on. There's so much that we can shed that isn't us as we grow.

Any final words of wisdom for our audience?

I'd love to have people come wayfind the cosmos with me. I'm excited to teach, to keep learning, and keep teaching. I'm going to be starting the State of the Cosmos Podcast where I'll be talking more on specific topics in depth. Please wayfind the cosmos with me. I'd love to have you join my Facebook group and come to my website. I'd love to keep learning and growing with all of you, so please come join me. It's such a privilege to be alive right now, even with all its challenges. I'm so thrilled to have done this with you, Baeth. You are so good at pulling out the essence. I feel so inspired and moved by that, to know more and more about my design. I study Human Design before, but I didn't get it until I started studying so closely with you. I'm thrilled. I've learned a lot from this. Thank you so much.

You're so welcome. Thank you for being on the show. It's been such a pleasure. To all of you reading wherever you may be, we'll see you next time. Thank you, Margi.

Thank you.

Discover Your Soul Language With Generator Jennifer Urezzio

This is the show where we meet with people who I feel are aligned to their design and you get to decide. We share what the individual is up to, what they are creating, what they are putting out in the world, what they have learned. Our guests share incredible stories. Towards the end of the show, we have a look at an aspect of our guest’s Human Design. I asked the guests before the interview what they want to look at or what they want to explore, which is wonderful because it helps focus my energy. We don't have a five-hour show because we could spend a lot of time talking about what's in someone's design.

I want to introduce our wonderful guest. Her name is Jennifer Urezzio. She is the Founder of Soul Language, a paradigm that puts tangibility to the soul so a conscious connection can be established to enable crystal clear decisions for success. Jennifer is also a master intuitive and the author of two bestselling books. She has trained over 30 practitioners worldwide in soul language. At this point, there are over 5,000 individuals, including me, all over the world connecting to their soul languages. I had a soul language experience with Jennifer. I'm going to have her share a bit about that. With that, let's bring to the show, Jennifer Urezzio. Welcome. I'm happy you are with us.

Thank you so much. I'm excited to be here.

I'm happy you are here. It's such a treat.

It's so fun that you are where I am now. I love that. You are on the East Coast.

It is so much fun. We got to meet in person. We met for breakfast.

We have known each other for many years.

I met you when I was starting my career, which meant I was maybe 29, 30 years old. I have known you for a few decades.

You came to my house. You drove to my house to do my hand analysis.

I remember coming to your house. You had cool things around your house, cool plants, potions and beautiful gemstones. From the moment I met you I thought, “This is an unusual person. This is one cool chick. We are going to know each other for a long time.” I like to say that we have a soul family. We are in the same fractal. Since I have moved East, my fractal is around me. You are part of my fractal as far as I'm concerned.

When we have words to describe what we know deep down inside, there's a profound acceptance.

I'm glad about that because that is fun and it is cool. We saw each other probably half a dozen times over many years. I have seen you more in 2020 than I have, which is great. I love it.

We always stayed in touch over that time, phone calls and checking in. You always knew if I was having a hard time because you are spooky like that, “Beth, I was thinking about you so strongly. Why?” I’m glad you called me.” What is soul language? Will you explain to everyone what that is?

What it does is it gives amazing human words to your essential nature. It puts words into three different categories of your soul, your mission here, how you feel about that mission or how you will be known here and then your soulful personality. When we have words to describe what we know deep down inside, there is this profound acceptance. We then can create this conscious connection to move from struggle, pain and programming to consciousness. How do you manifest more and create a better life? You put consciousness into everything you do.

What I do is help people understand their languages and then move from unconscious or pain to consciousness. For people like you and me who have been on the path for a while, our unconsciousness is subtle, sneaky. When you have the framework, the interface to have that connection with your soul in a deeper way, it allows you for much more clarity. It allows you to stop suffering, deal with pain and choose to put goodness into everything you do, which reflects back to you with more goodness.

Why do you think it is important to have a deep connection with your soul?

Most of us are hearing our soul anyway but we are hearing it through layers. Here is a perfect example. Our soul is always saying, “More.” What most human beings hear through the layers is, “Not enough.” When you have this deeper connection, are making a conscious connection, having an ongoing conversation and not text messaging yourself and it autocorrects. You have this ability to create based on truth, wisdom, knowing that your love is supported and provided for. That creates a lot of freedom. It creates an ability to choose completeness rather than the ability to operate on programming. A lot of us spend a lot of time doing things and expressing things that we know deep down inside that's off but we don't know why we are doing it. When you have that deep connection with your soul, that allows you to feel at home no matter where you go.

How could people use soul language along with their human design info?

It creates this huge 360 degrees blueprint of who you are. We will use me and this goes to my question at the end. I know when I'm frustrated, that is in my human design. That is a signal that I have to tune in and have a conversation with my soul. I then would tune in and go, “What's the belief behind my frustration? What do I want? What do I need that I don't feel I'm getting? What can my soul provide me here that will allow me to move from frustration to something as powerful as neutrality?”

In that consciousness, all these doors start to open. It becomes this beautiful dance of understanding and having tangible tools that you can utilize in your life every day. If you are not going to use it in your life, what is the point of having all that knowledge? It is to make a difference in your choice selection and to create based on what you want to be and experience here versus what your past or what your history or what your programming has given you the option up into this point.

It is real liberation. How can people start listening to their souls?

AYD 10 | Soul Language
Soul Language: When you're frustrated, that's a signal that you have to tune in and have a conversation with your soul.

The easiest thing is to tune in, connect to your heart if you don't know your soul languages and simply ask, “What do I need to know now?” Your soul is talking to you all the time. Here is how they talk in case no one told you. It talks through intuition but most of us don't spend any time asking ourselves questions so that can be unveiled in a bigger way. When you ask that question, you are going to get some answers. Some people are going to get answers and they are not going to have any idea what that means. They shut them down, go back and start to connect the dots. A lot of people don't talk to their souls because they don't understand their database of how their soul is talking to them. My soul talks in Star Trek references. I know what that means.

What does it mean? I want to know what it means?

I will get a whole new Star Trek reference especially for clients and I’m like, “Now I have to translate it again for the client.” I know what all that stuff means to me. Most people want their soul to speak to them in a way that they have seen on TV, that I do it or that you do it. They have to understand their flavor of that. That is why soul language is cool because it gives you the framework to have that deep conversation. You are going to get answers. Another reason why people don't ask questions is that the soul doesn't talk to you in marketing speak. It doesn't talk to you in, “Do this. Do that.” It talks to you in bigger pictures and visions. When you get a big answer, you go, “My humanness can’t get there.” What is the first step to getting there? People are afraid to have this.

What do I need to know now? I know I will get an answer. That is the first thing I felt. I was like, “I'm getting an answer to that.” How did you discover soul languages? What was the unfolding for Jennifer that led to the creation of this beautiful body of work?

This a groovy story because you are involved in that story. I got my hand analysis, which you said that you are a powerful healing teacher of service in the spotlight. I was like, “I resonate with that. That's groovy. What the heck do I do with that?” I started asking big questions. We did some coaching. You called me up, you are like, “I'm doing this event. I’d love for you to come to speak about essential oils and life purposes. Don't worry, there are going to be lots of speakers.” I get there and there is just me as an additional speaker. There are no other speakers. I get off the stage and people are lining up to talk to me there.

I remember that line. I was happy for you.

They were like, “Do you know this?” I was like, “I know all of that. I don't know how I know but I know.” I was asking big questions at that time like, “Where are my people? I'm angry. I connect to this person and that person. What is that?” I'm on the massage table because you gave free spa treatments with everything.

Our guest speakers got spa treatments. That was a nice event.

The swag bag alone was crazy. I'm on the massage table. I keep asking those big questions. She's piling mud on me. I'm like, “That woman across the way was nice. The woman next to me and I are going to be friends. Why is that, God?” That's what I call my higher power. Not the woman across the way. What I heard was soul language. I was like, “Get me a pen.” The woman was like, “What?” I said, “Get me a pen.” I kept asking questions. When you ask big questions, that's what happens, you get big answers. After four months of asking questions, day by day and writing down the answers. I had this paradigm. I started identifying people.

I identify this woman who knew nothing about the 107 languages, nothing about the three different categories. I said, “I Identify what your soul language is and it's called partner. How does that resonate with you?” She said, “Before I got on the phone, Jennifer asked my soul language. What would I say? She goes, “I wrote down the word partner.” I have warrior energy. When I cry, it's pretty bad. I burst out and hysterically crying. She was like “Are you okay?” I was like, “Tell me I'm not crazy.” That is the way it first started. I then have been asking questions every day. It grows. The language definitions keep getting more and more in-depth. As new practitioners come on, they ask different questions. We are having different conversations about the evolution of each of those energies. That is ten years of my life in four minutes.

Tune in and connect to your heart. Your soul is talking to you all the time.

What a beautiful story.

It's real. Every time I say it, I always footnote you. You were a stone on my path. It's amazing how the universe works. It allows us to understand that you are being supported and provided for it every moment in time. Staying connected is key to receiving what you want and feeling fulfilled. That takes practice. It takes consistency.

Before we look at your chart, what have you got going on you would like to share with our readers?

One of the things I love to teach is helping people move from unconscious warrior energy to conscious warrior energy. There are 21 patterns of unconscious warrior energy. I will give you a couple. One is you make war with everything. You have to make war with everything to receive. Another one is you have this fierce loyalty, I call it never leave a man down. That you are sacrificing your own needs, wants and desires because you feel responsible for others. I love to teach warriors to move from unconscious to conscious utilizing that energy because they are so powerful that they become an unstoppable freight train when they do it. We have another one coming up shortly on the website. I would love everyone to take the survey to see if you are an unconscious warrior. It’s groovy stuff.

Let’s look at your chart. You are an emotional authority generator. You have a defined solar plexus, which about 50% of humanity has. I also have a defined solar plexus that plays from about mid sternum to just below the belly button, which is what houses our emotions. The emotions run in waves. The wave frequency has started from 59/6. That is the mother lode of all emotional waves. You have the 59/6, which is a creative channel. It is the mating channel. It's sexual energy. With people that have this channel, it's an endless desire to create. I have the channel, too. We are always creating things. It doesn't occur to us like, “Do I have the right to create?” It’s a force of nature.

Do people feel like they don't have the right to create?

There are people that will put off their creativity for a lifetime even. It's dreadful but they do.

I can’t imagine.

Until they meet us.

We unlock them.

AYD 10 | Soul Language
Soul Language: Staying connected is key to receiving what you want and feeling fulfilled.

We hope to set them free from that misguided thinking. You are an emotional authority type and you have a defined sacral, which 70% of us have. It’s the sex chakra. We are either a generator, 37% or manifesting generator, 33%. You are a pure generator. The pure generator does not have a channel from one of the motors to the throat. Whereas the manifesting generator has the sacral defined and a channel to the throat. As pure generators, we are the worker bees. You, me and all the other 37% of us. We are the builders. We will tend to do the same thing over and over for years to achieve mastery. The two biggest desires of the generator are to be masterful in their work and to have a good love life, to have a good, romantic partnership.

I can check those boxes off.

Isn’t it wonderful? It’s satisfying, which is the signature of the generator and the manifesting generator to be satisfied. Everything comes down to that question of satisfaction and then I will bring in your question. This is to set up your question. Satisfaction comes from feeling deep in the sacral. You know when you bite into a delicious dessert or you have had an amazing orgasm? Somebody sends you a beautiful letter. That's satisfying. It isn't about how much money, how many orgasms, donuts or whatever the thing. Are you satisfied? That's the question. Is this person, place or thing, satisfying to Jennifer or not?

In this case, I'm going to use the term generator going forward, including manifesting generators. When any type of generator moves out of satisfaction, they move into what's called the not-self, which is frustration. Seventy percent of humanity is subjected to these waves of frustration. Your question that you established before we started the interview. I ask each guest what is your question about your design. You asked such a brilliant question. How do I use my frustration to build skills rather than staying frustrated? It’s is an amazing question.

First of all, it's understanding that the frustration has nuances. There is the frustration that comes about when you have made an incorrect decision and you are losing energy for something because you realize, “I don't want to do this but now I'm locked into doing it out of integrity. I don't have the energy for it.” That's high frustration. There is the frustration that will come when we plateau in a relationship, project or working out. Plateaus will happen. If you are trying a new food plan, they always work great. Now, I don't feel anything. The plateauing situation usually means we need to be asked a new question. What keeps generators moving along are questions from the outside. They need to be asked.

One thing I found helpful when I find myself plateauing is I will find a projector because they are the question geniuses. I will call my mother up, for example. She is a projector and I will tell her the situation where I plateau. I'll say, “Mom, ask me questions.” She lays out these gems of questions. I then can tune into, “I could do this.” I have something to respond to. Generators need something to respond to from the outside. We are not good at initiating from the mind. That can often move us out of a plateau. That is one skill to develop, recognizing the difference between the frustration that results from a poor decision.

You are locked in and you got to finish it. You are going to be tired because you don't have the natural energy for it versus the frustration that is a natural nudge to get more to respond to. You have done all you can do on your own. You need something new to respond to. Worst case scenario, you can record questions in your own voice and play it back, which works well or do a video recording. I remember there was a wonderful scene in that show with Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda. Do you remember that TV show, Jennifer? I forget what it's called. What's the name of the show? Do you remember?

It’s Grace and Frankie.

Grace does these videos to herself. One of my friends took it a step further. She said, “Do a video to yourself from your soul.”

Frankie does.

AYD 10 | Soul Language
Soul Language: When you ask big questions, you get big answers.

Do a video to yourself from your complaining frustration voice. Start with the complainer first and then have the soul answer. You can also do that. It's a good exercise. Those are some ways to move out of frustration. Here's the other thing, if you start asking on the regular, “Am I satisfied?” That is going to make a lot of decisions quickly. Like, “I don't want to work with this person. It's not satisfying.” Doesn't matter how much they want to pay you?

That is a great question.

Isn't it great? Keep asking, “Are you satisfied?” The am I satisfied question clears out the clutter. Notice if your frustration levels spike, you probably need something new to respond to. The worst frustration is the kind that comes when you realize, “Crap. I said yes to something that I should not have. Now I'm locked into finishing it. I better make the most of it.” It’s better to finish it than to quit. If you have to quit, try to find an alternative. Otherwise, you pay karma as a generator for broken engagements. That is why generators know that it's potent. That's my little update about your chart. Will you share with everyone again what you have going on and we will share the link with everyone? Can you do that?

I do want to say I did a soul language session with Jennifer, it was incredible. I keep referring back to it. I and the team are implementing what we learned for Jennifer. Jennifer, thank you. This is an extraordinary interview and the universe is saying end it now. Thank you all for your time. We will see you again.

Creating a Sacred Practice That Works

Why do we need a sacred practice? When we feel separate from our higher power, that separation shows up in our lives as lack, pain, and suffering. Participating in a daily sacred practice that fits who you are will allow you to create in a more powerful way, feel more at peace, and know that you are safe no matter what challenges may appear in your experience. As a spiritual renegade, your sacred practice needs to be flexible, fun and innovative like you.

The Manifesting Artist: How Human Design Shapes Clara Berta’s Large-Scale Art

Welcome to our new show, Align To Your Design. I am so excited to be rolling out these new episodes with fascinating and exciting people who are aligned to their design and living their purpose. Our guest is Clara Berta, who hails from Romania. She is a passionate international award-winning artist of Hungarian Heritage. Her dynamic abstract paintings have been exhibited and collected worldwide. Clara's art has been featured in high-profile television shows, movies and magazines. She's going to share with us about her process. She's known for creating these large-scale art pieces that reflect the soothing colors in organic shapes found in nature, especially the ocean.

Her focus has shifted to express the vibrant colors of the human body's biological and psychological energy. She studied advanced composition and technique at the Santa Reparata School of Art in Florence, Italy, as well as printmaking in the US. In 2015, she opened BertaArt Studio Gallery and exhibition space working as an artist downtown in her studio. It is also a cultural center in Downtown Los Angeles. We will give you some contact information. With that, I want to bring on our wonderful guest, Clara Berta. Welcome to the show.

Thank you. I'm so excited to be here.

It's so nice to be with you. Will you share with us how you discovered that you were an artist? When did that start?

It just happened like, "Let me try this and see what happens." I put it aside and I realized how much I was missing it. Every time I was going through something difficult in my life, I was going back to my art. I realized how much it helped me. It helped me to heal.

You make good money with your art. There's the archetype of this starving artist. A lot of people I know who are very creative don't pursue their art because they say there's no money in it. I wonder if you could respond to that because you're a very successful working artist.

You need tenacity. That's something that I have. I've inherited that from my parents like working hard, good ethics and having a passion for doing what I love. If you love doing what you are fabulous at, what you're good at, keep doing it. That's what happens.

You are a manifestor in human design. One of the things we do in these interviews is talk about design. The manifestor is an unusual type. They are only 8% of the population. When your energy goes out in the world, it makes an impact. Have you become aware since you've learned about your human design of how your energy impacts others as a manifestor? Can you speak to that?

I can talk about that for sure. Years ago, I started realizing how people connect to certain people with energy. It wasn't like I was pushing or doing anything. People started coming to me. I have a young collector in 2020 that came to me and we connected because of our energies, our stories and our background. That was so powerful.

Can you share an example of a transformation that a client has had from purchasing a piece of your art?

If you love doing what you are fabulous at, keep doing it.

He loves the painting because he uses it in Zoom calls. He moved to a bigger place. I love seeing it. It brightens up the place. He's happy about the collection. A young collector who just started collecting his first painting.

I've got some pieces of your work. I thought maybe you could share a bit about the technique that you use and how the pieces came into being. The first one I'm going to bring up is called Talking Heads. How did this come to be? Do you get a visual or does the paint reveal to you?

It was a slow process. The background started first. I have the canvas on the floor. With the top layers, I did those on a table so that I can have a little more control over them. I loved the music by Talking Heads. I feel like it's a conversation of people talking. That's what I'm seeing or feeling.

How big is it first of all? How long did it take you to paint it?

It's 48x72. I did it in a week or so. I have to wait in between. Sometimes you have to wait. Sometimes I'm a little impatient but waiting in between is important. Everything flows together but there's separation. I think it's about energy.

You have one called Dreamy Mind. Tell us about it.

This was a collaborative piece that I did with two other artists. They are muralists and graffiti artists. What I love about it is on the bottom left, there are words. There's the word energy and love. They use spray paint. These two guys were interested in going in my direction and my pouring process but I also see all that they have contributed to the pieces. It was my first piece to collaborate with another artist. The new layers on top happened a little bit later. It looks like a hummingbird on the right side perhaps. They're all connecting.

I see a lot of animal imagery in here. Your art does speak to nature. It's quite shamanic in its feel.

I love having this at home. It's a beauty and this beautiful antique table. Here is energy and love. We're all connected. It's about the textures and the beautiful orange. It's all about the layering, the combination of colors perhaps and the water. It looks like we're in the water. The bottom part reminds me of the Monet Water Lilies or the feel underwater.

It looks like a photograph from under the ocean. It's one of those coral reef areas where these different rock formations with living coral come together. It's striking. As you get closer to it, you can see there's so much depth in the way that the paint is laid on the canvas. It’s striking.

AYD 5 | Manifesting Artist
The Manifesting Artist: We're all connected. It's about the textures and the beautiful orange. It's all about the layering, the combination of colors perhaps and the water.

It has a gold background, little specks of gold. Have you seen the documentary, My Octopus Teacher?

No.

That's a beautiful documentary. It's all about being underwater. This octopus is teaching the videographer about life. I highly recommend it.

I'm going to bring up another painting. It’s called Cosmopolitan. Tell us about this. This is so beautiful and sexy. I love the colors.

I thought of the title because occasionally, we need a Cosmo. It all started with the movement, the background first and then the colors after. I picked it up because I was ready to take a photo of it. I noticed how the paint started dripping down. I put it down. I love the little parts of dripping. I was like, "Leave it alone." There's something about three. There are three colors.

It's as if your hands are channeling these energy frequencies. There's intelligence in the abstraction. Someone can make an abstract piece and it doesn't look like much. There's cohesiveness and originality, as well as integration in the way the paint is laying on this canvas. I love the movement in it. I love that I can see different things within it, the energy of a butterfly and the light of a firefly flying around. I could go on and on interpreting what I see in the abstraction. It's gorgeous. Let me pull up another beauty. This one is called Thinking of You. Tell us about this. This is a different feel from the other pieces.

This is from my earlier work. This was years ago right before I moved to Downtown. I was in the process of selling my home in Studio City. Back then, I was creating highly textured paintings. The whole background of this painting was blue. I decided to add the reds. That's why parts are showing in blues. The center is sexy. It's feminine. It felt like it was thinking of you. Sometimes titles are harder to come by than creating the artwork.

I love the feel the mood of this. It has a different mood than the other pieces. This last piece, I don't have a name for it. It’s Dreamy.

It's pretty dreamy. It's hanging in our bedroom. I love it. They've created a wallpaper out of Dreamy. I have a company called Feathr in Finland. They're making wallpaper with my artwork. It's so cool to wake up in the morning to Dreamy.

Some of the magic has come out of your body onto the canvas as an artist. Let's bring up your chart. You are manifestor 6/2, left angle cross of informing. I'm going to go down to the chart itself and show why you're a manifestor. Genetically, why you have this manifestor ability, the first thing is you do not have a defined sacral. It's in white. Only generator or manifesting generators have a defined sacral. The reflectors, projectors and manifestors do not. The next thing that you have that makes you a manifestor is you have this 22/12 channel, which connects the solar plexus to the throat.

Sometimes titles are harder to come by than creating the artwork.

There are four motors in human design, the sacral, the root, the solar plexus and the heart. A manifestor needs to have a channel that can travel up from the root through the solar plexus to the throat or it could travel from the pelvis but could travel from the heart to the throat. It could travel from the root to the spleen up to the throat. There are many different pathways. The thing that differentiates you from a manifesting generator or generator is you do not have this sacral motor. With that, there's a bypass of speed for you in your system. Manifestors are the only type that can create what's in their mind out in 3D reality to a relative degree of accuracy.

The majority of humans, which are generators and manifesting generators, 70% of humanity. I'm a pure generator. Generators and manifesting generators have to learn to live in response to the sacral. Our life is working when we wake up not knowing what's going to happen. We might have a general idea of what we got to get done but there's very much living in response. The manifestor like yourself has this capacity to envision an outcome and direct your energy very laser-like towards that outcome. The only thing for you to keep in mind is that because your solar plexus is the motor that is connected to your throat, you are an emotional being.

The way that you make decisions is through your emotional authority. Thus, even if you get a great idea because you've got the 64/47 and then you've got the gate of ideas, this is the channel of curiosity. This is a channel of imagery, the 64/47, images and stories. Even if you get a huge download, mentally, you still need to ride out that emotional wave to a place of calm. For anyone with a defined solar plexus, 50% of humanity has a defined solar plexus. I also have a defined solar plexus. This essentially overrides everything else in the decision-making system of your body, including your mind. What this means is for emotional types like you and me, when we're excited, when we're upset, when we're confused, we should wait until we get clarity.

The worst things I've done in my life have been snapping at someone angry, sending an angry email, jumping into an opportunity too soon because I was afraid I'd lose it, the fear of missing out. With time, we learn to chill out and wait simply. Once you've gone through your emotional wave as a manifestor, you can essentially proceed without needing the input of others. One of the beautiful things for manifestors is that you don't need consensus. You don't have to be in response to other people, places and things. You just need to be in tune with your emotional wave, as it relates to whatever ideas you have of what you want to create. As I share this with you, does that make sense to you as I explain it?

It does. I get excited. I did this and I was like, "I'm going to go for a walk. Get out and release it." I felt so much better.

You're also a 6/2 profile. For anyone reading who's a 6/2, there are only twelve profiles. The 6/2 is the spiritual teacher. That's how I call the 6/2. 6/2s are profoundly visionary. That's the energy of the 6 because the 6 is the roof of the house. You're sitting on the roof. You can see the big picture. The 2 is your talent. Anyone with a 2 in their profile has natural creative talent that they didn't have to train to get. It's in you. You teach through this talent. You're a role model through this talent. They're role models through their incredible creative gifts, which you are doing. Kudos for being aligned with your design, Clara.

I love teaching. I've been teaching for years also. I love giving back to my students and to share with artists. It makes me feel so good and empowers women.

What's the best way for people to reach you?

You can reach me at my website, BertaArt.com. Instagram is @BertaArt. I opened a gallery in Dubai. I'm super excited and I just got representation in China. I had a group show.

I'm so happy to hear how well things are going and I'm not surprised because you're a manifestor. That's how you roll. It's so exciting to me to see someone who has your integrity, your spirit and your kindness be so successful with creating beauty in this world.

The Manifesting Artist: Energy connects with energy.

Thank you. I love what I do and it shows.

I would encourage people reading this to consider getting a commission from you because one thing I know about things that manifestors create is if another individual brings that manifestor creation into their office or home, it activates manifesting energy. There's a frequency. The frequency of your paintings is an expression of your frequency as a manifestor. If someone contemplates it, they're being impacted by it. There's so much movement, joy and light in your art. I would say to anyone who wants more movement, joy, light and prosperity in their lives to bring your work into their life.

Thank you. Energy connects with energy.

Are there any final words of wisdom for our audience?

I want to say, thank you. I love being with you and with everyone. I loved following you over many years. I love how you have blossomed as well.

Thank you so much. To be continued. Bye for now.

About Clara Berta

AYD 5 | Manifesting ArtistClara Berta is a Hungarian-American contemporary abstract painter based in Los Angeles, USA. She has been practicing art since 2000 and has become known for her large-scale paintings that embody the vibrancy and tranquility of the natural world through her use of organic forms and layering of harmonious colors.

The dynamic movement and restorative potential of water are an enduring source of inspiration for Berta. Water draws a connection between her heritage in Hungary, where thermal springs are known for their healing properties, and her chosen home on the Pacific Ocean in Los Angeles.

With an academic background in psychology, Berta is fascinated by the human emotional response to color and abstract forms. In her work, she recognizes the transformative power of art and its potential for self-expression. These are the central themes of her teachings as an art educator and her creative workshops for women. The physical process of creating her large paintings also ties in with her interest in movement and the body and traces a lineage to her earlier exploration of performance art.

Berta studied advanced composition and technique at the Santa Reparata School of Art in Florence, Italy, and printmaking in the US. Her paintings have been exhibited and collected worldwide, including in Europe, China, and Dubai, and has been featured in high-profile film and television productions.
